Well the Magic has gone into "hassle free" mode again. Laura said it is running on generators right now. Wonder if they will make it to Cabo on schedule! Said Cpt Thor made an announcement that they were "experiencing engine troubles"!!

As many cruises as I have taken..we have never had any trouble...so I am going to ask others..what does this mean for us? Is it possible it's something that can be fixed in port? Or when it becomse something like this..do they have to cancel cruises? (I am not trying to start trouble - so no one panic..I am just asking because I honestly don't know)

You are very welcome! I got DD's cinderella dress that used to be in my signature from this seller and we bought her first communion dress from her too. She will be wearing that for one of the formal nights on this cruise. The quality is very nice. I'm sure that you will find some gorgeous dresses there for your little princess in a year or so.

I bought formals for my two DDs from this same seller, and I also bought older DD's First Communion dress here too! They are very nice dresses!

BTW, Lisa, I just realized that I never answered your question from several threads back! No, I did not participate in the DIS group on our first cruise in 11/03. I was fairly new to the DIS back then, although I do remember doing a lot of reading and learning a lot!

Hi everyone .. My turn to ask for some prayers. My sister had to take my Mom to Emerg early this morning ... Turns out she needs to have her Gall Bladder removed. They are keeping her in and hope to have it removed Wednesday or Thursday. She is on Coumadin (DVT history) and has to be weaned off it first. My younger brother has Down's Syndrome, so he will be coming up to stay with me while Mom is in the Hospital. Kirstyn is at home, so she will be able to stay with him while I am at work. I'll know more about her condition tonight when I go see her. Please keep her in your thoughts. Thanks.

Same here! And it's been so dry lately. For a while, it looked like we'd get some rain from Dolly in a few days, but now it looks like she's moving further South.

It had Engine problems in the Caribbean earlier this year and was late to ports, they did fix it, but I under-sand the Dry-dock in September is a a major overhaul of them.

Someone bring some elastic bands and a donkey.

In LA? Probably not, on the Ocean going to Mexico, possibly. The Pacific is a lot colder than the Atlantic for some reason. In 2005 we definately needed jackets on deck between LA and Cabo.

Yep now is the time to put it on the list, Cards being stopped happens more and more.

Also, take the number for the card with you. Even if you call, they may stop the card. We had this happen in 2006 when we were in Mexico. Called them, told them we'd be in Mexico. Used the card and had them stop it "for security reasons." Didn't get sorted out until after we got home. Good thing we had a back up card (or two).

Your card will expire the last day of August, so any transactions after that could be stopped, best to update in give your new card details.

Contact your banks if you are using your cards on the cruise and let them knw where you plan to use it and the ports or they could be stopped on a security check.

Do this around 7 nights before your vacation.

I already contacted ours (when I called to find out if I was gonna get a new card sent soon because it expires in Aug and we'll be gone from Aug 11th to Sept 1st) and they put it in the notes all the info about us going on the cruise, using it in CA and then on the cruise/etc. They said they put it in the notes, should I call again then? Hmm

I think everything we're using the card for is all in August. The only thing a CC will be used for after August is on SEpt 1st and even the rental car hasn't taken CC info yet....... So as long as this card expires 08/08 means it's good thru August like you said- we're fine then. Thanks!

We used the same code to book a minivan with Avis several months ago. I'm just hoping it's big enough for the 6 of us and all of our luggage. I'm also hoping that Avis has enough minivans on hand for all us pirates!



I hear you...the more kids you've got in school, the more time it takes to hunt down all their supplies! I still stock up on glue, crayons, markers, etc. during the back-to-school sales so that I can replenish that stuff during the year, but you really can't beat the convenience of the pre-packaged school supplies!



Cool! I knew you were doing Sealife Park in PV. What time are you doing the DePalm Island thing in Aruba? I thought there were two times scheduled. We're in the morning.

I hope it's big enough for the 5 of us and luggage! We are going to have probably one checked back/one carry on per person..... I imagine we can do some creative packing of the minivan if necessary. LOL Too bad I can't have my Expedition with us- then I wouldn't worry a bit. LOL

Oh I'm telling you- finding all the very specific (down to color, size, etc.) stuff on their lists is becoming the biggest PITA! And everything they specify- well everyone ELSE in this town needs the same things! So you go from store to store with those specific sizes/colors all gone. so frustrating!

Oh the Depalm stuff in Aruba is a thorn in my side right now.. it's messing up our plans because they changed 2 of us to 11:45am-4:45pm and the other 3 are still 12:30-5:30pm. I may need to call and see if we can change all 5 of us to morning or something to get us all at the same time! sigh....... but if not, then that means we won't be there at the same time? wahhhhhhh

For the Pirates who plan to try and book when we board, I will post a sign-up list on my cabin door (6076) where you can add your name if you get a ressie. I'll take that list to Palo the next day to see about getting us all seated together. Don't worry about which time slot - just get a ressie for the 24th! Palo Brunch has usually taken 1.5 to 2 hours for DH & I to finish in the past, so we will all have plenty of time to socialize.

I do NOT need to know in advance that you are trying for ressies. I will just take the list I have (those above with ressies & anyone who signs up on my door) to Palo during our first sea day (sometime in the afternoon).

DL is quite inland, so as you move closer to the beach it will cool down. Might be 10-15 degrees cooler at the water.

I just typed up my list this morning - this is fairly static now and I don't plan on changing it as for the most part the suitcase is packed. It does not include what I'm taking in my carry on. It also only includes the stuff in my suitcase, Mum's and Robert's vary slightly - for example, Mum has the FE in her case. We are also staying on for 10 nights at SSR after the trip - hence the last few items at the bottom.

I would call the Bank or credit card company at 7 days before the cruise as it can get buried under everything Else if too early,and any note on your file can drop off after 21 days, a good thing is to enter in the Banks number into your cell phone before you go.

Yes hope they fix the engines I do not wish to be late.

Yes thought about that, would have gone to Barcelona last Saturday, was the 20th -this year 19th, A day after school broke up, and we cruised next Saturday was 28th, will be the 27th for 2008. I had a full week in Barcelona.

I remember it with fondest one of the best holidays ever, hope they go back, as I was thinking today, after 2009 I have been to every DCL port Bar Matazan and Nassau, -Pity I haven't been to Matazan.

Yes great cruise great ports great people hope they will be back,

I think though Summer 2010 is a 50/50 between Europe or West coast USA, and whilst I hope for Europe, I think it will be LA.

Reason, in preparation of the Magic going there permanently when the new ship comes.
