7 month availability question

What are the chance of getting a one night reservation for Friday, December 19 at any of the WDW DVC resorts? We have an exisiting reservation for 12-20 to 12-26 at AKV, however, we think we will just go ahead and drive down on Friday the whole way. I have a mix of developers points and regular points and can't book until 7 months out (I also do not think you can waitlist with developer's points). We need either a studio or 1 BR. Do you think there will be any availability at all?

I sure hope you can get your Friday night at 7 months out! Here's some PD for you!

In late September '03, we bought into DVC and added on 50 VWL points immediately. We realized that in December we were taking a cruise out of Miami, and since we would be in Florida, we figured the 46 points for a weekend stay at VWL would be a perfect way to end the cruise. The weekend at VWL WAS available. Not only that, it was for Friday December 19th....I remember it well, because when we were at the MVMCP that night our DGS was born!!! We were dancing with the characters at Toon Town when DDiL was going through labor.

I really don't think you will have a problem getting a reservation as long as you do not care which at DVC you want to stay at. In Dec of 06 my DW and myself were able to get a weekend in DEC at SSR three weeks out. However that was in a 1br but I don't see a studio being a problem 7 months out.

Just wanted to tell you that we just stayed at AKV for the same dates that you'll be...Dec. 20-26. We loved it & I'm sure you will too. The lobby is beautiful at Christmas. Mickey, Minnie, & Santa were there on Christmas Eve for pictures.
