It looks great!:thumbsup2

What size materials did you use for the Mickey heads?

I purchased dowels at Home Depot on Friday. They didn't have the balls to attach to the ends so I checked on line.

I found these two sites.

I'm just not sure what size I should order.

Oh, one more thing. How wide is your FE?

So...I thought parasailing was sold out on CC....however, I just looked and at least 1 spot was still open...So I booked it :cool1: ! And am hoping not to regret it because I'm afraid of heights ... ;)

I am deathly, deathly afraid of heights, but I did it. And I LOVED it. I guess knowing that if something happened, I would only fall into the water made me feel somewhat better...but once I was up there and took a few deep breaths and enjoyed the scenery, I didn't want to come back down.

Ok...I did decide I had to make my FE myself......for good or for bad....I wanted something original I could use as something special. I'm posting a couple pics here so if anyone else is interested in how to make one let me know. I would never go so far as to say it's as nice as all the others, but in the end I made it special for this TOAL and if you are feelin' that same urge it took me less than a day to sew together after having the fabric and images and spending little time designing it. The sewing was not a big deal.

Wow this is awesome .. great job....

Thanks for letting me know I wasn't being overly sensitive to what happened. Next year there are two level 1 classes for tap/ballet/jazz....Tuesday and Friday after school. I have already told the instructor that I want DD to be in the more reliable class.

The prirate FE is really good. I was going to use our same Christmas stocking that we have used for 3 cruises now but Laura surprised me with a package last week. :)

This came out really nice.. :cool1: :cool1:

I don't have kids myself, but I have been involved in the dance community for a number of years. I am always surprised at how little the young girls wear when they dance. I know they are going for a "look" and feel for each dance, but I don't think it was ever intended for young kids to look like pimps and hoes to attain that "feel."

There it is... The reason my girls did Irish Dance!

i'm not much at measuring and/or sewing; but i do it "close enough" to make it work. First here is the site I used as a STARTING POINT http://www.sewing.org/enthusiast/html/et_starslockerpocket.html

I cut it a bit bigger because Im not one for doing it precisely! In the end my dow rod is about a 1/2 inch, the "ball" is about 1 inch wide with a "hold" big enough to hold my dow. I actually had "extra" so filled it with wood glue. The disks I used for the "ears" are about 1 inch in dia. but < 1/4 in width. I used a mini craft dremel to carve a couple slots to glue in the ears.

The finished width is 8" and length about 26" which is more than the pattern, but I don't "fold over seam allowances" so mine is bigger :) each pocket ended up at 6 1/2 " in height. I did nothing but straight seams and made it as easy on myself as possible! Bought all my materials at Joanne Fabrics; except for the pirate fabric....but all the wood stuff (dow, balls, disks, coin trim) were at Joannes.

Are those Zildjian cymbols? Tell him that Mrs. Zildjian is a personal friend. A real sweetheart. Her DH passed away several years ago, he was a pretty cool guy.

Why yes they are Zildjian's...the only brand he will use! lol He would think he was meeting music royalty if he met Mrs. Zildjian....I will share that with him!

Great job on the FE.
I believe one of the gals in our group is making ours...thank goodness. If not that would mean I would have to find my sewing machine and figure out if it still works! As much as I used to love to sew many years ago....I would be banging my head against the wall trying to make one of these!!

I'm a little afraid of heights...don't care for being on top of a tall building (i.e. Empire State, Sears Tower or even the Stratosphere in Vegas), but I loved parasailing at Castaway Cay. It was actually quiet and peaceful while up in the air. Be sure to take a waterproof camera with you to get some great pictures from up in the air!

We wouldn't dare :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hope you and John are both keeping well - we would really still like to say "Hello" as you disembark on 1st of September.:thumbsup2

David

I wanted to avoid you, you posted you throw 'Bun's at anyone leaving the ship quickly on disembarkation.:rotfl2:

Me again, and totally off-topic. But....I actually cooked dinner last night....and I just want to tell you all how spoiled we are going to be.
But anyway....potatoes boiled over, and left spots on the stove.
As I was getting ready to clean it....this is what I saw....no touch-ups...no kidding:

Too freaky! What a great HM! Too bad it wasn't a Madonna -- could have sold your stovetop on ebay to cover the cost of your cruise!

Looks like yours is a classic Disney FE which could be used for everything! I think I see the castle, the princesses, and Mulan (one of my FAVORITE movies along with the Emps New Groove!) very nice :) :)

The bottom pocket is the princes that accompany the princesses in the middle pocket. :)
