She is going somewhere close. She wants to live at home while going to College. :)

Samantha loves water parks. She'll be home in 10 days. :yay:  We can plan for HF when she gets home. :)
:yay:
That sounds like a fine idea to me! :)

(oh and about the college thing. That's cool :) )

Okay about these door magnets things....

Is there a thread somewhere around here with INSTRUCTIONS on how to do them?
the magnet stuff I bought didn't work and had to be returned (it was magnet paper with backing you take off that was supposed to be sticky underneath the backing but it wasn't sticky! Probably old since I bought it at the dollar store. LOL) -so I'm not sure ...... what is the LEAST expensive way to make door magnets? I've heard of some elaborate stuff like laminating stuff then using magnets/etc. I just want to know the cheapest way.

And I've heard of magnet paper- that you can print on? If I'm remembering that right- does it work with any printer or only certain ones/types?

I think we're gonna end up with a bare door (again) if I don't figure out how to do these! too expensive to order- it's only inexpensive if you're ordering tons of the SAME design magnet- not if the magnets are all different.

And another question- I found the free disney font online and downloaded it- but can't figure out how to USE it. What image program are people using to use this font and other designs/etc. to make the cool designs for the magnets? I need help LOL

Take VERY good care of your tickets, because Disneyland WILL NOT replace lost tickets under any circumstances. It doesn't matter if you have your receipt, a photocopy of the tickets, or whatever. They just won't do it. (They will replace Annual Passes for a fee, but that's the only exception.)

This is quoted from mousesavers.. I bought our tickets at our local disney store and they gave me a separate receipt and told me in case we lost any tickets that receipt will get us our ticket again.. We paid the same amt as all the other places. Good luck getting a good price!!:thumbsup2

What carriers will sell it.. I love my GPS.. the one on my phone is pretty good as long as you have coverage...

They haven't announced yet. But it will be either AT&T or T-Mobile, as it's a GSM phone and those are the only two GSM networks in the U.S.

and on another note: I can't find the kids thread on the pirate zone- can someone link me please? I've just been wandering around the pirate zone website but for some reason I can't even find the forums there- just the website. why do I always get lost there? something is wrong with me. LOL

Shelley,

The website for kids is at http://thepiratezone.info/mambo/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=104&Itemid=81 (its really for adults, just lists the other adults with kids your age - your kids and all others that were pending have been added)

The kids boards on the piratezone are at http://www.thepiratezone.us/viewforum.php?f=42

Nothing wrong with you, lots of people get lost!

My door signs are just designs printed on cardstock, with magnets from a magnet roll. The magnet is cut into pieces and attached to the back of the cardstock. Very simple and easy.

I am so glad I am not the only one with this disablility..lol I just dug out my bag of magnets from the last cruise. Some are laminated, magneted paper, reg paper with magnets on the back.. I can get a picture on paper but I dont know how to add words on the picture without having a box around the words and then it shows white on the pictures...I need classes..:confused3

I thought you couldn't do that... :confused3

Checkout the mousesavers link. You can't use DL @ WDW and you also can't use Annual passes, but you can use unexpired WDW tickets. If you have the PH option on them you will get a one day PH for DL, if not just a 1 day/1park. You also have to do this daily--can't get a 2 day at the same time.:)

Good luck with the last 5 lbs! I feel like I'm in the last weeks of training for a marathon myself.
__________________
Ok sorry about this but the disboards will not let me qoute anyone today... But anyway.. congrats on the training. I too am in training but for a 5k.. now if you knew me and saw me you would laugh to think.. your running.. Well, yes I am. When i did my first 1 min run I thought I was going to die... 1 min run 5 min walk and than we have advanced the past 9 weeks. now i run 10 walk 1x3... The sad thing is the 5k i was planning on doing is the day before we sail.. So instead My son and I wil do a BUD run in September after we get back. They had the "Boilermaer" today in Utica, NY over 5000 people including the blind govenor. now that gives me so much insentive to get my but in gear.. I hope to do the Disney 1/2 marathon in 2010..

In fact I just ran the block with the dogs..

Is anyone doing the "OUTDOOR ADVENTURE " in Peurto Vallarta?..

Congrats on the 5k training...it takes quite a bit of time to get back into running. I've been either rollerblading or biking for about 45 to 60 minutes everyday. Yesterday, we biked for about 90 minutes and wished we could have gone further. The exercising part is "easy" -- it's the eating light that's getting really difficult on this home stretch.

We're not doing the Outdoor Adventure, but we are doing the non-Disney zipline tour.

I thought you couldn't do that... :confused3

With respect to using WDW tickets at DL -- I didn't think you could do that either. Can someone confirm one way or the other?:confused3 Thanks!

As far as the paper goes, there are a number of options. You could pay to have them done at most picture places, but that can be costly. You can use magnetic photo frames (pouches):

j-mp_2.jpg
which I found on-line but have seen at K-Mart recently (last few months).

Last is the true magnetic paper which can get costly also.

As far as making the images, I think there are a bunch of programs being used, Photoshop, Publisher, etc. You could do them in any program you feel comfortable. If you knew what you wanted, you might even find someone on the thread who could put it together for you??

The font needs to be in the "fonts" directory on your computer to work. Depending on the type of font, it may need to be installed vs. just copied. You may also need to restart (or dog out :lmao: :lmao: ) to get it to work.

