I really think that the gorilla thing is way out of hand. It isn't funny and I am sure that Stace is not aprreciating it right now. I really think that those of you that added it to your siggies should remove it and that you all owe Stace an apology.

As a wife of a retired military, I do not think kidnapping or prisoners of war are a big joke, but the original comment was not meant to be taken seriously.

How many of us have said "Oh, I could have just strangled him", in a totally joking manner? Well, I am sure there are people that have lost family members this way who may take offense.

The image in my signature was to support a friend (going through a tough time), who I felt was chastised publicly. Nothing more.

Hi all busy day today. This was one of the few days that Cherie and I were both off together before we leave next month. First I got word that my DF was back in the hospital with rule out pneumonia and DM was not well either. They are both OK, just added to our running. We headed out and ended up at DTD having lunch at ESPN Zone. We walked around the hotels to check out the shops and a trip to Disney Store. Found some cool trinkets that will be prizes for the Treasure hunt. We also had to get a couple of Mouseketeer hats and a couple of other things. Did not get to go into the parks but the funny thing was it was not very crowed in DTD at all I asked a few CMs and they said it has been like that this summer. Again, I don't know what it was like in the parks.

Well from DTD we headed off to my parents house which is about 10 miles from the port. We had to kill a few minutes so we swung by the DT to get a copy of the menus. I have posted them on the planning board. I talked to a couple of the waiters and again they told me that it would be no problem for 30-40 people for dinner.

Finally got home a couple of minutes ago and feel like I have been at DL all day. Dogs are barken and didn't even walk that much today.

I hope your parents are better soon. I am glad that you were able to spend the day together!

DH doesn't drink (well not unless we're on vacation atleast) but the latter works everytime because half the time I DO tell him stuff and he doesn't remember. So it's totally believable that I already told him something and he's just not remembering (or rather not listening....... LOL)

Hey everyone- are you getting excited yet? DH never gets excited BEFORE anything.... so he's not reciprocating my excitedness. I"m a mixture of getting excited AND getting a bit panicky. So much to do before we leave on the 11th!

I know what you mean. My flight was changed 3 hour later. Makes for a long day with time changes as well.

That's too bad. I've read that people join companies, but leave managers. Sounds like that's coming true for your DH. I don't subscribe to the view that you have to work lots of hours to be effective. When I was a new manager at KPMG, I was in the partner's office late one night and his phone rang. It was his wife who screamed into the phone, "YOU JUST MISSED ANOTHER DAY IN THE LIFE OF YOUR KIDS!" I heard it loud and clear and I usually have a hard time hearing. My oldest was only about 3 months old at the time, and I was quickly becoming a workaholic. My DW even accused me of becoming like that partner. That was the turning point where I decided that there's more to life than a work.

You hit the nail right on the head. He left public accounting because of those reasons and we thought this would be better. At least tax season has a start and end date, this just goes on and on and on. There is always some big new project or something. His philosopy is that if your work is caught up you shouldn't have to work weekends, tons of hours, etc. His boss just doesn't see it that way. My DS 10 really wants to play baseball and I just can't commit both kids to different activities and then get them there by myself every night. He also realized this year that he can never coach our DS's baseball or soccer team. I think he has finally seen this year that the kids are growing up way to fast and he is missing things that are once in a lifetime things with them and then those moments in their lives are gone. We just need to find him something where hard work is valued and family time is valued just as much as long as your work is done. Maybe you guys could share a drink of the day around the pool or something. This has been hard for him this year. Thanks for your thoughts, it is much appreciated. We were actually discussing your posts last night and I think he was going to read this morning on his commute into work.

this Thank You! I totally agree! This group of people are some of the nicest people I have virtually met! I was also lucky enough to meet a couple at Mary Ann's get-together recently... wish I could have stayed longer. As a first time cruiser I am so excited but also glad that I met everyone & got a lot of cool info so that I can truly enjoy my cruise. I'm not a regular poster (I jump in when I can), but I always have felt comfortable putting in my 2 cents worth whenever I could. The gentle ribbing & good natureness of this group is amazing. It's nice to know that in these times that there are people like you around... I know I'll feel comfortable going up to fellow DISers & saying Hi as soon as I hit California soil (not to long now!!!). It amazes me how much so many people have gone out of their way to make this trip so memorable. I only wish I could have contributed more... but I did what I could & everyone is comfortable with that...AMAZING! Well... gone on long enough... Thanks to all & see ya real soon!!!

I can't find Monica's post right now, from last night I think, but she also indicated from watching the DL board that there has only been one reported problem using the tickets and that if you have problems at the gate to ask for a supervisor.

Von's is down the street from my house and it would be easy for me to get tickets for anyone who needs them.
