8:15 at Chef Mickey and then 9:30 KTTK tour - Can I do it?

i don't think so. For me this would be way too rushed. Some would say you could, but even if you are seated ontime, you need to eat, get out of the CR, get to the MK and check in by 9:15. That's way too much IMO.

I have to agree with Nancyg56. If you're going to rush through Chef Mickey, what's the point? That's a lot of money for such a reduced experience. You might as well eat at a Qs and arrive on time for your tour.

I agree, not enough time. You definitely want to be to MK and checked in for your tour by 9:15. They (usually) start the KTTK tour on time and if you aren't there, you're out of luck. Happened to someone on our tour last year.

It is usually recommended to have 1 hour for character meals since this is usually the amount of time it takes to see all of the characters.

I don't think that is enough time. As others said, you may have a wait to be seated as everyone will be showing up for opening times, eat, see characters, wait for monorail or walk to MK, get through the early crowds waiting to get in, get through security.....

I would keep trying for an earlier time.

Good luck!

I have never, ever had a character meal take less than 60 minutes. It's usually more like 75, but I budget 90. 30 minutes is nowhere near enough time.

Chef Mickey opens at 7AM. If it works the same as in the parks you can get there early and be seated early, especially first thing in the morning.
For a 9:30 tour you have to be there 9:15? and 15 minutes to walk from Contemporary = leave Chef Mickey at 9:00. I think it's doable if you are seated early and ask for the check as soon as you sit down to avoid waiting at the end of the meal.. It's buffet so no waiting to be served. If it was me, I'd go for it.

yep another not enough time if you are in and out with in an hour that will be amazing then you have the walk to MK about 10 minutes then bag check 5 minute so...

Hell no.

You dont want to spend all that money on a character meal and be looking at ya watch every 5 minutes.

By all means do both.

Just not on the same day.

but the OP has 8:15 reservation I do not think they will take them that early so I would not do it

Don't forget about the time from check in to the table. Usually another 15 mins. To enjoy the full Character experience, you need at least 60-90 mins depending on the table rotation of the characters.

Another vote for not enough time.

Agree with below. Depending on whether OP is going at a busy time, I have seen CM cast members not allow anyone to check in until 10 minutes before reservation time, so trying to get in early might not work.

Between the cost of the breakfast and the cost of the tour, I would be nervous trying to do both.

Chef Mickey's will not take you early. They won't even let you check in until 15 minutes before your reservation. They are notorious for running behind. Best cast is you are seated at 8:30 IMO. That only would give you 30 minutes to eat and pay and see characters. Don't see how this would work well.

More like 15 minutes. They would need to leave by 8:45.

With the potential for backups at security at the gates of the MK, I just don't think there's any way to make this work.

No way. We do Chef Mickey's every trip--and even during the least busy times (like when crowds are 2s and 3s) we always have a 10-15 minute wait after checking in and getting our family picture. Depending on where we're seated, we may see all the characters very quickly or it may be a long wait (toward dessert) when they finally make their way to our section.

So I agree with the PPs who say it would be way too stressful and rushed. Not to mention super spendy for a shortened experience!

I am usually the person that thinks we can do it all in Disney and schedule things to the last minute while we are there, lol...I even think that is a bit tight...I mean even if they sit you at 8:15 lets say you dine for 1 hour which is typical I think for breakfast places, that is still putting you out of Chef Mickeys at 9:15...then you would need to take the walk from the contemporary to MK (the monorail would take way too long in this instance). The walk is about 10 minutes to Magic Kingdom, so now you are looking at 9:25, and then you have to fight the crowd and go through bag check and everything else, I will be generous and say thats another 10 minutes right there, lol...Once you are in MK though I believe KTTK is right at the town square or something like that so not too far once you get in. This is basically what an "everything went according to plan" type of thinking though. We dine at Chef Mickey's every time we are at Disney and not once did they sit us on time...we were lucky if we got seated 10 minutes after our ADR time...and like I said before even if you do get seated on time you will still have to rush through the meal. If I were you I would choose something else for that day, maybe a CS meal instead of a sit down meal, and then keep trying to get a Chef Mickey's ADR
