Tough choice, I will go with regular! After all, it is a TOAL, so why count calories!!!

ACTUAL PLANNING ALERT...

Now that the time has arrived to make Priority Seating at Disneyland, where and when is everybody eating?

I have the Vineyard Room on the 15th at 7:30pm and Ariels Grotto on the 15th at 1:00 pm.

I plan on booking Lilo and Stitch on the 16th as late as possible in the morning. For the last night there, I am not sure what else to book!

We are in Concierge at the DL hotel so that should lessen our food needs...I figure with 3 teens and a tween, we get our money's worth from Concierge service!

We made 2 PS's...one for Storyteller's Cafe for breakfast on the 14th and one for Goofy's Kitchen for brunch on the 16th. We figured we'd wing it the rest of the time eating either at the counter service restaurants or walking to some of the restaurants across the street from DL.

Kim

Ugghhh, mornin' everyone. We stayed up way too late last night. We went up to Myrtle Beach to play putt-putt (aka mini golf) and then went to Margaritaville for dinner.

And for those of you doing the Tequila Tasting.....here's something to keep you going for the next two months:

Andy

OMG where can I get one of those? :hyper:

Somebody that can talk as much as Cheryl?? This person I have to meet. Thank you to Kristina, Tracy, Arlene, and whoever Cheryl has been having marathon phone calling, and comcast for the unlimited long distance.:worship: :worship: :worship: I get the TV :happytv: to myself at night, it's quite, and less chance for me to get into trouble :yay:

But ya gotta love her:hug:

John

Aw! Yes you do!!! :lovestruc

When I had a heart MRI a few years ago the tech put me in the MRI and I freaked out. She had to take me out and put a mask over my eyes before she put me back in so I couldn't see how tight it was. It is amazing I didn't have a heart attack while they were doing the test.

I have no trouble with Mission Space though. When I read the warning about enclosed spaces I was nervous, but I didn't have any problems. I know I shouldn't ride this ride because of all the warnings and the number of people with the same condition as me who have died on this ride. But I am on medication and if I go that is the way I want to go. :faint: I figure it is just a CYA for Disney.

The first time I rode it, I had heart palpatations for hours afterwards. Now I just do the less-intense side & that's thrilling enough for me!

I went on Mission Space once, and once was enough for a lifetime. I generally don't do well with spinning rides, and despite their best efforts - well, I didn't get sick, but it did take some recovery time. Just had to try it though.... :cool2:

I didn't get sick from the spinning either, it was the g-force that did me in. Try the less-intense side. It is just like the more intense side, but without feeling like someone dropped a ton of bricks on my chest. :worried:

My mother has been known to say that she is the reason I save everything - she got rid of everything!! When oldest dd was born Dh's aunt hand smocked quite a few beautiful dresses for her.....
my mother says *Oh, when you were born a bunch of the old ladies in town (my mom grew up in a town of 1,100) made you hand smocked dresses.*
Me *Where are they?*
My mom *Oh, I got rid of them as soon as you outgrew them.*
:faint: Who does that????? :confused3

We moved into this house on Feb 1st...... Our other house still has a couple of rooms filled with stuff, a 2 car garage filled and 2 attics filled.......

My mother would've done that! She threw everything I ever owned out. Her house was spotless. Not a picture of any of us anywhere to be found. Never would she hang up one of our drawings or papers from school. She was always a maniac about cleaning around the house & heaven forbid something was out of place. I have vowed to be the complete opposite of her. Papers & drawings from the kids are hung all over my kitchen. I saved some of their baby outfits, drawings, toys, etc. in a bin for each of them. I put pictures of them all around & my house is the complete opposite of spotless, but I'm hardly ever stressed either. So the coffee table is filled with magazines, toys & papers. So my laundry is all over the floor. So my kitchen table is piled with mail. It's not going anywhere! ;)

:rotfl2: My mom is the same way. When I am at her house I can't even set my drink down or else it will be dumped and the glass washed before you can blink.

The only thing I have from my childhood are my yearbooks. So now, like many of you....I save too much. I wouldn't say I'm a "pack rat", but I have a tote full of "special clothes" the kids wore and I've kept drawings and school work from each year. My dh thinks I went overboard when I refused to throw away dd's little pink cast from when she broke her arm at 3 years old. How could I get rid of that??? Her arm will never be that little again!

