'70's and '80's? What did you watch on TV after school?

I LOVED the After School Specials--remember racing home for them, looking forward to the next.
And I also enjoyed "Degrassi Junior High"--but that was watching as a teacher in the '90's.
I'm sure my DD11 would love shows like that--is there anything comparable nowadays?

My kids watch Degrassi now but I'm sure from the subject material it is high school level. I think they watch it on Noggin. (and my girls are teens: 13, 16 and almost 18)

I loved the "After School Movies" that were on ABC. They always had a teen in trouble and got out of it by the end......

I think the best one was "The boy who drank too much", starring Scott Baio.

70's kid....I used to watch Nanny and the Professor, Please don't eat the Daisies, Mickey Mouse club-reruns from the Annette Funicello days, Gidget week on the 4:30 movie of the week, Ghost and Mrs Muir

Some after-school specials are on dvd, my dd has one.

Lost in Space
Gilligan's Island
Partridge Family
Brady Bunch
Beverly Hillbilies
Dark Shadows
Bonanza
Star Trek
Three's Company
Petticoat Junction

I could go on and on...

I watched way too much TV. It's funny, because I pretty much lived in front of the TV growing up. Now, I hardly ever watch it. And my kids rarely watch TV. Just don't ask about how much time we spend on the computer. ;)

General Hospital
Dark Shadows
Medical Center
varous game shows & cartoons
Mike Douglas show

I watched Wee Willie Webber too! I actually worked for him when I finally grew up and stopped watching his cartoons. He was a really nice guy...even came to my wedding.

My dad & I would fight over the lone TV in the house every afternoon at 4. Would I win and watch Dark Shadows....or would he win and watch Gomer Pyle??? :teeth:

Seems like I remember going thru phases of The Brady Bunch, Scooby Doo, Three's Company, The Flintstones. But from junior high thru high school, I'd come home and watch All My Children (which my mom would have taped for us earlier in the day :).) We'd also watch Jeopardy in the afternoons.

Back in grammer school I use to race home from school just to watch G-Force, I loved that cartoon.

Ding, Ding, Ding! WE HAVE A WINNER!

"Niether a borrower nor a lender be, do not forget stay out of debt. Think twice and take this good advice from me. Guard that old solvency!"

That was from when the islanders made a musical Hamlet! LOL!

Wow, lots of memories here. I watched most of the stuff the rest of you posted about. One of my favorites, which I haven't seen posted yet, was Superfriends. I think that was the name at least. It's been a really long time. All the good guys (Aquaman, Wonderwoman, etc.) got together and fought against the bad ones in the Legion of Doom. I'd ride my bike home from school as fast as I could to catch it... "Wonder Twin power activate! Shape of a water bucket!"

Brady Bunch, Gilligan's Island, Superfriends, after school specials. At night I loved Duke's of Hazzard. Had a big crush on John Schneider.

Ducktails
Darkwing Duck
Sesame Street
Power Rangers
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Gargoyles/ The Goliath Chronicles
Mr. Rogers
Where in the World is Carmen SanDiego?

We also had a local show called "BJ and the SUPER ONES" on Channel 11. I had drama classes in community college with BJ's extremely funny, sensitive and wonderful kid brother Ky. :teeth:

There were lots of shows I would watch after school. Most have been already been mentioned here. But the one that I would rush home and not miss were the "Afterschool Specials".
