If we are at Tusker at 8:10 for breakfast and the park opens at 9, how will it play out? Will we finish before 9 and have to go back towards the gates?

My *hope* is that we would finish up right at 9 and be able to get right in line for the Safari. Is this going to happen?

You could be done by then *if* you are called right on time *and* you eat super fast and don't really care about waiting for the characters and/or participating in the fun stuff they have for the kids there...I know when we went last year we had a 8:10 ressie and didn't get out until 9:30ish. There was hardly a line for Safari and we pretty much walked right onto it. Be prepared! That is one bumpy ride, esp. after a big Tusker house breakfast :)

We have 8am ADRs for the Tusker House on our upcoming September trip. From what I have been reading, there will be a line for you to get into where there will be a person there checking their clipboard with your name and confirmation number on it (like all the other parks for pre-park opening ADRs). Let them know who you are and they will let you in. As for time, I wouldn't worry about it. The safari is right next to the Tusker House so you will be able to eat, see the characters, and do the parade and also be able to get in line for the safari with little to no wait. Have a great trip and you will love Tusker House breakfast, it is one of the best :goodvibes

If you finish before the park opens, they will have access to the park roped off. You won't have to walk all the way back to the gate. I wouldn't worry about finishing early. Take your time, digest, wait to see all the characters, enjoy the juice. If you are feeling full after your meal and you don't want to jump right onto the safari, FP it and go back after your tummies have settled.

Also, try to get there on the early side. Once they check you in at the gate it is a decent walk to the restaurant. It is also a great photo opp with the Tree without too many people in the way.

Enjoy! It is one of the better character breakfasts on site, IMO. :thumbsup2

Last time we were there, they had access outside of the restaurant roped off and they let us through just as the main crowd caught up to us. It was sorta scary to see that massive, determined group bearing down on us. :rotfl: You cannot see the pre-show opening "parade" with Mickey from that location.

I would show up at least 15 minutes early so that you can be one of the first called who has the 8:10 adr time. I think it is possible to be out by 9 a.m. if things fall your way.

If you want any chance of making it out of there before rope drop, make sure you take care of your bill early - especially if you are on the dining plan because they back and forth so many times for receipts.

We ate there for the first time last December. We had an 830am ADR but got there early and we were seated right away (after pics with Donald outside). Our server took our drink orders and told us to hit the buffet. The characters came out later (we had a decent amount of time to eat without interruption) and they seemed to come and go quickly - atleast with my girls who are relatively shy and just hug and take a picture without much conversation. If it hadn't been for my SIL taking so long to go back and get her "auto-wheelchair" thing we would have made it to the safari ride about 5 minutes after the park opened. Instead it took a good 15 minutes before we headed to the safari ride and we had maybe a 5-10 minute wait - the longest part was just the walk back to the end where you get on the trucks.

Enjoy your meal and your trip. This was our favorite character breakfast (of 6) and is a definite must do for our trip Next May!

it was scary!!! i was like let us go already! You look back and see a HUGE crowd of people storming right for you, then they drop the rope JUST as they are catching up and then everyone runs for the safari. It will get your adrenaline going.

Thanks everyone! I was more concerned about getting done TOO early and having to leave and go back to the gates and walk BACK to the safari, I don't care if we are not done right at nine to get in line for the safari--Touring Plans is predicting crowds less than a 1.0 that day so I don't anticipate too many lines for anything at all. I was just scared they'd push us out before 9 and we'd have to criss cross all over the park. I am VERY glad to hear that we likely will still be in Tusker House after nine. Thanks so much!!!

In May, we were there (party of 8 including 4 children) and we had a 8:10 ADR. We arrived early, and even though we were a larger group, we made it out just on time (9am). The safari had a 10 min. wait already though, but it really was a walk on.

You will love the breakfast. Characters were great (even Daisy is there) and the food variety and quality was fantastic. Everything was hot as well.

You'll be able to stay in the immediate area, and get to the Safari right away.

I had an 8:20am ressie a couple of years ago and got out at 10:15am. We waited about 15 minutes to get seated, then waited for all the characters to make their rounds for pictures and autographs with one child.

If you dont care about seeing all the characters and are just going to eat, you go do that at your own pace, as its a buffet.

Enjoy!

Yes, we got in line at the front of the park as well for our 8:05 a.m. breakfast. We (4 adults) were finished by 8:45 and walked outside and waited. They had the area to the safari roped off but it was very quiet and we just waited at the rope..... nonchalantly, of course. We walked on to Kilimanjaro Safari as soon as the rope dropped- truly amazing....:thumbsup2
