.

Thanks for the review. We have never eaten there or even visited WL & FW area. I am going to add it to our list for next time.

Thanks for the review. We've only done Trail's End for lunch up to now and I told DH that we would definitely be going for dinner this time.

As far as Whispering Canyon is concerned, if your DH doesn't want to go up there he doesn't have to. When we were there one time, all the men had to do the little teapot dance. Well, DH doesn't do that sort of thing, so he just sat it out. Actually, if you let the hostess know you're not into the fun stuff, they'll work with you.

Thanks for sharing your review. I think it would depend on my husband's mood as to whether he would want to play. We were at 50's Prime Time and he got in trouble on purpose to entertain the kids. He had to sing "I'm a little tea pot."

On a side note, we observed a large family of 10 enjoying dinner and there were two small toddlers in highchairs watching some dvd on a portable 7" dvd player on the table. Probably one of the few tables where there was no crying and adults eating what seemed peacefully. I had never seen anyone bring a portable dvd player to the table, but those toddlers were mezmorized and well behaved maybe as a result of their distraction. It was sheer genius!
Just curious if you could hear the dvd player or were they using headphones? I really could use that idea to buy some extra time at the end of a meal but I have 3 kids under 5 so head phones would not be an option and I would not want to disturb anyone else. thanks :flower:

We saw a family do this for their young son (6-7ish), while dining at Fulton's. I think the boy had headphones on. The parents and grandparents seem to enjoy the nice atmosphere and were able to take their time without having to entertain the child. I'm considering bringing a DVD player with us next time too, since we want to go back to Fulton's and two under 5 kids would make that meal almost impossible,

Thanks for the great review on Trails End. We love the restaurant too. My favorite dessert was the cinnamon triangles too :)

Thanks for the review. We wanted to go to Trails End during our last trip but it just didn't happen. Will definitely have it on the list for our next trip.

Our trip is planned for Sept with my DM, DD, DH and DSs.....I thought my DD would enjoy this restaraunt....do you know if the menus change each day? Do they offer different meats or desserts on certain days?

Don't get me wrong - the menu you listed was excellent and the price was reasonable in WDW standards especially since it's a buffet.

TIA

DH had to sing "I'm a little tea pot" @ 50's as well. He didn't mean to though, he just couldn't keep his elbows off the table. He didn't mind, I think the Bloody Mary's gave him the liquid courage he needed to get up & do it. I swear, I would have slid under the table.

I think that there could be a bit of reverse psychology here, Disney-style. For instance, *before* Disney installed FastPass at Living with the Land, I hardly ever saw a line. After FastPass? Every time I was in The Land pavillion, there was always a line for that attraction...
Now, here's Disney, thinking that they'd like to boost Trails End's business. (I don't remember any Trip Reports or restaurant reviews mentioning long waits at TE...in fact, in the past hasn't it been a place where you could get a fairly quiet meal with no huge crowds?) *So* they add Trails End to the list of restaurants offering PSs, indicating that there is a demand for Priority Seatings at that restaurant... and voila!, a self-fulfilling prophecy.

agnes!

Excellent review - thanks for taking the time to write it! PS's are a relatively new thing at Trail's End, they just started taking them a few months back, so you were right when you thought they didn't take PS's before. :)

We purchased a portable DVD player after last summer when my sister's family had one - it made a plane trip and long rides up the Maine coast go smoothly for my then 3 year old and her 4 year old.

Thanks Madison!

My family did lunch at the WL and I informed the waiter that we just kind of wanted to watch and not participate in the hijinks. It was fun without the embarassment! :goodvibes

Trails End Buffet use to be a well kept secret, but now the cat is out of the bag. We always visit during the summer and never waited more then 15 minutes. Heard a few month ago that they started taking PS. Next thing you'll know they will add characters, up the price, and enlarge the place.

It sounds wonderful! Did you have the option of driving right to Fort Wilderness or are they requiring you park at WL and take the bus? How long is the bus ride over to the restaurant? Sorry for my ignorance, but is this a place where you eat outside or inside? Thanks!
