Can anyone tell me their experiences of trying to book AKL Kidani Village at the 7 month booking window?
We would love to stay their but were told it was fully booked for this year's trip but would love to try again for next year.
Many thanks for your comments:cheer2:

When are you going? I only ask because I cancelled seven nights in a studio last week so that we could move to WLV for part of our October trip.

It might be worth waitlisting as others may also change at their 7 month windows.

It will probably be Mid Sept 2010. We are taking our friends over for the first time and we really would like to stay at Kidani Village.
I'm not really too sure how the Waitlist procedure works?

Hi again,

If it is mid-September, I gather you might be okay as it is not one of the busiest times at WDW although I am not an expert. This year might be a bit busier at AKV as Kidani is new.

I would book your home resort at 11 months then try to swap at 7 months to the resort you want. If it is not available, you can ask to be waitlisted for your stay - they will keep your dates on file and if something opens up you will be allocated it.

Hope that helps.

John

Not Kidani but unbelievably ive just managed to get AKV studio convierge level at 7 month window for October trip. woo hoo:banana:

At our 7 month window last week I phoned to see what was availible in 2 bedroom villas as we had Saratoga booked but wanted somewhere closer to epcot. This time last year there was only Old Key West, but last week I got a choice of Bay Lake Villas, Beach Club, Jambo House or Wilderness Lodge all available. I grabbed a 2 bed at Beach Club and cant believe my luck.

Glad about that - well done for getting BCV. Our 7-month window opens tomorrow and I am really hoping we will get what we want - I wonder if the credit crunch is preventing some DVC members from travelling at the moment :confused3

My experience Its is quite hard to get a savannah view studio at Kidani at the moment however its easier to get standard view. I just changed my booking last week before the 7 month window and had to book Jambo to get a savannah view studio.

Good luck, I really hope you get what you want.I've just been on the phone with them to book our last few days at Vero Beach. Let me know how you get on.

We don't have enough points for savannah view so were going to book standard anyway - and, to be honest, we were even going to try for Value at Jambo first so will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow.

Good luck, I think you should be okay in getting something at AKV if you don't mind being at Kidani or Jambo. apparently if you are staying DVC you can use both pools so I don't mind being at Jambo.

Well, the Gods must have been with us today - we managed to get a 2-bed and studio standard view at Kidani village - I am well chuffed :)

I am glad you got what you wanted and in the same building as each other too:thumbsup2

I still got my last 3 nights to book next week, DD wants to stay at SSR as she wants to be near to DTD to spend the last of the money before we go home, shes only 7 and she came up with that reason! I would love to try for a nice view at BWV however I doubt we would have any luck with that, I may try though as I have booked everything else with DD in mind.

In March I was able to book a one bedroom at BCV for this April. It was less than a month. My daughter's family will be at The Boardwalk so we can have the best of both. I really wanted a studio but it was not available. Yesterday I booked BLT (Bay Lake view) and Boardwalk for mid Sept. All were done under the 7 month window. Sept 2010 I also want to stay at AK in a 2 bedroom and a studio. My home is Boardwalk. I hope my luck holds up.
