Got a request for a 2nd interview. Waiting for them to get back to me. It will either be tomorrow or next Tuesday.

I need to go shopping. I don't have a decent interview outfit. But can't leave the house since I'm expecting 2 deliveries today. Hopefully they come early and I can head out.

DH will be getting his bionic knee device this week and is excited. They call it the brain in a box and is truly amazing. He tried it out last week and actually for the first time in over 5 years wasn't dragging the leg. Hopefully this will allow him to walk longer without getting fatigued. Off to get ready for work.

That was a heart wrenching story, but an amazing devise. Hope it works just as wonderfully for DH! :hug:

DOTD or get M out of jail....:rolleyes1

Think! Think! Think!

We could never make the beverage Mike for anything. He is our friend.:flower3: I forgot .......we couldd add your Mike to blame too. With all those Mikes to blame......... we are always innocent.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

We will be innocently sitting on the stools watching for sea life! :rolleyes1

Here's a thought:
If you post my bail with your Disney Visa, it can mean MORE drinks of the day!

Just lookin' out for my friends.

What a pal!!! :laughing:

Thanks!

Thanks everyone..he is 17 but he is my baby! The only way you can see he is sick is the weightloss...and it is strange because he eats all the time!

Chrissie

:hug:

BTW Chrissie I got that dress from O.N. & I tried it on & DH looked kind of like this....

I guess he liked it! ;) :laughing:

GOsh - this makes absolutely no sense to me - I'm going to have to bribe Des to lunch so she fills me in on all the details. Not tomorrow though, dd 15 gets her moles removed tomorrow and looks like she may to go in for emergency wisdome teeth removal. Lovely, looks like its raining again. SIGH! Oh well, when it rains, it pours! :rotfl:

Hope DD doesn't feel too much discomfort! :hug:

BTW did you get my text message? :flower3:

Amazing what we can go through when we have to, huh?
I bet most things have felt easy since then.

I spent a week post-c sitting around a hospital, but babyDS was in the NICU, so we at least got to stay at the Ronald McDonald House down the street.

:hug: Maybe that's why many of us who have to make a choice, choose to spend out money on a TOAL with our families instead of a fancy car, designer clothes, etc. Somehow those other things become less & less important. ;)

Just saying hello and see how all you are doing? Find out today if I win the dress on ebay for my DD6, cross your fingers.
I hope that you all have a great day.

Take care,

Good luck! :wizard:

HELP!!!
I'm really struggling finding activities we can coordinate for the girls and I'm stressing big time! We have 1 Daisy, 5 Brownies, 8 Juniors, 1 Cadette and 1 Senior.
I do have some ideas from 2 people for some Junior things that we can probably use.

Girl Scout Badge Idea...........Let me know what you think!

In the Junior Girl Scout Manual there is a badge called "On My Way". Junior Scouts need to complete SIX activities, not sure about the Daisy's or the Brownies. I came up with three activitie ideas here.

Things we could do to earn the badge: 1) Find out about a couple of "Travel Careers" - maybe interview the Cruise Director, a dining room server, the excursion manager, galley manager, etc. 2) Each girl could create a travel post card of the port they are most looking forward to or that we have visited and they blind swap them with each other............THEN.........once the girls are home they could write something on their postcard and send it to someone totally different (we would have to assign an address). 3) The girls could brainstorm safety on the ship and how to stay safe - travelling in pairs, etc.

These are just some ideas I came up with........someone might have something to add or something totally different in mind. Give me your thoughts

#1 - Postcard making (msaseifert's idea was great!)
#2 - perform little skits in groups
#4 - would they let girl scouts in the kitchen? or maybe bring a chef to us?
#7 - Everyone will probably already have made a packing list
#8 - travel careers - (I think that msaseifert's interview idea fits in well for this!)
#9 - brainstorming safety on the ship (excellent idea!)
#10 - Everyone will have already packed their own bags!

Now this is already 7 choices, so we could eliminate one or do a bonus in case one doesn't work out.

Maybe we can go with the travel theme. Below are the Brownie Travel Right requirements.

Since it seems we are going with the travel theme the Brownies could work on Travel Right try-it
Travel Right

We are already doing #1, the postcards could count as number two, they could write on them in the car. Both need a packing requirement and then they could do the scavenger hunt or sing a song. Or the Brownies could learn a few songs and present them instead of a skit, or they could do a travel skit.

Perhaps you're going to the park or beach with your family. Or you're planning an overnight at a friend's. Maybe your Girl Scout troop or group is going camping. It's going to be a lot of fun!

#1. Be Prepared
List five "Safety Smart" rules to follow whenever you take a trip. Make individual checklists to put in your backpack or luggage.

#2. Busy Kits
Put together a small bag of things to keep you busy on the road. Some items you might take are:

* A book (or books)
* Song sheets so everyone can sing
* "License plate bingo" cards and crayons
* Cat's cradle string

Make sure the bag is sturdy, and that your name is written on the outside. Use it with a friend the next time you're on a bus, train, or planes, or in car.

#3. Scenery Scavenger Hunt
Before leaving, make a list of 10 things that you expect to see on a trip. Check off the items as you go along. If you are traveling with a friend, you can each do a different list and see who gets all 10 first.

#4. Travel Journal
Create a travel journal for your trip. Write a description of the places you went, the people you were with, and the things you did. What did you like the most about your trip? Why? Draw sketches of what you saw and did to go along with your written record. Collect souvenirs such as postcards, menus, and brochures.

#5. Sing a Song
Make up a song about traveling. Sing it with your Girl Scout troop or group, or with your family on your next trip. Make up hand gestures to go with the song.

#6. Pack It Up!
A day pack is great for almost any trip. If you are going on a hike, take along:

* A water bottle
* A whistle - in case you get separated from your group
* A rain poncho or windbreaker
* Coins for the phone
* Sunscreen and lip protection
* A sit-upon
* A bandanna

With a friend, list the things you would need to pack for these different trips:

An overnight at a friend's:

A 2-hour car ride:

________________________________________________

________________________________________________

________________________________________________

________________________________________________

A day at the beach:

Now, pack up the things on your list! Does it matter what goes first? Where would you place something that is easily breakable? Is your pack more comfortable when you pack it one way rather than another? Is your pack too heavy? If so, is it possible you have packed too much?

Or possibly Brownie Girl Scouts around the World try-it

For older girls they could work on the Travel Interest Project. I do not know where my interest project book is located.
