There's only 1 Pirate Night Mike.

Arrr......Disney may have only one official 'Prirate Night', but me tinks the Captain and the crew be up for a fair bit 'o piratin' every night.

Anyone else thinking M volunteered for bikini mud wrestling

:rotfl: :rotfl:

I was shocked when DH wanted to do the test pack. He usually waits until the night before to pack. I think he is worried about all the dress nights as he is a casual type of guy. No tux, but I did talk him into bringing a suit. I also told him not to worry about it, as long as we have our documents, some underwear and the clothes on our back we are golden. I told him not to sweat the small stuff (of course I am not following my own advice:lmao:).

That is what Jon tells me before every trip! LOL!

Needless to say we are very happy with our decision to buy a house so the kids could attend a better school. We haven't regretted it for one second. :) We actually signed a contract a couple days ago for the old house and if things go the way they look so far we will be closing the end of this month.

That's great!!

That is too funny! I need to take DS9 shopping with me more often. Last week when we went to Kohl's he kept telling me that I should get that shirt and this dress would look great too. :lmao:

:thumbsup2 When I came home from Marshalls yesterday 7dd saw my new shoes and said *Those are oo la la shoes!* :rotfl: :rotfl:

Those of us that have had bad things happen to us know what the 'catch him before we do' attitude is all about. I never thought I would have those feelings but when my young family member was kidnapped and murdered, those thoughts just pop into your head. Thank goodness for our sanity and keeping us from a long trial, he (the kidnapper & murderer) took care of himself when he could not escape the police! I hope to never have to go through that type of thing again. Hugs to you and your family for this difficult time.

BTW: this happened very, very close to you in Arizona back in 1989!

Dsis 1st husband liked to beat the crude out of her....one night the police brought her (and their baby) to my house and her face was swollen and messed up (this was the first time that I found out that he beat her). I had dreams for months afterwards about hurting him.... :scared1: :sad2:

This is DS12 Thomas relaxing on our Jordan's comfy couch at the Guess Who concert at the Hatch Shell in Boston last night... I won a trivia contest to the comfy seats & we had a blast....munched on chips & cheese, great music, the best weather - what more could we want? But we wanted to take that couch home!!! All in all it was an awesome day for us:cool1:

~Penny

Looks and sounds like fun!!!

Congrats on the Trivia Contest. We've been attending Movie in the Park the last two weekends. Last night was Sandlot. It also had a trivia contest for the comfy seats, but I purposely didn't hand in my trivia contest sheet as I didn't want to be tempted by the pizza and other food due to my TOAL diet. I feel like the show Biggest Loser with the final month approaching -- last chance workout and diet! I've got 5 more lbs to go before the TOAL!

You can do it!!!! :dance3: :dance3:

Hi All!

Guess it's time I get myself in gear! It seemed so far away and now Im packing!

I do have some questions, We are staying at GCH precruise and still need DL tickets. What's the best place to purchase?

Also interested in making magnets and fish extender for our door.

We are getting excited!:cool1: :cool1:

 Howdy neighbor!!

I did not ignore you. I just chose a better offer....scuba in the pool with DD. :lovestruc

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Good luck with the last 5 lbs! I feel like I'm in the last weeks of training for a marathon myself.

Ok sorry about this but the disboards will not let me qoute anyone today... But anyway.. congrats on the training. I too am in training but for a 5k.. now if you knew me and saw me you would laugh to think.. your running.. Well, yes I am. When i did my first 1 min run I thought I was going to die... 1 min run 5 min walk and than we have advanced the past 9 weeks. now i run 10 walk 1x3... The sad thing is the 5k i was planning on doing is the day before we sail.. So instead My son and I wil do a BUD run in September after we get back. They had the "Boilermaer" today in Utica, NY over 5000 people including the blind govenor. now that gives me so much insentive to get my but in gear.. I hope to do the Disney 1/2 marathon in 2010..

In fact I just ran the block with the dogs..

Is anyone doing the "OUTDOOR ADVENTURE " in Peurto Vallarta?..

Congratulations on your acomplishment!!! :yay: I know it is tough work when you first start out!!! I don't run (arthritis in one of my knees) but, I do walk (fast) and ride my bike!

There's only 1 Pirate Night Mike.

Um . . . not quite right, in a manner of speaking.

I am one of the many people staying on for the 5 day cruise that lasts until September 6th. I'm just assuming that there will be a pirate night on that cruise as well. So, I wanted to be covered for both! :)

Mike, I forget which night it is on that one. Gonna have to be more casual for the formal night though, I sure don't want to pay for a 2nd tux rental for Alan and Adam.:)

Okay about these door magnets things....

