We were handed these cards as we entered the port. Thought someone might be interested in how the terminal was layed out and what the check-in process was in 2005.

There is always great debate on the main boards about whether or not one person can check-in for your party. In three previous cruises, DH has always been returning a rental car while I checked us all in. In 2005 they asked that only one person go to the check-in counter. It should be even easier this year since passports are required.

THANK YOU!!! This is great information to have. :)

Not real super pictures, but they'll do. Here's Kevin's,the necklace is actually the tooth from a Kodiak bear that his mom shot back in the early 40's.

And Here's mine. I only wish I was as small as my mannequin!

I found the necklace purely by accident as I was running thru Penneys.

Awesome thank you! :cool1:

I must be tired. I read this as laptop dancing

No I'm the crazy one! She's still relatively innocent! ;)

Hi all! DH and I are on this cruise. It's crunch time. I still need another bikini and pair of evening shoes. The bikini part scares me. :scared1:

And I'd like to give a shout out to Caropooh. ;)

Welcome!!! :flower3:

I am loving all the Pirate night costumes! I have to admit that DH and I will probably be hiding in our room that night. On our last cruise, I took MIL and the kids up nto watch the show and fireworks. DH went back to the room. DH, the stinker, got to see the fireworks on our verandah. He made it up to us by buying some pictures from Shutters. I think we are going to skip the whole craziness since we have seen it twice now.

We are local to port canveral (and the area) if you need any help.

Debi, You did a fantastic job on the costumes. You and Kev will look AWEsome!
:thumbsup2

Isn't there someone who posted in the last 24 hours that their TA thought that they had a room to upgrade to from I think a 12 or 11? If anyone remembers who that was maybe your TAs can work out a trade with DCL???

Rillsung (Teri) I believe wants an upgrade from a 12

Yes that was us. The problem is that we don't have a lot of money to upgrade. They offered us pretty much the max for what we were willing to pay for an upgrade :(

OH MY GOSH!!!! That poor little girl -- and mom & dad watching this horror take place!!!!! If we were near I'ld bring over the Rum Runners!!!

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: for you and your DD. :( I can't understand why they can't do what they are being paid to do. DS was 18 months when he was admitted for dehydration. It hit him so quickly. :( He was asleep for five hours before they came to put the IV in him and said that they didn't allow parents in the room. Since I was 6 months pregnant I tried not to let the hormones rule and let them take him. When DH got there he saw me crying in the hall and heard DS screaming bloody murder. I could tell by the look on his face that I wasn't over reacting and walked right into the room to calm DS down. I told the nurse I was not going to stand out in the hall and listen to this any longer. My baby's arm looked like it had track marks. I calmed him down by reciting One Fish Two fish which we read before bed every night and told them to forget about his dried out arms, put it in his foot. They were concerned about his mobility. I told the nurse to forget about that since he had been sleeping for 5 hours, let me deal with it and get fluids into him ASAP. When I heard one of the nurses instructing the other how to insert the IV I gave them both the death stare and told them that my son was not a guinie pig and she was not to touch him any more. Later the lab nurse came in and pulled the same nonsense with pulling the needle in and out and moving it around. I told her to stop and the doctor would get the blood when he did rounds in another hour. It turned out she only needed to do a finger prick for what she needed.

:grouphug: Sorry, that took me to a bad place and I am really sorry you had to experience that today. :grouphug:

Sorry for taking you to such a bad place. There really isn't much that I would be willing to part with her for... After 3mo in the NICU, I saw way too much done to her. We did ask if we could watch the surgery too LOL... I'm kinda glad they said no! I have a horrible picture of her after her surgery when she was still intubated, had an IV in her wrist and forehead and she's MAD because she was probably in pain and didn't want the vent anymore...

OMG Terri! How absolutely horrible for your poor DD to experience and you to have to watch!

Reading both Terri's and your stories made me so thankful that DS didn't have to experience anything like this the one time he had an IV and blood work done.

DGKs had to get blood work every 6 months since infants. We had a tech at Nemours who did all the kids. It is hard to find one outside at any of the labs that can be quick and hit the right spot.DH has bloodwork done pretty much every month and he will show them where to go on his hand if they miss it on the arm.He has those rolling veins which are hard to grab.We have been lucky at our lab but I have to say the Drs office used to do it and the girl did the wiggle the needle under the skin thing and he went ballistic on her.The girl must have been fresh out of school. That is when they gave us the script to go outside. Call around and find a lab that handles little ones.

