How much extra was it to add the DT to port leg? Also, what time are they going to get you to the port?

It's a separate rezzie for 5 (dedicated van) for $80 - picking up at the DT @ 9:45am - steep price but 'hassle free' :)

The LAX to DT was $32 for a shared ride or $80 for dedicated.

Andy

Hey Andy: We have reservations from a shuttle from Lax to Doubletree.........I was told we couldn't make reservations from Doubletree to port? They have 2 shuttles running but with so many people staying there thought it might be a problem getting on a shuttle.:confused3

This is a commercial shuttle (Primtime shuttles) not the Hotel shuttle.

Andy

I've been watching the Olympic trials for swimming. My brother and I both used to swim and coach (he actually still does)....and they are doing the trials from our home town of Omaha. My brother is timing at the meet. A big thrill for former swimmers.

Andrew I watched the Murray match too!! What a nail biter.
He plays nadal in the quarter finals next.

:headache: :headache: I need a nap now. That's almost as bad as the math problems.

On the June 8th cruise we had 1.5 - 4 ft waves....the lowest category that they have on their chart things. I doubt the waves were more than 1.5. Pretty smooth sailing.

Is August typically worse?

On our Christmas Cruise 2006/2007 ..we hit a storm (not a hurricane but a really bad storm) ... 20 ft waves and wind.. lasted anout 30 hours...not so much nauseating but felt like someone picked up the ship and shook us like a snowglobe...

This is the only hurricane I wan't to hear about ! :rotfl2:
Mickeyhurricane.jpg

LOL...this is great!!

I'll have extra patches with me if she needs them. The only side affect I've ever had is extreme dry mouth -- which is why if you see me I will have a bottle of water with me at all times! ::yes::

I used the patch on our first cruise in the 80's (yikes...dating myself!) I had dry mouth the entire time, but it was not a huge problem. Never felt sick at all. I didn't use one for our 05 Mex Riviera cruise and was fine. Took bonine one night when I wasn't sure if my head was starting to feel funny or not and didn't want to chance it. I think I am going to get the patches and bring them, just in case.

"What a gorgeous ship! We should try them sometime!"

"Honey, can you beleive the Nuts that go that Cruise???:rotfl2:

I'd love to see the look on his face:rotfl2:

What a great surprise, he must be bursting to tell you, Good Luck

I actually tried the Travel Channel thing already. We sat and watched the special on DCL together and I said, "Someday, I'd really like to do that. It looks like a lot of fun!" But he played along and said it was too expensive right now, but maybe someday. He did tell me today that he's going to tell me before we leave where we're going. We'll see. I can only keep my fingers crossed that it's sooner than later. ;)

I've cruised during one hurricane and a couple of other really, really bad storms. I can take it, but I know that at least one of the other Moms gets really sea-sick. We may have to stick her in a closet with a waste basket.

I'll be there with her! I picked up Bonine, an herbal supplement, and I'm getting ginger lozenges/pills. We'll see! I REALLY don't want to get sick.

Patches? Do you have to get this from your doc?

Did everyone pick a date & time to meet yet? We will be arriving on the 16th. Probaly early evening depending on getting our "stuff" and traffic. Thanks for looking into this.:)

We are meeting for dinner on the 16th.

Helen's mother had a heart attack on Tuesday and "died" three times so Helen was quite upset and wanted to visit her mother in hospital. The upshot of this is that she can't come on holidays to the USA and the cruise now as the doctor will not allow her to fly the Atlantic until at least next year. From Wednesday to Sunday evening I drove nearly 900 miles - in Helen's car might I add; I'm not putting the miles on mine.;) :thumbsup2
David

I am sorry about your MiL. At least she came back each time. DH just died twice but I appreciate his heart starting to beat back each time. ;)

My nephew is going to college on a swimming scholarship. I had no idea how big a sport it was until he started.

I did not mark your post regarding ressies so I am using this one. We can take a head count the week before (6 weeks from now :scared1: ) and we can decide who is not pulling their hair out at that point can call. I will mark it on my calendar.

Question...since we have not actually had a successful trip to Castaway Cay...to mail postcards from there..do we use US stamps or do we have to purchase stamps there? DD wants to mail some postcards to friends back home and I want to make sure I have what we need..

Thanks!

Works for me. I will put it in my calendar and we can decide from there.

