Oh yikes! So who drove and carried the kids around??
I swear it was about 2 months before I could comfortably ride in a car after each c-section. Ya just feel every little bump after abdominal surgery.

I loved the "don't pick up anything heavier than the baby" speech. That lasted about 3 days - I also had a 21 month old!

My wife loved the "don't go up and down stairs" direction. Baby stuff and bedrooms upstairs, food downstairs.....

And our kids were 10 lbs plus each at birth, so does that mean my wife had a greater threshold for what she could lift?

anyone know the walking distance around the ship?

also does the gym have a variety of weights?

Chrissie

Not sure about the distance Chrissie, but I think it's twice around + 1 mile.

Gym is nice, some free weights up to 50lbs. and a good selection of machines.

Wow can you just pack the seat that goes on the potty? We're packing 117 diapers. That's more than is in 1 of those huge boxes. Actually, I'm wondering what kind they sell onboard. I know DL had Huggies and WDW had Pampers last year... We also have to take 2 cases (24 8.5oz cans per case) of liquid formula. Actually the formula is going to be shipped to the hotel. I don't know what else weird we're packing yet!

Don't forget lots of diaper ointment, especially in that heat. My DS turned 6 last month when we were in DL and he actually got some diaper rash in his crotch. He hasn't had any since the diapers disappeared a few years ago, but my brilliant boy had peed in his underwear while we were at the parks and didn't bother to mention it, and we were there during that awful heat wave. Wet pee covered underwear + excessive heat = boy who's walking like he's bowlegged on the way back to the hotel so his underwear wouldn't rub on the rash. I wound up having to spend $4.99 on a miniscule container of Desitin in the HoJo gift shop.

And I usually walk around with a whole pharmacy with me, but always seem to manage to not have the one thing we need. This past trip, besides the diaper rash, my DS also got a croupy cold that to an ear infection. I had brought chewable tylenol with me. It was in a baggy and when I went to pull it out, it was turn grape crumbly dust. Oops.

But the croup, cold, ear infection and crotch rash aside, he still had a really good time. :lmao:

Got our DOC'S yesterday!

We would have received them on Friday but I was at work and Johnna was at a basketball game with my oldest DD. We were quite sad the entire weekend.:sad1:

Got 80% of packing done!:)

Hope everyone else is doing well in that department.

1/3 mile as mentioned before.
Lots of different weights in the gym. The nautilus-type machines are adjustable and there are various hand weights on rocks.

Thank you!

Thanks..

And by the way your costumes look amazing!!!

Let's face it, no matter what your age - it's all about the colon and all things related!

On Saturday, we are celebrating 3 years since my husband's colon surgery which was 4 weeks after my 3rd C-section. Believe me, we know about this stuff (or should I say s***?)!

It's really not a funny subject...but still...:rotfl::rotfl:

We used to take the potty chair camping....and I kept a small one on the floor in the back of the van at all times.

I thought we could start the day for those interested with breakfast in Parrot Cay @ 8 am-9:15. There are 100 of us, so I was going to ask them for an area there.

So meet time 9:15am Parrot Cay.

When we leave the ship, Mr Emerald will meet us outside the fenced area. There will be 2 signs Paula Bader #3 and Paula Bader #5 for the groups.

M, will be including this info in the navigator.

Carry on and have a great day

Paula,

We'll have breakfast with the group. Again, thanks for arranging all of this.

Barb

My understanding is that all the ports will accept US$ anyway so my feeling would be to change it back to US$ and just use it for spending money. You may get small amounts of change back in pesos but unless you are planning on doing a lot of shopping in Mexico, 30GBP is a shirt load of pesos! ;)

Thanks - we figure that we can use the pesos for some of the meals we may have off the ship. We rented a room at the Westin Marina in PV and I am sure we will be there for lunch

I am going to ask around some more, if I can't exchange them to pesos I will just hold onto them until we return to England someday.

Navigator Update:

If you are a task force leader, except for Peter, you should have received a PM from me this morning. Please respond ASAP to confirm the information (many of you have already - thanks!). Peter, I'll send your's tonight, the rugby info is on my other computer.

If you are planning an event and didn't receive a PM from me, and you name is not Peter, that means the event is not currently listed in the Pirate Navigator draft. Please send me the information ASAP!!!

Here is a list of activities I have so far. Please note that I did not inlcude things that will be in the regular DCL Navigator such as Mickey Mouse Club Night, Catholic Mass, etc. To keep this post from being 8 pages long, I'm only listing the day, time and title here - more details will be in the navigator. I loved the "don't pick up anything heavier than the baby" speech. That lasted about 3 days - I also had a 21 month old!

I've had the 20 month old at home post c-section twice now - not fun! That time the older kids were 5 and 7. They stayed with my parents and the baby and I spent aaaallllll day in the hospital every day.

It's kind of a long story, but his surgery needed to happen asap and the baby was due. I went for an amnio to see how early they could deliver the baby and my surgery was moved up a week to that I would have time to recover before it was his turn.

Two weeks to the day of my c-section I drove him to the hospital with baby in tow. He was preped for surgery and the Dr. examined him and determined that he was so infected he would need to be admitted and the surgery would have to wait. So we spent a week in the hospital (I was back and forth), home for a week and back to the hospital for the surgery.

The scariest part was knowing his colon might perferate and not be able to be saved (which is not as scary as if he had somthing life-threatening). Diverticulitis - don't mess with it!

When times are tough, I look back on those days and say "I can do anything!"

GOsh - this makes absolutely no sense to me - I'm going to have to bribe Des to lunch so she fills me in on all the details. Not tomorrow though, dd 15 gets her moles removed tomorrow and looks like she may to go in for emergency wisdome teeth removal. Lovely, looks like its raining again. SIGH! Oh well, when it rains, it pours! :rotfl:

:rotfl2:

I will keep April in my thoughts and prayers!
