Better hurry, she's getting antsy.

New Tipping Guidelines

As of July 13, the suggested gratuities are changing. Anyone adding pre-paid gratuities after this date will be charged the new amount:

3 night $36 per person
4 night $48 per person
5 night $60 per person
7 night $84 per person
15 night $180 per person

Thank you for the information - I called to add my gratuities and I was told that these new amounts are effective TODAY for any cruise sailing July 13 and later

Yep, I was typing while I was on the phone and missed a couple words. What I meant to say was "Anyone adding pre-paid gratuities for cruises after this date will be charged the new amount"

I was also not able to confirm the dining rotations, they said they are not set you. Don't know who to believe, but that's DCL for you. But I did find out that on August 25 there will be only two dinner times: 6 pm and 8:30 pm.

One of the families that we are traveling with is in a suite and they received a call from concierge today. They were asked what dining time they preferred and they chose 6pm - they were then told that the rotation would be PLAPLAPLAPLAPLA for that dining time.

The lady from concierge went on to say that the formal nights would be on night 2, and night 14 but wasn't sure what night Pirate night would be yet. I thought that information on the theme nights was already posted somewhere :confused3

It has been since before Xmas time that I regularly lurked / posted on the DIS. I have been keeing up by joining many of the chats.

I was sort of abstaining from DIS until I got my air to LAX settled... and will oil rising all winter... and my never pulling the trigger...it was looking like $300pp for the 4 of us.... It got to the point where my brother who works for UAL was going to try and get a friends and family thing to fly standby.

But today Virgin Atlantic had a sale $149pp. And I am all booked and ready to go!

SO I AM OFFICALLY BACK ON THE BOARDS!

Do you have the website for Virgin Atlantic I belive it should be the one that does U.S. Flights not the over seas flights correct? All I could find is the link to the flights going from the U.S. to Europe not the one that includes flights within the U.S.

I am looking for airfare for the fall and coming up with high rates no matter what airline I choose and it isn't like we are looking to travel over a holiday time

Thanks

The way I understand it is if you pay as soon as you get the bill you can have those points transferred immediately. I will get the card at DTD and transfer the points then and do a last minute transfer before we leave for the mucho points I will be accummulating next week at WDW.

No Coral, you get the reward Dollars onthe closing date of the new statement regardless whether you pay in full or not. Trust me on this.
I'm curious what your Grandmother did....

My Grandmother was a pack rat, several construction dumpsters to clean out stuff when she went in nursing home. My Mom was the one who is cleaning before you are done with things, if I wasn't up early enough, I had to go find the newspaper in the recycle bin....

Yup my Grandmother kept everything as well. I do and so does my DD. DS doesn't have a sentimental bone in his body yet. He will thank me when he gets older :rotfl2:
Now my DM, she has everything spotless as well.Still won't have a microwave as she hates the way it looks on the counter. When she comes to visit, she stays in a hotel. When I went to stay with her when her wrist was operated on, I had to threaten her to stop cleaning up behind me.Yes she threw out my Mickey Mouse Club books and my original Howdy Doody doll.

My mother would've done that! She threw everything I ever owned out. Her house was spotless. Not a picture of any of us anywhere to be found. Never would she hang up one of our drawings or papers from school. She was always a maniac about cleaning around the house & heaven forbid something was out of place. I have vowed to be the complete opposite of her. Papers & drawings from the kids are hung all over my kitchen. I saved some of their baby outfits, drawings, toys, etc. in a bin for each of them. I put pictures of them all around & my house is the complete opposite of spotless, but I'm hardly ever stressed either. So the coffee table is filled with magazines, toys & papers. So my laundry is all over the floor. So my kitchen table is piled with mail. It's not going anywhere! ;)

I agree! I have DD's pink cast from when she broke her wrist rollerskating a few years ago. She was about 11 when it happened so not teeny tiny, but still I couldn't throw it out.

Both DD and I are clutter rats. I have been trying to clean up but it just comes back.:rotfl2: When we used to visit DM for dinner in NY I would put our coats on the bed and she would throw them on the floor stating she didn't want them to dirty her bed  Can't change those spots, that's for sure.

K did you have your meeting yet????

It's Virgin America

Hmmm I quoted this earlier but didn't say what I wanted! We found "Celebrity Circus" last night....

:rotfl2: You win!!!!

No Coral, you get the reward Dollars onthe closing date of the new statement regardless whether you pay in full or not. Trust me on this.

I meant that as soon as it closes the month I can add the points. I want to squeeze the last little amount.
I am all for giving raises but the new tip amounts are going to mean I am going to overtip by as much as I planned.

