8/10/2008 - Mexican Party Cruise - Who's Here??

Oh and just as a follow up to this post. The same flight combination on the same airline today is priced at $591. Just shows how nutso the airline industry is and how important it is to be vigilant in checking airfares daily.

I know what you mean! We have been monitoring airfares from LGW to MCO for October (DH now wants to join us in BWV :headache: ) but they've gone off the radar! Given that this is a predominately vacation destination who the heck is going to pay these fares!!!????!! So we're going to wait... ;)

We are going to WDW in December and I booked with airtran for 5 of us the day I saw Airtrans tickets go down... I recently checked and it was $537 dollars more for the same exact flight...for the 5 of us! What I paid still wasn't terrific, this past February 3 of us flew Jetblue to MCO for under $600 with taxes!

We're getting close to the two month mark folks!!!!!!! I don't want to wish the summer away by any means...but I'm just sayin :cool1:

hey jd99, just saw your post in another thread. my daughter (age 10) too has been expecting to be in the 10 to 12 year old group and will not want to hang with 8 year olds. i have shown her past navigators so she could get excited about the cool tween activitities she could do. this is really going to affect my trip as well because now i think she will not want to go to the kids clubs. it makes me mad that disney (and my travel agent) have said nothing about this to me and i of course i heard it on the dis board first. i'm not sure what i can do about it yet, any thoughts?

on a happier note, i see that you are planning a trip to bethany beach.
my sister goes there every summer and i have had the pleasure of visiting there a few times & just love it, its kind of a secret place. absolutely no one here (the los angeles area) has ever heard of it unless they are DC area transplants, how did you find it/ enjoy your trip there!

also karen, your artwork was great, very envious of your skills!

Hi there!
First off, my DD is currently 9 - I am worried about my cruise in November when she is 10. She was still okay with the 9 year olds this summer (though she was talking about moving up to the 10-12 because she'll only be a month from her birthday). I'm also pretty ticked off that they would make a change like this and not really say anything about it. Finding out about it by accident is pretty annoying.

I think that when we cruise in November, we are just going to talk to the counselors because she is going to be with her dear friend who will be 11 and she will need to be with her. I understand that this is the kind of flexibility they have allowed in the past so they better be willing to be more flexible now after this sudden change. I'm betting you can do the same on this trip.

Re Bethany - we live in Pittsburgh and lots of folks go to the DelMarVa area for vacations. I found the place about 12 years ago and friends bought a place at Sea Colony. We head there every other year for a week or a long weekend. It is a great great family fun place.

BTW I'm Jeff and am traveling with DW, DD9 and DD4 on this cruise. We'll hit GCH for 3 nights pre-cruise and then the St. Regis in Dana Point for five afterward.

Why thank you!!!

Hey there Party Cruisers!!! We're so near that 2 month milestone now, I can almost taste the Margaritas!!! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

Hope you're all keeping healthy and happy... I'm just popping by to let you know that my Double Dip trip report is up and running - including those all-important photos of the Roy O Disney suite! ;) Clicky, clicky...

Karen - GREAT trip report. That suite looks amazing. We have sailed in a Category 3 and I guess I had the same thought you did - that the Cat 1 would be a trumped up version of that. Not so much, eh? Amazing.

Hey all... we booked our transfer today:moped: ... all three of them! LAX to DLH, DLH to port and port to Radisson @LAX. We did indeed use Luken limosine and got a great price for the three transfers... and they will supply the carseat. Jeff, Thanks for the recommendation for Luken!!!: :thumbsup2

That was me!!! That was me!!! Glad they worked out well - I need to get going and book our LAX/Queen Mary transfer... :faint:

If anyone's interested, here's a thread containing the Mexican Riviera Navigators for downloading... ;)

Sorry for the mix up!!! Thanks then to you Custard Tart!!! And be sure to go on their website and check out their web specials... you must mention the ad to get the best prices!!!! We saved $35 by using their web deals!!! :cool1: The next cheapest company I found was American Limos and only because I told them I got a better deal somewhere else! Go... call now!!!!

And one question... I didn't know what time to tell them to pick us up at the port of LAX on the 17th.... I have to call them back with a time... What time should I tell them????? :confused3

Thanks again... to you both for helping me out!!!

OK...OK... I have lots of questions... not just one like I said in my last post:rotfl2:
We are going to arrive at LAX at 2:30... I figure by 5:30 we will be settled enough and excited enough to "do something". we are staying four nights and leaving DLH at 11:30 to go to the port on the 10th... That means that we have 5 days (kinda) taht we can do character meals... Do you think that doing a character meal EVERYDAY is going WAY overboard???? We love the interaction and our daughter will be 33 months and LOVES the characters.

AND... has anyone here ever bought the meal vouchers from Getaway Today??? If so... are they easy to use and worth it???

 Ok... i have now resorted to answering my own questions! My husband and I talked out the character meal thing and we have decided that for the cost of all 5 meals we could do lots and lots of extras while we are in DL! So we have decided to just do 1 breakfast and 1 lunch/dinner. man... those meals are expensive... way more expensive than in DW! Even the GF Cinderella's Gala was only 29.99!
Still considering the Getaway today meal vouchers... anyone have any feedback?

Sorry I haven't been around. I think you are making the right decision. I think 5 character meals is way too many. And with a 33 month old, you know that she could be enamored of the characters one minute and scared to death the next. We have had that happen with both of our kids. Where we overbooked character meals because they loved the characters so much the last time and all of a sudden they are scared of everything.

Not familiar with the vouchers.

We are going to stay 3 nights at GCH before the cruise and plan to do our eating in Downtown Disney or the parks mostly. Try to take it a little easy so our tummy is ready for the cruise! :lmao:

Hi all! :wave2: Not been around too much as I've been completely distracted writing my last trip report!!! It's totally dominated last week and I've nearly done so I'll be back to chat... :goodvibes

I'm counting down the days till I can make some Disneyland restaurant ressies - I've particularly got a hankering for a romantic dinner a deux at Napa Rose...

STILL haven't booked our limo! Looks like I'm going to be making a To-Do list on Monday...

I think we are making the right decision too! We are going to book Ariel's Grotto just because it is a bit different than anything at the World... and we figured since it is not a buffet, it will be easier on our tummies! We are also going to book Minnie's breakfast with friends at the Plaza Inn because we think it will make for a great place to grab a bite with the characters on one of those EE mornings at DL! I have been checking out the food thread for DL and CA and I must say that I think we will be happy eating some Chili and Chowder bowls... and some mexican food as well! Do you all know if we can make a PS at Carnation Cafe for lunch???? I know that there are only a few park places PS's can be made.
I am getting so darn excited!!!! oooooooooo!!!!! my last day of school is Wednesday!

Karen -your report is awesome. I can't wait to meet you and join you in a glass of the Fairytale Cuvee. One of my favorite moments is my nightly visit to the Promenade Lounge late night for a glass of bubbly.
