How often are tips adjusted? IMO the Disney cruise staff more than deserve this 10.1% raise.

My Dad always said if he got up at night Mom would have the bed made before he came back to bed. She lives with me now and it drives me crazy when I fix a cup of tea and she takes the cup when I am getting ready to make another one. And God forbid if I don't get the paper read before I go to bed because it is gone in the morning. She has a hard time waiting that long, but I don't usually get around to reading it until after dinner. If I have a spoon sitting on the stove to stir something it is in the dishwasher when I go back to stir the pot. Got to love her. It drives her crazy that I don't put things away as soon as I am done. She told my daughter I have too much stuff sitting on my end table. And she keeps throwing away mail I haven't had a chance to go through. I can't complain though because I don't have to hire a housekeeping. She doesn't cook, but she does keep the house clean (at age 83).

My mother has made comments to my older children and to dh (she sees him more then I see her since she works for the same company) that I have too much stuff. Whenever she complains in front of dh he always says *It's a good thing we're not asking you to live with us*
My mom lives 10min away and dh will keep her in her house as long as we can -- when she was going through her cancer treatments dh made sure she had enough to pay her bills (she is hourly and she wasn't up to working a full day) and then he hired a housekeeper for her so, that I didn't feel guilty about not having the time to go clean her house.

It has been since before Xmas time that I regularly lurked / posted on the DIS. I have been keeing up by joining many of the chats.

I was sort of abstaining from DIS until I got my air to LAX settled... and will oil rising all winter... and my never pulling the trigger...it was looking like $300pp for the 4 of us.... It got to the point where my brother who works for UAL was going to try and get a friends and family thing to fly standby.

But today Virgin Atlantic had a sale $149pp. And I am all booked and ready to go!

SO I AM OFFICALLY BACK ON THE BOARDS!

You know that is one thing about this thread. At first I started posting before I realized a lot of y'all knew each other from other cruises but I still do not feel "left out". I am so glad we are going on a TOAL w/ so many fun and caring people!

Cheryl only knew David (Daipp) and I from before! She makes friends fast!

I'm back now too. Had to feed DD a late snack and put her down for a late nap. She slept from 11 till 2 this afternoon so I didn't think she'd want an afternoon nap!

Out of 7 cruises, this one last week was the first one that I've not had concierge. Once in the Walt, once in the Roy, twice in a Cat 2, and the others Cat 3's. Never have I heard from concierge before the cruise. BUT...they are now accessible to us before the cruise. We can now e-mail or fax them ahead of time. They never used to have that info available either. I'm guessing that if you contact them ahead of time with a dining request, they would call you or your TA about it. But, the dinner seating isn't done normally until the week before the cruise, so the other family really got an early call about that.

I did see in my *Mickey Mail* that there was info on contacting Conceirge. For this cruise there isn't anythng that I *need* help with so, I haven't felt a reason to contact them.
Although if I hadn't linked ressies with the Dissers I would be contacting them about getting 8:00 dining! LOL!

Hi everyone............I am totally behind - I am still on thread #9 and I officially give up on trying to catch up. Have I missed anything important???
I thought that this week I could get on here MORE since school is out but I have found myself with LESS time this week.

WHINY Alert.......Our upstairs air unit quit working on fathers day so I spent monday trying to make phone calls on that. I cleaned house ALL day long too(something that was much needed). Tuesday I spent the day at swim practice then at the dr with my dd9 who has an ear infection (doc says okay to swim so........) then it was my turn to host Bunco this month so I spent hours trying to get everything set up for that. Wednesday I spent the entire morning cleaning everything up from bunco the night before & the guy came to fix air conditioner which by the way cost $1,000 ........ then DD9 had her 2nd swim meet. Today I am trying to play catch up because DH decided we were going to hit Busch Gardens tomorrow.

Any more word on the "pirate bus"? and who to pay and how much and etc.?? I really need to kick it into gear and start planning this stuff but I am stuck in swim team stuff for the next 4 weeks. Next week is our first home meet and I do all concessions so i will be working hard next week at least until thursday (a day of rest). I need to rest, I will be 41 on Sunday the 29th

There are several people at work that dh has had to pull Internet access away from. DS (he is in the IT dept at the same company) told my mom that if she didn't let anyone else in her area know that they would let her have Internet.......a few days later my mom shows everyone in her area pics that dd had sent her.....

My favorite time was when the head of the Advertising Dept (always doing *church* stuff,etc... kind of a guy) kept going to dh's boss to complain about every little thing dh did...... Dh's boss called dh into the office one day with the Advertising guy....... DH pulls up all of Advertising guys Internet history...... Porn site after Porn site.....

It's in the company policy handbook that people are not allowed to use company computers for personal use. DH only enforces it when there is a problem.

I hope it works out.
They finally installed the new desktops and they are really tiny. Smaller than my portable dvd player. Yup I cannot access the net either and it is also in our policy not to as well. They will have to make adjustments for us tho as we need access on one we can partially bring up to help our customers. My deskmate has an iphone and she brings up her email etc.

Boring nite. I need a new chair for my computer and the fixed weld finally broke again. It's like a balancing act as the seat wiggles side to side.

Tomorrow is Hep A shot day. Then probably IKEA as I liked some of the chairs I saw last time.

DH was on the fence about the tux or a suit. I think he is going with renting the tux so I probably need to find out more from them.

Sorry K. Our department heads go on witch hunts every once in awhile where I work. Sometimes go as far as checking the phone bills for non-work personal calls. (I use a phone card!) Here where I work, they would have to fire everyone, cause everyone goes on the internet. Internet gets really slow at lunch time. Gotta love local govt, seems only the adds get promoted!

that is terrible... my place has cracked down on many websites (blocking access). and we cant get to our home emails from work.

I feel that i they expect me to work 16 hrs a day, they should let me feel like I am at home!

I had a boss they wanted to get rid of and the dummy had gone on porn sites! Didn't have much of an argument after that.

DH has checked all the stores phone records for about 20 yrs or so now.... His boss told me once that dh could scan a phone bill and immediately find the personal calls! LOL!
Dh also looks at his employees cell phone bills.... I can't remember how many employees have company phones but, one month our 28ds had the highest minutes... His dad put a stop to that! LOL!

Dh and I are always amazed the sites people gp on even though they have all been informed that the company will check up on them..... One guy was storing his personal diary on his company computer!!!!

Well, I guess I will not try that again. It was a waste of time. I realize I am too emotionally attached to their clothes. To sit there while they gave almost nothing for clothes that had basically only been worn once from Gymboree was riduclous. A $35.00 sweater that has been worn once was $1.50. No thanks!
I am going to give them to my neighbor since she has 3 girls and it would help them out.
I will just give the girls their spending money.
