With an 8:15 ADR in these two parks will we get done in time for park opening?

I have never eaten at either so I'm not sure.

I plan on checking in early to both.

Thanks

I've never done Akershus, but we have had an 8:15 ADR at Donald's on a previous trip. We were not done by opening at 9:00, but we were not far off (maybe 15-20 minutes) and headed straight for the safari. I would guess if you wanted to really rush through the meal, you could be done in 45 minutes but that certainly doesn't sound like a good time to me.

You also mentioned rope drop, and I would guess that there is no way you could actually do the rope drop ceremony from either restaurant since they are inside the park. I'm pretty sure you couldn't get back outside the ropes, even if the time worked out. If you are done before opening, I think they just hold you in a certain area until "the herd" catches up!

I am guessing you probably will not make the RD, unless you are really fast eaters and all of the characters have gotten to your table. We too have a 8:15am ADR for Akershus, but we are not worrying about the RD, actually the only RD that we like is MK, other than that, we can take or leave the other park's. We would much rather spend the extra time and take pictures of the park before the crowds get in.

Thanks!

I guess I didn't really mean "rope drop" as I don't care about being there for it ...

I more meant are we going to be done by park opening (or very soon after) so we can hit the rides / get fastpasses before things get crowded.

I really want to see the princesses at the Epcot breakfast ... but if the ADR at AK is going to put us in the park late I may cancel it as we will see Donald over at cape may.

Thanks

Is the safari one of your AK priorities? I don't know how busy it will be when you go, but getting out of Donald's a few minutes after opening hasn't been a big deal for us. You're back in that section of the park anyway, so you are spared from walking in the herd to the back of the park. Plus, that breakfast is one of our absolute favorites! The characters in their safari gear are so cute, it's one of the few places you are guaranteed to see Daisy, and the food is really good. If you've never been, I'd definitely keep it. It's worth a few minutes extra, IMO! EnjoY!
