Lunch at Pecos Bills
We seemed to find ourselves here again at lunchtime without even trying. We don't plan too much of our days. We just pick which days we go to which park and then pick a restaurant for our Table service meal in that park or in a nearby resort.
So we found ourselves at Pecos Bills again and were able to order at a computer kiosk quickly and easily. I decided to order a taco salad, DH ordered a cheeseburger. Abby claimed she wasn't hungry and Ethan also ordered a cheeseburger.
When you order a taco salad you only get the meat in the big shell. Then you must fight your way to the toppings bar and create your salad. I added lettuce, salsa, cheese and I grabbed a packet of ranch dressing. I also got some hot cheese for the french fries and some ketchup for Ethan's burger.
We grabbed a seat and it was relatively good for Counter Service. We would probably eat there again on our next trip, but I think I would stick with the barbecue pork sandwich that I had. By the time I had fixed up my salad the meat was pretty cold and I really prefer chicken in my taco salads.
After a lovely afternoon exploring Tom Sawyer Island and riding Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. We headed over to dinner at 1900 Park Fare.
It is a quick ride on the monorail over the the Grand Floridian Hotel. Then down the elevator to the main floor. We checked in and waited for a little bit. Some minor details take away from this restaurant in my opinion. There is no seating near the hostess desk to wait and it gets crowded. I prefer to have either DH or I sit to the side with the kids while the other one of us checks in at the Podium. There isn't a good place for one to stand out of the way here. Also, the restroom is too small for the restaurant there is always a line in there.
We were seated near the buffet and we were excited to hear that the meal was an Anniversary celebration for Cinderella and Prince Charming! How lovely! We were also there celebrating our 10th wedding Anniversary. Our waiter came and took our drink order. I ordered iced tea, DH ordered a beer. *an italian beer I believe it is called Stella* the kids ordered sprite and water.
The waiter didn't notice our anniversary buttons.
We headed up to the buffet and I helped Ethan pick out some things he liked. Then went back to find something for myself.
I missed the cards over the food items at first and I didn't know what I was taking. I took small portions of some salads and some chicken marsala, and a bowl of cream of asparagus soup.
On my second trip to the buffet I notice the little cards naming the items. I had some more Chicken Marsala and a tomato and mozzerella salad I had missed before. I also enjoyed some more of the soup. I found it yummy.
The characters came around and we took some pictures.
I didn't take any pictures of the food but I have this one of Ethan enjoying some broccoli
We enjoyed the desserts. The kids wanted to know if they could take home the little glass cups they served the desserts in. No I don't think so.
DH had another beer which the waiter dropped off at the table and quickly walked away. So I couldn't ask for a refill of my iced tea. We used the dining plan for the meal and only had to pay for the tip and DH's beer. We left the waiter $40.00 cash.
The next morning, when we received our bill for the trip we were surprised to see a charge of $14.00 for the beer at the restaurant on our room.
Be careful when you fill out the papers that you make sure to sign were needed and don't leave any blank spaces for waiters to modify things after you leave. We left him a 20 % tip despite his poor service and he was dishonest.