I agree! I have DD's pink cast from when she broke her wrist rollerskating a few years ago. She was about 11 when it happened so not teeny tiny, but still I couldn't throw it out.

::yes:: LOVE 8pm! But, 8:30 is wwaaayyy too late!

Yes..........we loved the 8:00 pm.:worship: :worship: dining.Seems like a half hour is not much time difference but it is huge when waiting for the meals to be served.:headache:

DH and I were discussing this -- he is trying to convice the CEO that it is a good idea for their Factory & the Warehouse. And perhaps a few other postions. The CEO thinks it's a bad idea..... So, dh is waiting for one of the *idiot add kissers* to suggest it to the CEO and then he will think it's the best idea since sliced bread......

It is a shame no one is listenting to Jon.:listen: :( Big benefit is the money saved on gas and communte time for the employees. Another plus is the down time on the lines for maintenance of machines.:woohoo: John's depeartment was not going to do the 4 tens a week but he convinced the President it would be beneficial to the company if he did this!!:rolleyes1 I guess he might have a little lawyer in him(or just a big mouth living with me).:lmao: :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: :lmao:

DH says that is one of the worst thigs about CA...... The beach/coast is too cold even in the summer to swim!

Boy...give me the Gulf anytime!!:thumbsup2

When I talk to Cheryl that is what I do. ;)
I know you love to talk as much as I do!!;)
.

My Mom didn't save anything either. I don't have anything from my childhood.:( I am kind of in between. I will keep a lot of things and then get aggravated that I am running out of room and throw it all away...then be upset because I wish I had saved it.:)

I give my mom a hard time about Francie (Barbie's cousin and the only *Barbie* doll I ever owned). I owned 1 doll, a lot of clothes all in a shoebox. I had it since I was about 7.... (I got Francie because she had brown hair like me). When I was in 6th grade we moved from New Orleans to San Diego. I had the doll in NO....we arrive in SD and I no longer have it!!! She told me they couldn't move everything (the Navy moved us). That was the ONLY thing I owned except my clothes & my jewelry box.... Between that and getting rid of my Mary Poppins doll when I was 7 and we moved to NO (in a case with ... I think 2 outfits) she's lucky I speak to her. :lmao:

:rotfl2: My mom is the same way. When I am at her house I can't even set my drink down or else it will be dumped and the glass washed before you can blink.

We must all have the same mother! :rotfl:

Kim

I am going to try for Blue Bayou, but I'm not sure what day yet. I'm trying to finalize dinner plans with my brother & I'm thinking of Ralph Brennans for that night. We'll wing the rest of the time too, because some of the counter service menus look really good. :thumbsup2

I stand corrected!:rotfl2:
ITA! Are we definitely confirmed for the 8:00 p.m. seating? Thanks!:

Yes I think we need to be Party Hearty Animals of the Late Dining!!!:cool1: :cool1:

We did not turn it into DCL as of yet....still waiting on a little info from peeps.Should be by the tomorrow or Monday. We will have to confirm room number with them when GTY status is changed .::yes:: DCL did not seem to have a problem of us requesting times. We are helping them put people together at tables.::yes:::thumbsup2

Jon is the President so, he has to convince the CEO.......It's a shame he hadn't thought of it before the last Board meeting.........

And ...YES, I do like to talk as much as you! :lmao:

One of my brothers lived with my mom about 10yrs ago (he was going though chemo for Lymphomia) and he said the most fun he had was when she would leave a room (or go to work for the day) he would move something...... He said that when she would walk in the room she would get a look about her.... and then find the object and move it back! :rotfl2:

Dh's mother is the same way --- you would never have known there were 2 boys living in their home. Everything is *perfect*.

You are welcome in my home anytime! :goodvibes I actually let kids PLAY in my house!

The dining times..are there any rhyme or reasoning to who gets what time..or is it dart board logic?
Chrissie

There sort of is... We are going to request a certain time though since we can pretty much fill a dining room.

