Thanks for sharing the Legoland pic's - guess it means that I don't have a choice but to go there now. DH and DS would never forgive me if we didn't. We've pretty much firmed up our CA plans, just finalizing the food now. Hitting Legoland the afternoon of 8/14 after we arrive. CA on the 15th and DL on the 16th. We're doing breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen one day, have to go to the Rainforest at DTD - think we're going to do that on the 16th for an early lunch. It's dinner on the 16th and lunch on the 15th that have me stumped right now.

Sounds like our DL plans are flipped. We are then hitting DL on the 15th and CA on the 16th. We thought that we'd hit DL on Friday rather than Saturday hoping that it's slightly less crowded. In August, probably won't be able to tell anyway, but it's a theory. Additionally, with park hoppers we can always go back to DL on Saturday and do anything we might have missed.

Keep in mind, Christopher, that CA opens much later (at least 2 hours) than DL, so you can always hit DL early for a few hours on Saturday and STILL open CA . . . that's a big advantage to the way those parks are set up (and right across from each other, so super-easy to park hop).

Thnaks Juloe.............you can stop anytime now!!!:faint: :faint:

Juloe? My new nickname?:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Seriously, Cheryl, I know that the FE list is daunting but I really didn't want to set a date and cut off people from joining just because they got around to the boards late in the game . . . anyone is welcome to use just part of the list or something if the numbers get too big.

Thanks for the tip! I'm such a DL novice. After a dozen or so trips to WDW, I'm not used to having to do so much planning.

We'll be right there with you! Good theory, hope it works...

I think that is the coolest thing about Legoland...all the mini cities etc. Thanks for sharing the pictures, it brought back some nice memories!

Is the water play area newer? I don't remember that from our visit.

Yes the waterplay area is new and when that bucket fills up and tips over...you get completely drenched! LOL It is part of the new pirate area. I must say their new Indiana themed ride is....well, lets say....slightly pathetic - when compared to Buzz or the new Toy Story Mania!

also, their fast pass systems are different so you can run over to DCA and pick up FP's even if you have current DL ones. And I'm always shocked how many people don't know you can use your FP ANY time after your printed time, not only during the time window printed on it.

Well it is 10:15 and Leticia The Wonder Maid has not shown up yet. I think she got the weeks messed up. I was trying to tell her to not come next week but she must have thought it was this week. I even went so far as have my co-worker translate to Spanish so she would understand. This means I have to clean my own dang house. Normally I would not bother since we are going to be gone next week but since we have the housesitter, I need to clean somewhat. Bummer!

This is news to me, thanks for the tip! If I get a FP, how long do I have to wait before I can get another?

Any other great DL tips? I know WDW like the back of my hand, but I haven't been to DL in years. I'm feeling like a fish out of water.

Another question, I read (I think on allearsnet) that you cannot have a small child in your lap for Toy Story Mania. Do you know what the procedure is here? Should we make this our first stop of the day or should we run to Nemo first?

A lot I know about California......I never heard of Steakhouse 55.:confused3

It's in the Disneyland Hotel, I think.

Sssshhh... We like to keep that a secret :) That's the case for both WDW and DL. Also, you can use FPs on different days too as long as it's after the time. I've only seen them check a couple of times and it was super busy then.

It's the same as WDW around 2 hours before getting another FP

Does Toy Story Mania have FPs? If it does, I'd go to Nemo first. In fact like someone else said, you can go do Nemo at DL park opening and then go over to CA to do Toy Story mania. I haven't been since late last year, before Toy Story Mania so I don't know about small children.

See how ignorant I am - I didn't realize Toy Story Mania was at CA, I thought it was at DL :confused3

CA usually opens at 10 - 9 (at this time of year - I think). If you go into DL before hand, make sure you nab fastpasses for going on something later on. At DL/CA the end time on fast passes mean nothing - they only care about the return time and the fastpass machines between the two parks are not connected.

We are in Concierge at the DL hotel so that should lessen our food needs...I figure with 3 teens and a tween, we get our money's worth from Concierge service!

When 24dd asked me what we are doing for breakfast (when we met them in WDW after the cruise) I told her that I didn't know what she was doing for breakfast but, I was eating in the concierge lounge! :rotfl2:
We do *down time* around what is available in the lounge..... early evening dh has a beer and the kids and I have a snack.....after dinner or another park dh has a Bailey's and we have a snack...... :goodvibes

Like when DD2 dropped DD13's cell phone in a bowl of ice cream and threw a strawberry across the table at me and it landed in my glass of wine. It was HORRIBLE behavior that would normally not make me laugh, but I knew she was overtired (and well, 2) and needed some food in her tummy and this was her way of punishing me. DD13, DS12, DD9 and I were laughing so hard, we were crying!

:rotfl: :rotfl: I can never understand why parents get angry at their kids @ the parks... Can you imagine being that small and going, going, going all day??? I'ld be cranky, too! LOL!

The DL calendar here

http://disneyland.disney.go.com/dis...onthly?name=CalendarMonthlyPage&date=20080818

shows DL open at 8 (and I believe it is an early morning for those with that privilege, so 7 AM if you do that) and CA open at 10.

I was looking for a picture this morning and came across these 2 along the way...made me laugh. They were from the 05 Mex. Riviera cruise. In the first one...they enjoyed it when the elevator doors opened and greeting those waiting with their weapons and a big Arrrrr!! :

Sorry ....I called Dan (Pamela's husband)....yesterday Steve. I am always in a hurry. I am also a lousy typist!! My mind (no insults Tom) goes way faster than I can type.

Here you go!!!
