When I was about 4 I am told that I plugged my DB's brand new speaker wires into a wall socket :scared: DM had to lock me in a room to save my life.

When I was about 10, I thought I would be a good sister and washed all my older DB's brand new jeans (that he paid for himself) and added some bleach before I started the washer so they would be nice and clean :laundy: . Well, my heart was in the right place :rolleyes1

My oldest called just a little bit ago...... He just talked to a friend of his (they are 28 now and have known each other since they were about 9 or 10). His friend called him to let him know that his 9 month old baby boy (we have known his wife since they were either in Jr Hi or just starting HS...) was diagnosed with Cancer today. :sad1:

They will do surgery to remove his tumors next week and then a few days later they will put in his port.
I am heartbroken for them.

What a horrible shock for the family. Our prayers go out to your friends.:flower3:

How are you feeling!!:confused3

I thought a side effect of Cipro was diarrhea?

Mike, Roger?

Levaquin is my choice of drug because of this reaction to me.:rolleyes1

....which reminds...me..dear mismce....i liketo share..what i think..are
very effective..preventions...for those with cardiac...conditions? :flower3:

#1 ..as it is for..all of us? [ * that add years..to one's life]? handwashing!
..remember..preventing..colds/flu's...those are killers to heart pts! psst,
handwashing..before..and after.#2 "digestion" ...it is absolute..crazy...to
smoke..after eating. [ it's like runnning & smoking @ the same time. the
process of digestion..is when your heart is under..the most stress. then
avoiding..overeating..should be self evident, :teacher:

..just the other..day..we admitted a pt. ..who was depressed because he
just had a mi? how stupid..is that? * sometimes..feeling depress ..after
a loss [ lke a parent/ even health status]..is normal. :sad2: ..just had a
mi..& was never taught....the basics...post care, . not only
something..wrong..i'll be ashamed..to have been..that neglectful..or worst..
they don't understand?

..oh, thanks, mismce...for your "happy thoughts"...however, i get alot of
practice...all the time,..dealing...with....dangerous...people. psst,
i 'll..go in..armed..with syringe + haldol, :wizard: ..see? magic..wand, too!

Thanks Lil' Grumpy for the tips for heart patients. :thumbsup2 The only really hard part is the overeating!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

The person who had the MI should get dwon and pray they lived through it. The first reation though is always anger. After you think about things a little more clearly.............you are grateful to be given a second chance.:flower3: I know I was.

Any antibiotic can cause nausea/vomiting/cramps/diarrhea because it kills off the bacteria that live in your gut. Cipro is not know for diarrhea if you are taking it for short periods of time (ie. Travelers Diarrhea). One word of warning though, if you take Cipro or any drug in that family, they will increase your sensitivity to the sun. Beware if you take these stay out of the sun.

Sorry that I have not been around. After K problems at work, I have not been using the internet except for work the last couple of weeks. I am currently involved in some disputes with our current boss (#23 in the last 10yrs) and I don't want to take any chances this close to TOAL. I think I will take my laptop to work tomorrow and see if I have time to make it chat (the beauty of wireless networks).

Debi, regarding sea sick medications, check with your doctor. You should be able to take meclizine, maybe not :confused3 the patch, same for ginger.

Hope everyone has a great 4th of July!

Meclizine was a definite choice for even John with all his heart problems. :thumbsup2 We are taking low dosage as a preventative too......just in case seas get a little rough without warning.:flower3:

Roger...just keep a low profile til the new owners takeover!!!:rolleyes1

I can't even imagine what those parents are going through right now. Prayers that everything goes well :grouphug: :grouphug:

Children and Grandchildren...you got to love them!!!

My DGD(the almost 4 year old that had Salmonella) decided to see if a Polly Pocket purple high heel shoe could fit up her nose today. :headache: :headache: I am doing my job today and DD calls to see if I could come with her to the Doctors office to watch my DGS. I told John to stay and finish the movies. While she was coming to get me.........two cars ahead of her decided to hit a huge break-away light pole.:scared1: :scared1: The car hit the pole and went into a ditch. My daughter missed the car in front of her by inches. The break-away pole flew over three lanes and just missed her car!!! :sad2: My daughter called 911 and the police asked if she could stay by the accident scene. :confused3 She said no she had to rush her daughter to the doctors. The police asked if she need to get an ambulance. Daughter said no.........there was just a shoe up her nose daughter's nose.I think my hair should be totally white by the time we cruise this August. BTW...the doctor did get out the purple shoe.:headache: :headache: :headache:

Your DGD is having a very eventful week, isn't she?

In August, is it normal to still be this cool in the AM in San Pedro?

This is the normal most of the summer, late night early morning low clouds becoming sunny in the late morning and afternoon. When we really get a heat wave and the winds change to blow off shore it will clear up but that does not happen regularly. I will try to report on the daily weather from here out since people are starting to get ready.