If you're early....why not sign up with us Chrissie...:confused3

I hate even the teacups at WDW. :( I do not like things that spin except a merry-go-round.:rolleyes1 When Mission Space came out I just had to try it!!! ::yes:: I could so I have been on every ride in the park. :woohoo: Well I did not get sick either but guess who it bothered?? :confused3 John took 3 hours to recover........that is what he got for always laughing at me.:lmao:

Not so funny MS story.... I was really afraid of getting sick too but i wanted dd to go on. We did the line thing and then i was going to use the chicken lane... At the last second i figured, hey i could do this.... i followed the directions and it was a great experience...Only did it once though...on an empty stomach..

There was an older couple (20 yrs or so my senior) ahead of us in line really excited about riding.... The wife came off the ride getting sick down the entire ramp...I felt really bad for them...

I'm curious what your Grandmother did....

My Grandmother was a pack rat, several construction dumpsters to clean out stuff when she went in nursing home. My Mom was the one who is cleaning before you are done with things, if I wasn't up early enough, I had to go find the newspaper in the recycle bin....

My DMIL is the same way. I usually walk around all day with a big glass of water. When ever we visit them I have to literally hold on to my glass because if I set it down it is gone, washed and put away. Sometimes I catch here watching me to see if I will set it down. :lmao:

I like the way you think. :thumbsup2

I have been dealing with this the past week. I have so much "stuff" in boxes that I finally decided it was time to de-clutter. DS is starting 5th grade in the fall, and I still had his school papers from Kindergarten. I've been going through his papers and DD's and saving special artwork that they did along with some of their other work (compositions, journals, etc.). I finally realized that I have 4 kids and I can't possibly save everything they do over the years! It is hard, though, putting all those papers out in the recycle bin. :worried: And, yes, I do still have the little green cast that my DS wore when he was 4 and I plan to keep that too! (Actually, I think my kids are worse than I am...they don't want to throw away anything! :scared1: )

Better hurry, she's getting antsy.

New Tipping Guidelines

As of July 13, the suggested gratuities are changing. Anyone adding pre-paid gratuities after this date will be charged the new amount:

3 night $36 per person
4 night $48 per person
5 night $60 per person
7 night $84 per person
15 night $180 per person

Stephanie- How are you doing? The storms on your side of Dallas looked pretty bad. We just had some nice rain but the pictures are ugly in Tarrant County.

We are getting there the same day! Same hotel too!

You sure do have a lot of eating packed into those 5 days!

I wasn't going to make ADR's for the first few days, I really am fine with winging it, but maybe I should put something on the schedule just in case?!?

I have the ADR's for Friday and Sat when DH and DD3 will be joining us. Then Sun. morning, I thought we would go to Early Entry at DL and do all the little kid rides for little Jessica, come back to the Concierge lounge and grab some food to tide us over and our private shuttle to the port arrives at 10:30. That should be workable, right?

I love Story Tellers Cafe as long as we don't have cell phones in bowls of ice cream and I also was thinking of adding the DTD Italian place. I am so glad that we have plenty of days to see the 2 parks, we can take our time!

I got some tuxes for the boys on ebay and I finally had a change to give them to the boys today. They were surprisingly excited and we had fun trying them on. Then I went to get DD3 from the neighbors and when I came back, they were both wearing the tuxes, had found black sunglasses and were making silly poses. It was really funny! I love my teens!!!!
They are really good sports for mom!

The deal I got on ebay was FANTASTIC, and well worth the money. I paid about $90 total for 2 tuxes, including shirt, vest, bow tie, pants and jacket. That cost included shipping too!

They are by no means high quality, but they will work for what we need them to and even if we never wear them again, they have saved me money as it was a lot less expensive than renting!

OH, another shopping update...

I finally made it to Walgreens today to try to get the Neutrogena sunscreen special...I found the sale items along with the free sunscreen stick but none were packaged with a little tube, then when I was in the cosmetic section, they had a display set up and there were only a few tubes left with the bonus package. Yippee, so I got my deal. Plus the make up I was looking for had 50% off AND the clerk came over and said that she had $1 off coupons for all the make up I was buying. So I got a GREAT deal on everything! Thanks for the tips everyone!