Is there a thread somewhere around here with INSTRUCTIONS on how to do them?
the magnet stuff I bought didn't work and had to be returned (it was magnet paper with backing you take off that was supposed to be sticky underneath the backing but it wasn't sticky! Probably old since I bought it at the dollar store. LOL) -so I'm not sure ...... what is the LEAST expensive way to make door magnets? I've heard of some elaborate stuff like laminating stuff then using magnets/etc. I just want to know the cheapest way.

And I've heard of magnet paper- that you can print on? If I'm remembering that right- does it work with any printer or only certain ones/types?

I think we're gonna end up with a bare door (again) if I don't figure out how to do these! too expensive to order- it's only inexpensive if you're ordering tons of the SAME design magnet- not if the magnets are all different.

LOL

 Here is my idea and what I always do...
Ok...Being the un computer "Savvy" person that I am...this is what I do.
I buy Magnetic Photo Pockets. You can get them at Michael's Craft Store (near the frames), or Jo Ann Fabrics, or online.
To give you an idea of what i am talking about here is a picture at a site i found randomly
http://www.misterart.com/g3830/Magt...htm?WT.mc_n=froogle&WT.mc_t=CPC&WT.mc_id=3830
I then copy off the pictures on my normal at home printer at the sizes I want them to fit into. I have ALL different sizes of these pockets. I print any number I want and stack them behind. For example. Our girls had 5 princess related ones 5 Pirate Night related ones,...on each day all they had to do was change the papers (pics) inside the photo holders.
They have the magnetic backing just like the paper. I am to cheap to keep replacing the magnetic paper door signs so this allows me to change the signs everytime I cruise.
It is really cool to hear people walk by each day and say nice things about the designs changing on our doors.
They are reusable and I have never had one give out in 2 years.
Hope this gives you some ideas.

Okay - here is the FE I made. Hope you all like it!!

Chrissie

It was great meeting you Tina :yay:

I said it in person at midnight, but I'll say it again -- HAPPY ANNIVERSARY !!!

You stayed up after we left? We needed to get back to the hotel to hear how Jeff's night at the wedding went. Apparently Jeff got too, too drunk and wanted to sleep outside of our room. After he passed out there, his buddies were clapping and yelling to wake him up. I missed all this (slept through it), but Bill heard it all. I got the recap at 7am when Jeff's friends were getting coffee and talking loudly about it at the elevator. Yeah, the room was great  (for those that didn't get it, we don't know or care who Jeff was, just a drunk outside of our hotel room). You should have called me and I would have joined the party!!!

It was a great time!! I have 400 pictures to download and some work that needs to be done so the pictures will have to wait a bit. Thanks to Pamela & Dan and Cheryl & John for being great hosts! Cheryl, I'm sure I got you some good pictures of Mickey Dolenz :lovestruc

Only 400.....not enough!!!:lmao: :lmao:

pirate: 'ing the wishes. Hope you and John had a wonderful anniversary.

The end to a special day.

There's an informal chat going on on thepiratezone.info if anyone is interested (or trying to avoid work as I am)....

The excursion my kids want to go on was booked before we even got to the reservation site. That's what happens when you book at the last minute.

I tried to call the excursion location - dolphins in Puerto Vallarta - and they told me Disney has ALL the spots reserved for that day. Does Disney pre-booked all spots or do they hold some for the ship. If they hold some do you knows how many. My kids are already disappointed that we are not doing the zip line [Long story -Don't ask] and I don't want them to be disappointed twice. :guilty: :guilty:

We are actually doing a Dolphin Encounter on our own at Sea Life Park in Puerto Vallarta. Their prices seemed to be a bit better than Disney's (although you do need to pay cabfare there and back) and they have a water park that you can enjoy as well. Someone had posted about this place on the Trip Reports board a while back... http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1864191.

Help!! Any California Pirates!

We're were flying into LAX. Is it as bad as the PassPorter makes it out to be:scared1: ?

We could change to John Wayne (gotta tell you, that it'd be cool) but costs more time and money.

Any input would be welcome.

Thanks,

Jack

Hey Jack,
I don't know what you've heard about it being "bad" - but I've been flying between San Francisco (SFO) and Los Angeles (LAX) about once a month for the past 4 years and I have encountered very FEW problems. Holidays are bad - as can be expected.
We are flying from SFO to LAX for this cruise - don't anticipate any problems. Actually - I'm more concerned about MCO (Orlando) than LAX!!
