I wouldn't chance it by taking off the patch!
I have a friend (a nurse whose DH is a Dr. ) that can't wear the patch because of blurry vision, also.
I wear glasses, not contacts --- I've never tried contacts.

If she can tolerate the patch, I would suggest she keep it on too. Linda is getting the patch to have with her, just in case. Blurry vision is better than spending the TOAL in the bathroom!

I know there is an address posted on the piratezone to ship directly to the warehouse. Then I heard that last repo some people didn't get their stuff , so I am having mine shipped to my pre cruise hotel. Then I'm going to use the empty box to ship any souvenirs and time-share supplies back home b-4 the cruise. That was my cruise to-do task I got out of the way this AM. Find the closest UPS store in Anaheim. One more thing crossed off the least.

Has anyone heard any feedback from the MR Cruisers if pkg's are making it OK to the ship OK????

My problem with seasickness/motion sickness is that I get a horrible headache that doesn't go away until a couple of days after I get off the boat!

I get an occasional bad migraine where I lose my vision, so I definitely feel for you. I would rather just get sick and have it over than suffer with a bad headache for so long.

I was pregnant the one and only time I've ever been to New Orleans, but I made up for it during Mardi Gras at the Pat O'Brien's at Universal City Walk in Orlando on my No DH, No DSs, All Girl Trip to WDW. I have a lovely photo of me doing a cartwheel on the moving sidewalk back to the parking garage.

HURRICANE DRINK

2 oz. Passion Fruit Cocktail mix
2 oz. fresh lemon juice
4 oz. Appleton Gold Rum
1 orange slice
1 maraschino cherry
Fill hurricane glass with crushed ice, add cocktail mix, lemon juice and rum. Decorate with orange slice and cherry.

Silly pirate. Maraschino cherries aren't decorations. They're appetizers.
I LOVE maraschino cherries.

Jon is coming home from England in about 3 hours!

He said Northampton was quite the place to be this past week and weekend! We are not exactly Mandela fans here but, Jon enjoyed the music anyway.....

I'm not keen on France and that is why we were only there for about six or seven hours. We went shopping in Cité d'Europe (and spent a small fortune on Australian and New Zealand red wine), then I drove down the coast to Boulogne to see the beach.

Jon will have benefited from the lovely weather we've been having lately (not as hot as Texas). I actually drove past Northampton on Wednesday evening as we went to Wales. Helen's mother had a heart attack on Tuesday and "died" three times so Helen was quite upset and wanted to visit her mother in hospital. The upshot of this is that she can't come on holidays to the USA and the cruise now as the doctor will not allow her to fly the Atlantic until at least next year. From Wednesday to Sunday evening I drove nearly 900 miles - in Helen's car might I add; I'm not putting the miles on mine.

I watched some of the Nelson Mandela Birthday Concert from the hotel and it seemed very good. A great tribute to a great man.

Still hoping to see you on ist of September.

FIRSTLY Andy Murray just won at Wimbledon at 9.31pm.

SECOND Primetime shuttle nearly killed me and my familiy last time I was in LA, Driver didnt see a RED near Universal studios and nearly drove into a car.

Who's Andy Murray? LOL

We've had some interesting rides with all the local firms. The best/worst was from SNA to DL where one cabbie tried to set a speed record taking the exit ramp out of the airport

Last year we had a speed daemon take us from DL to Hollywood with not much regard for red lights or stop signs

Hey Andy: We have reservations from a shuttle from Lax to Doubletree.........I was told we couldn't make reservations from Doubletree to port? They have 2 shuttles running but with so many people staying there thought it might be a problem getting on a shuttle.

I don't know about a Super Shuttle type rental from the DT to the port...you may not be able to do that.
But the DT has two shuttle vans that are just like the ones SS uses. They were running pretty smoothly and on time the morning we got onboard.
There were 3 ships in port that the hotel had to take people to, and even with all those people, our shuttle left a little ahead of schedule. I didn't find it to be a problem at all.

But....since we are driving in, and not getting to the hotel very early (my guess is 2 pm) we won't be anywhere near first on their sign-up sheet. So the Moms and I might call a couple of cabs to take us to port.