You buy Bahamanian stamps at the post office next to the dock.
They only accept cash and if I remember right the stamps were around 50 cents.
My postcard from Sept came back in about 10 days. Others have not had such good luck

Thank you..I figured it was Bahamian postage but wasn't sure...I will make sure I bring cash off with me.

No matter what..we would beat the postcards home but it will be fun to send from there.

thanks again!

Hey, Laurie -- I meant to tell you -- I took my DD13 to DC last Thursday for the day and had a great time, but I don't think there would have been any time to get together even if I had told you (we decided to go that day at the last minute). Maybe at Union Station around 7 or so for a drink, but you probably needed to be home with your crew at that point! It was an amazingly easy day trip -- we took a train out of Penn Station at 6 AM, were walking by the Capitol by 9:45, did the Air and Space museum, saw everything around the Mall, all the way up to the Lincoln monument, White house, and Vietnam memorial, and spent about 2 hours at the zoo (love the pandas!) all before making it back to have dinner at Johnny Rocket's at Union Station before catching a train back. We were home by midnight.

I am sorry that we didn't see you, but we will be seeing you in a few weeks!

Hey Crew! Spent the weekend sprucing up the house for possible sale. Still no word from the seller (bank) on if they'll take our offer. DH thinks we'll hear today since it's the last day of the quarter and there are quotas to meet. I'm thinkin' it a short week due to the holiday. So, who knows. :confused3

Are you coming up to Washington? There does happen to be shipmates of your that live up here! I'm just sayin'!

We'll be spending the bulk of our time in WA. We have family property in Cle Elum - just over the pass and through the woods from you. If you feel a sudden urge to come clear brush, cut down trees, and engage in other forestry activities, let me know. Of course, we generally knock off in the afternoons.

Heck, we could have a forest clearing, wood burning hot tub soakin', Mt Stewart gazin', BBQin' mini-meet. Loads of space to camp if that's your thing. And we've got satellite internet in case you get withdrawl. :rotfl2:

I'm beginning to wonder what the Non-DIS'ers are going to think when they see 1/3 - 1/4 of the ship's passengers dressed alike. They'll wonder if they missed some key Disney notification or such lol.

Our printer is wondering too.... :rotfl:

That's Jim now. He damaged his ear diving (although he won't ever admit to that now!!). He went to Doctor today and was told that he had severe hearing loss in the upper ranges in one ear. When we run in the mornings I have to run on his "good side ear" so he can hear me if I am talking to him. If I run next to him and he can't hear me, "he just smiles and nods".

My hearing's not what it should be either - still haven't recovered all my hearing from perforating my ear drum diving a few weeks ago. Of course, I already had loss in the middle ranges - so now it a real problem. DH is getting really tired of having to repeat everything. I feel a hearing aid coming on in my future. :sad2:

"They were on our bed when we boarded/got to room last night"

Would that ever mess with people

Oh! Oh! Can we say that? Can we? :lmao: :rotfl2:

I feel like a duck with all this rain! LOL! I see our posts are still getting scrambled. Ketchuping up will be an adventure.

Send some our way? PLEASE!!

I had no idea that someone had a service dog!

We very nearly had two. My BFF and her guide were thinking about coming. But, she's retiring her current guide, and has to be at training with her new guide during the cruise. Probably just as well, a Cat 4 with five people and a dog was going to be more than a bit crowded. :rotfl:

We're getting her retired guide temporarily when we get back! Until the permanent home can take her. She fits in nicely with our pack. And BFF trusts us not let her get away with anything.

And to think I could have relied on that dispensation instead of spending years learning the blessing that took the calories out of the desserts! :lmao:

Oh! You'll be making the rounds during dinner? We're not Catholic, but very ecumenicical - does it still work? Are you in Captains or Crews Dining? :rotfl:

Here's what i came up with when I added the rooms:

I liked that one (with the room numbers) best! Very helpful. Thanks!

I did it again! I copied my list off of Pirate Zone and forgot to make a correction there...Cat 4 is being donated by Grandma x3 ..both she and Esteri donated but we went with Chris as she already had a cabin number. Sorry!

Maybe if we sacrifice Tom31b to the waves.........we will not be in a hurricane.

Yeah. That'll do it. :rolleyes1

Hey, were you on the August 26, 2006 Western that became an Eastern?

Hey, we were on that one too! :wave2:

Silly pirate. Maraschino cherries aren't decorations. They're appetizers.
