Which do you think would offer more space? We are talking a long weekend here, so not much baggage, so I'm not too worried about cargo space. There will be 4 adults and 3 children. I've never been inside a Tahoe, I'm assuming there is 3 rows of seating. :confused3 Price for both is comparible (about $20 difference, so that isn't an issue).

Any help would be great... thanks!

Will you be using car seats or boosters? I have a minivan, I love it! It's sooo roomy. Not sure about the tahoe. Probably get better mileage with the van too.

Our family of 5 is taking a 10-day vacation (7-day cruise plus extra days) and we have booked a rental minivan. We're not too worried about fitting all of us plus our stuff in it.

But now my Mom has decided to join us on our vacation and we are wondering if we need a second vehicle, or if upgrading to a Tahoe will give us enough extra space. We have friends with a Tahoe and when they opened up their tailgate and I saw the back, it looked to be a bit bigger than the back of a minivan -- no deep "well", but certainly the whole vehicle is wider...

Anyone have experience with both of these vehicles? Either as renting or even as owners? We have owned minivans in the past and now own mid-size suv's which hold slightly less storage-wise, but I have no experience with the large suv's.

TIA!

You can comfortably fit 6 people in a minivan no problem. My Dodge Caravan has the 2 bucket seats in the 2nd row and then a bench in the back. I always stick the adults in the 2nd row for comfort and the kids on the bench in the back :) As far as luggage, there's still quite a bit of room but you could always strap it to the roof too! We went out west with ours and 3 kids. No problem with all our luggage. Granted, some ended up in the back seat area on our way home cus you accumulate stuff along the way but it wasn't bad at all...

I've never sat in a Tahoe but it seems like every bigger SUV I've ridden in, they still don't seem as room as my van unless you jump up to Suburbans and Escalade type vehicles...the others seemed to lack comfort and storage in the rear...

Thanks everyone for replies. Also we will not have any type of booster or car seat. I'm still unsure what I'm going to do. I currenly have both reserved and need to decide and cancel one of the reservations. Keep all opinions coming though. Thanks! :thumbsup2