Who would want to wear those orange shorts outside the restaurant????

I've never been to Hooters. There are just some business that I refuse to give my money to.

A co-worker of mine keeps saying that someday he'll open a restaurant called "Bananas" where all the servers are men and the uniform is basically a speedo, no shirt. As a guy, of course he likes Hooters, but he feels that if a business is going to objectify women like that, then we women should have a place to go where men are also objectified. It makes me laugh to know that he though of it. :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Please say a prayers for my husbands friend. He woke up yesterday and found his wife dead on the bathroom floor.

Oh my! I will add them to our prayers.

Prayers for the family. My DS20 has a friend who is a survivor from that age (neuroblastoma), and there is so much more they can do now.

That is what he has.
I am so grateful at all the advances in Cancer treatments! I have a DB that was diagnosed (10yrs ago) with a type of Lymphoma that the Dr had told him that if he had had it just a few years earlier was nearly a sure death sentence! But, in those few yrs the advances were so great that he had a 80% chance at beating it! He did! :goodvibes

Steph - your post really hit close to home
A friend had her son diagnosed with liver cancer (very rare) when he was 9 months old but unfortunately he lost the fight when he was 2 1/2. I hope that their fight ends on a positive note

We (the Father of this baby & DS & us) have another friend that lost their child right around his 3rd b-day. He was diagnosed at about 6wks with Cancerious tumors down his spine. It was incredibly sad. This happened when the boys were about 14/15 -- it was the little brother of one of their best friends. These boys (the 3 of them) grew up living next door and then just a few blocks away from each other until they went away to college.

What a horrible shock for the family. Our prayers go out to your friends.:flower3:

How are you feeling!!:confused3

I am doing MUCH better thank you! Now I am just stressed with the news we received last night and Samantha & Michael's trip. I hope to get a chance to relax soon! :)

Gotta run! TTYL!

Can I go NOW?????? hotter than snot here

So I'm either the coolest mom or the worst mom. But DS and I go to Hooters a LOT. Even planning on making a run to the one in Aruba while we're there. I really do love the wings. The only other place that I truly like the hot wings is a small chain in Memphis.

My favorite local in Memphis is D'bos mmm.. we are in Memphis right now and that sounds like a wonderful 4th item......

We went to the Redbirds game last night and Nick was selected to be Kid of the Day and was able to yell " PLAY BALL" after the national anthem.

Used to be a place here called "Cheeks". All the gals loved it. Too bad it didn't stay in business.

There IS a place for the men called "The Candy Store". My friend is a bank manager, and she had an older lady customer, whose husband had just passed away. She'd gotten the credit card bill, and took it to the bank to have them check the charges that she thought were not theirs.
She said "My husband couldn't have made these charges at a candy store, he was diabetic"
:rotfl::rotfl: My friend had such a hard time keeping a straight face, and didn't have the heart to tell the old lady the truth, so she reversed the charges.

Desiree, I hope it grows out quickly. I am so sorry. Hopefully today will be better for you!:)

I used to go to a stylist who's ads read "Best Haircut Guaranteed". I asked him once what the guarantee was.
He said "If you don't like it, it's guaranteed to grow out".

I was filling out both DD's camp stuff today. I realized I had the wrong dates in my head for when they are going! I thought it was Aug 3-8, but no, it's Aug 10-15! :scared1: So, they'll come home Friday afternoon and we leave 6:00AM Sunday morning for the cruise! Can you say BUSY SATURDAY for us? YIKES!!! This also means that we have to have everything ready for school before they leave for camp! School starts Sept 2!

Good thing you checked those dates again! My DD has cheer camp that week, and on Wednesday when we leave I have to pick her up from camp and head straight to the ferry I think. I don't even have the camp hours yet. I also have to have all the school stuff ready. We start the 3rd, but we have a couple of appointments to squeeze in on Tuesday. You will be very busy. Maybe we could have a school supply shopping trip one day??

Just got this message in from the Dolphin pod that tends to follow the ship...

HAPPY 4th of July everyone.

That is so cool! Congrats! :cool1:

A fairly new aquaintance saw me at the park one day.... I had my children and a nephew with me - the nephew was about 9 months..... He dropped his pacifier when it was getting to be time to leave and we had run out of water so, I spit on the pacifier, wiped it on my shirt and then popped it back in his mouth. The woman says *OMGosh. I now know that I am really going to like you.* :rotfl: :rotfl:

Actually with the first one I would not even pick it up other than to throw it away [True story when she was 6 days old we went to get her an outfit for her baby naming and she dropped it in the garage at Daytons aka Marshall Fields aka Macy's and I would not let my mother bring it home] With baby number two I would have put it in my mouth to clean it and out it back in his.

Put the American flag out (dont forget folks!) and doing a bit if Aruba planning before we head out to the S-I-L.

Found a great interactive map of the island... Check it out!