We have 1 place in town that does this :( The whole problem with being in the boonies again... Though we are going to the (very very small) childrens hospital in Abq on Tuesday, so I am going to see if we can transfer the order down there somehow... Maybe they'd have someone that knows how to take blood from an 18mo old!

Thanks everyone for the hugs!

Hydrate! Hydrate! Hydrate! If you can "push" in her some extra liquids, it would hydrate her veins and it would make it easier to get in her vein.

The problem is, how much to I push into her??? Since she's tube fed, she could get too much water...

You're missing us! In 2021

I PM'ed her. We have Me, DH, and DD (18mo)

Our flights were taken care of by DCL and we just got our flight info yesterday. But we paid for everything back in May. Do you think we still have to pay for our luggage?

American charges $15 for your first bag and $25 for your second bag if you booked your ticket on or after June 15. If we paid for our tickets back in May, but DCL just finalized everything for us last week, does that count as purchasing our tickets before June 15? Or are we going to be paying $80 to get our 4 bags home? :confused3

Maybe I'll have to call DCL to find out, but thought someone on here might know. I think I noticed a few people who had their flight arrangements done by DCL as well. Thanks.

We are flying American too and our TA said we would probably have to pay the baggage fees since it was booked after the June 15th date. Our TA is on vacation so I can't confirm, but I am going to be prepared to pay for all 3 bags. I have to check Delta's baggage policy as we fly them back from Orlando.

Cruisin'Mike...I got your PM. I can't PM yet. ;) It's just DH and me. We are making it up to the kids with Adventures by Disney trips when they turn 18. MIL doesn't care for cruises (how odd is that??!!??!?)

Hello All!
What a week to be out of touch! Just got back from a week in the mountains with poor internet service.
We are room # 6064!:cool1: Looks like a great room ( mid ship, port side) except for the PC day /picture thing. Does anyone know about this for sure? Should we make a banner for PC crossing day?
Janelle

Thanks for all the compliments on the costumes guys. Didn't think I'd ever get them finished! I had to "cheat" a bit and get some things off of ebay(Kev's shirt and I had my bodice custom made). I hand sewed Kev's vest and my chemise. I have a pair of dark brown, suede boots to go with mine and Kev will be wearing his lace up mocs. I also haven't quite decided what to wear for a scarf/headband yet,I have a couple of options. :confused3

Which ABD??????? We did the Spirit of America last year -- LOVED IT!!!!! AS soon as we sell a house we will book another one! We are hoping to do one of the Italy ones!

And may I ask why you even looked this :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Yeah....um.....it was right there in front of me when I signed on this morning. I got curious to see if the Chateau Marmont in BH was going to be on there and then ......VOILA! I saw Cartegena.........so now, we just wait and watch to see if any of our crew disappears for a litt tete^a^tete in the afternoon........:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

They had a band!!! And all I remember about it was it was too loud in such a confined area:rotfl:

Amen to that one - that was one of the first times I realized I was actually getting old - the music was too loud! :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Here's the Windows way to do it.

1) Get the Castaway Cay CD - the 1st track is Welcome Aboard which has the whistle.
2) Get it into iTunes
3) Highlight the track, and select 'Convert to AAC' - a new track will appear.
4) Select the new track and do a 'show in Windows Explorer' from the File menu.
5) Copy the file somewhere safe (I keep a ringtones folder) and delete it from iTunes (keep the original).
6) Turn on 'show file extensions' in Windows - 'Ctrl Panel->Folder Options' and uncheck 'Hide extensions for known file tyles'
7) Rename the track to from xxxxx.m4a to xxxxx.m4r (this makes iTunes think it's a Ringtone)
8) Double click on the newly renamed file and iTunes will import it into your ringtone folder.
9) Enable syncing of Ringtones and voila.
10) On your iPhone, go to settings, sounds, ringtone, and your track should now appear as a 'Custom' tone which you can select.

Ta da,

Andy

Sure Andy, make it sound easy! But Thanks - I've printed them and am going to work on it on the ship!

:worship: :worship: You DA Man Andy! :thumbsup2