Yes I have added a lot of meals in, basically DL is said to fill up on ADR's fast at this time of year, and it will be difficult to wing it.

If you have ADR's you have the option to go for a burger instead, but if you havent ADR's it will be a long wait, or no option.

MK at WDW has far more options to book, I like Tonys town sq, the Plaza and Libert tree, there is also Cindys but a bit expensive, its a pity DL has only two.

good afternoon everyone! i can't wait for friday!! kids are driving me absolutely bonkers today! you can tell it's getting close to summer vacation, cuz they are all nuts!
hope everyone is having a nice day!

Cheryl has you trained well!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Does it show?

You have that right!!!!:thumbsup2 I missed half of pirate night sitting in the restaurant til 10:45 pm. I want early and beside you can actutally get a seat in the clubs with 8:00 dining.

You are a sweetie!!

I am glad we all agree that theme nights are secondary compared to missing half the fun at tnight!!::yes::

Glad you realize.:lovestruc ............Cheryl is never wrong except for typing!!!:lmao: :lmao:

I only let you think that you are never wrong.

We could try for a 4 hour but neither of our batteries last that long!!!:rotfl:

I just wonder if I can keep up the pace of cooking now.:headache: I hate to cook but I have been because he gets home late and has to exercise for his heart .::yes::

All you have done so far is warm up leftovers.::stir:

John stuck his arms out before the entrance of the MRI and refused to go through with it. :faint: The nurse felt sorry for him and got him the open MRI.::yes::

Hey Tom.....I invested 47 year(40 of those we will be married) of training!!!! You think he would get right by now.:lmao: :lmao:

Cheryl you just said you were never wrong IT'S ONLY BEEN 46 YEARS, REMEMBER 1962 AND IT IS NOW 2008 DUH:lovestruc

My Dad always said if he got up at night Mom would have the bed made before he came back to bed. She lives with me now and it drives me crazy when I fix a cup of tea and she takes the cup when I am getting ready to make another one. And God forbid if I don't get the paper read before I go to bed because it is gone in the morning. She has a hard time waiting that long, but I don't usually get around to reading it until after dinner. If I have a spoon sitting on the stove to stir something it is in the dishwasher when I go back to stir the pot. Got to love her. It drives her crazy that I don't put things away as soon as I am done. She told my daughter I have too much stuff sitting on my end table. :confused3 And she keeps throwing away mail I haven't had a chance to go through. I can't complain though because I don't have to hire a housekeeping. She doesn't cook, but she does keep the house clean (at age 83).

MS, Dinosaur and ToT are the 3 I plan to never ride. Actually I did ToT once and that was enough. The older I get the more spinning bothers me so I guess I will leave MS to the young uns.

There is a room set up with the show minus the sub ride for folks who can't go in the sub. Maybe that is an option for you.

That's interesting... Guess that's the only way to be accessible with the stairs and all.

My DD has found possibly the worst show on TV. Anyone heard of Celebrity Juror? What caught my eye was Catherine Oxenburg was one of the jury (jurist?). I loved her in Dynasty. How far she has fallen. She is still beautiful!
I did not even know the other 2 w/ her.

Hmmm I quoted this earlier but didn't say what I wanted! We found "Celebrity Circus" last night....

Ya know, since I had DD, I have a much harder time with any of those crazy rides. The first time to WDW, I went on MS and had to sit on the grass outside to recover! I refused after that till last trip when I went on the wimp side and was ok with that.

That is a great idea. I usually talk on my house phone which is cordless but does not do well on long marathon talks.:lmao: :lmao:

Do you switch to another cordless phone halfway through the conversation? I've done that before too! :rotfl2:

Maybe you keep missing my question but what time are you going to be at LAX Marriott??? I thought we might get to say hi!!! I just looked up the room rate and it is now $199 during August. The original rate was $139 a night.  I get senior (by just two weeks) at $119.

Nonono I answered the question... At least I'm pretty sure I did :) I still don't believe we're at the same hotel! I just checked and the "Los Angeles Airport Mariott" is still $99... Are you staying at a Courtyard, by chance? Hmmmm...

Anyhoo we'll be there by about 9:30am. I'm up for saying hi since we do have the whole day to waste away!