Posted too quick! Thank's Paula. I think we have two days leftover on one of our WDW passes. I'll see if we can exchange those two days. That'd save us as we were only planning to do two days at DL.

pirate:ing the Congrats!!!

Also... Big day yesterday! :cool1:  Got our booty!!!! Thanks to all who made this possible... Can't wait to meet everyone to thank them in person!!!!!

This is DS12 Thomas relaxing on our Jordan's comfy couch at the Guess Who concert at the Hatch Shell in Boston last night... I won a trivia contest to the comfy seats & we had a blast....munched on chips & cheese, great music, the best weather - what more could we want? But we wanted to take that couch home!!! All in all it was an awesome day for us:cool1:

~Penny

The Guess Who....COOL :cool2: :cool2: .Congrats on winning the trivia contest and the comfy seats at the hatchshell.

Ahhhh, sounds like a great night on The Charles.

I am waaay too over-tired. I just had visions of filling up the Goofy pool with mud.

Hey M....you in????

The mud would be great for our skin!

Chrissie

Nothing like a free spa treatment, that's what I always say :thumbsup2

Wow everyone is getting their packages today.:thumbsup2
Has anyone who had the unfortunate honor having the last mailings for the stimulus checks, gotten their checks yet??? We got a notice Wed that they were coming.Just curious.

We got our check a few days after the notice......already spent :confused3

:
WE HAVE A GREAT GROUP :cheer2:

Michelle

Yes, we do :thumbsup2

not that his outfits look any better mind you, because it's hard to work with green & red t-shirts & bright green & orange shorts, black socks & sneakers. Grown-up Garanimals? I think you have something there!

All's he needs is a pair of lime green crocs - they go with everything :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Question for the DCL experts.....

If I needed to have something delivered to the ship during the cruise, is this possible? Can DCL have it shipped to a port and then brought to me? How?

Did we just have a pirate at 1500??? I :confused3 missed it again...

It will save us too! I know that I have 3--7 days that have at least 4 days on them and then 3 more 7 days that have at least 5 on them----but 1 set isn't where I keep. We still haven't decided if we are doing 2 days or just 1. I guess we will wait and see if we get a chance to do everything in 1.:goodvibes

Hmmmm maybe it would make the red t-shirt & bright orange shorts look like they belong together!

It was great meeting you Tina :yay:

You stayed up after we left? We needed to get back to the hotel to hear how Jeff's night at the wedding went. Apparently Jeff got too, too drunk and wanted to sleep outside of our room. After he passed out there, his buddies were clapping and yelling to wake him up. I missed all this (slept through it), but Bill heard it all. I got the recap at 7am when Jeff's friends were getting coffee and talking loudly about it at the elevator. Yeah, the room was great  (for those that didn't get it, we don't know or care who Jeff was, just a drunk outside of our hotel room).

It was a great time!! I have 400 pictures to download and some work that needs to be done so the pictures will have to wait a bit. Thanks to Pamela & Dan and Cheryl & John for being great hosts! Cheryl, I'm sure I got you some good pictures of Mickey Dolenz :lovestruc

It was nice meeting you and Bill. Sounds like your hotel was rowdy like mine. We did have a better night in the quite wing!

Thanks Esteri.. they look great..

we had a great time at the Midwest Meeting.. thanks Pam and Dan for everything and sharing your lovely house with us.. great to meet everyone.. Sorry that we had to leave so early but we had to get Eric..

It was great meeting you and Scott. Kids sure do cut our fun short sometimes!

Esteri, my box was waiting for me! Thanks again!

Well, we are home. An uneventful ride home. We got turned around in Chicago and got to see the lake and skyline. Man those tolls were killing me!

The excursion my kids want to go on was booked before we even got to the reservation site. That's what happens when you book at the last minute.

I tried to call the excursion location - dolphins in Puerto Vallarta - and they told me Disney has ALL the spots reserved for that day. Does Disney pre-booked all spots or do they hold some for the ship. If they hold some do you knows how many. My kids are already disappointed that we are not doing the zip line [Long story -Don't ask] and I don't want them to be disappointed twice. :guilty: :guilty:

MaryAnn This has some great images. Whose are they and do we need to ask permission before using them:confused3 I'd love to make some into door signs:lovestruc

This was shared on our thread quite a while ago . At the time it was posted, I didn't have time to look at & work with it so I just book-marked it. Honestly, I have no idea who originally posted the link on our thread :confused3

We all had a great mini meet!!! :cheer2:  :cool1: I am sure Pamela or Tracy will have pictures to post!!! Great weather....great food.....great fireworks.......and great friends. What a wonderful day this has been.::grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug::grouphug:

Sounds like a great day...glad you all had fun. Can't wait for pitcures

Thank you, thank you, thank you for that link. I have been looking for a blank scroll to do something for DSs bday and it was on there!

That saved me hours of going through the magnet thread

Michelle

Michelle,

FYI - in Staples the other day I saw that same blank scroll in "poster size". It was the exact same graphic....I almost got it for my DD's school poster project she is doing for this trip, but I don't think it would work. However, for a birthday party.......

Attention !!!!!!!!

Stop yelling at me...I have a hangover (again :headache: )
No Tom that is not Austyn. But I did go back and find a picture of the two of them when they were about two. Austyn is sitting with Cherie on the right and Julianna is getting in the chair next to her. It was PJ day and the first day we had met.

PA311295.jpg

That is too funny!!!! Talk about six degrees