My DD has found possibly the worst show on TV. Anyone heard of Celebrity Juror? What caught my eye was Catherine Oxenburg was one of the jury (jurist?). I loved her in Dynasty. How far she has fallen. She is still beautiful!
I did not even know the other 2 w/ her.

I usually love those guilty pleasure reality shows too, but Celebrity Juror??? :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: It sounds like they are digging...LOL

You have that right!!!!:thumbsup2 I missed half of pirate night sitting in the restaurant til 10:45 pm. I want early and beside you can actutally get a seat in the clubs with 8:00 dining.

I am glad we all agree that theme nights are secondary compared to missing half the fun at tnight!!::yes::

We could try for a 4 hour but neither of our batteries last that long!!!:rotfl:

John stuck his arms out before the entrance of the MRI and refused to go through with it. :faint: The nurse felt sorry for him and got him the open MRI.::yes::

Bless his heart (MRI)!

And I agree about the dining, it will be a blast! Perfect time too. I also had no problems getting seats at the adult cabaret either....and I even had 8:15 and it worked out fine, so this will be even better. :thumbsup2

I've been known to talk with my cell phone plugged in... :lmao: :lmao:

I did that the other day! :lmao:

When I talk to Cheryl that is what I do. ;)

Poor Cheryl, is everyone giving you a hard time? :rotfl: I am glad you take the time and chat with people, gives us the opportunity to know you better for the cruise and gives us all the down low of what's going on, when, who, where and why....very informative! Need to know anything that's going on? Ask Cheryl!

I am going to try for Blue Bayou, but I'm not sure what day yet. I'm trying to finalize dinner plans with my brother & I'm thinking of Ralph Brennans for that night. We'll wing the rest of the time too, because some of the counter service menus look really good. :thumbsup2

I know they do!!! I have a reservation for lunch at the Blue Bayou on the 16th, I figured Saturday will be a busy day, so it will be a kind of "bonus" day for us, so it won't hurt to just relax and have a nice sit down meal.

:lmao:

This board's slow today! Where is everyone?

I was busy finding out what time I'm meeting Cheryl Sunday. Three hours and two phone batteries later, I have the answer :lmao: :lmao: You know we love you Cheryl

You know Cheryl, everyone is talking to you a long time and everyone loves teasing you. I think I am really going to enjoy getting to know you on the cruise. :thumbsup2

You know that is one thing about this thread. At first I started posting before I realized a lot of y'all knew each other from other cruises but I still do not feel "left out". I am so glad we are going on a TOAL w/ so many fun and caring people!

My DMIL is the same way. I usually walk around all day with a big glass of water. When ever we visit them I have to literally hold on to my glass because if I set it down it is gone, washed and put away. Sometimes I catch here watching me to see if I will set it down. :lmao:

:rotfl: :rotfl2:

Stephanie- How are you doing? The storms on your side of Dallas looked pretty bad. We just had some nice rain but the pictures are ugly in Tarrant County.

It was TERRIBLE here this morning! UGH! Horrible winds and tons of lightening/thunder and rain. The wind makes so much noise going through our trees. And now our backyard (and gutters) are littered with pieces of *tree*.

Rain was the only thing we needed! LOL!

Woo! Hoo! Summer has finally arrived. DD is finshed with school and is now an official 5th grader! b:banana:

Now to ketchup.

I'm in a suite and we didn't receive a call.... We are only in a 3 this time but, I've traveled in a Cat 1 and have NEVER received a call from Concierge.....

I wonder who you have to know. ;)

I'm working on getting unpacked and organized. Wanted to post a picture of the ship passing the Doubletree on its way in to port on Sunday morning. I thought those of us staying there would like it. It was 5:45 a.m.

Out of 7 cruises, this one last week was the first one that I've not had concierge. Once in the Walt, once in the Roy, twice in a Cat 2, and the others Cat 3's. Never have I heard from concierge before the cruise. BUT...they are now accessible to us before the cruise. We can now e-mail or fax them ahead of time. They never used to have that info available either. I'm guessing that if you contact them ahead of time with a dining request, they would call you or your TA about it. But, the dinner seating isn't done normally until the week before the cruise, so the other family really got an early call about that.

None of the rotations on our 7 night cruise went in order, as stated above (PLAPLAPLA etc)

The 6:15 and 8:15 rotation was LAAPLAP. And the others were mixed up like that, too. With three dining times and 3 restaurants, they can't do the standard LAP/PLA/APL rotations.
