7 Days of Dining with our Family.

Thanks, I'm hoping for snow white too, but it sounds like most dinners lately are seeing Cinderella. (at least the ones I'm reading here. LOL) If Cinderella's there, we will have seen her 3 times that week at meals. LOL!

Great reviews - thanks! The Minnie shirt (or sundress, can't tell) that your daughter is wearing in the pics is adorable - and looks so comfy!! Did you make it or buy it? DGrD has outgrown her Minnie dress stage, but she would love that!

Thank you for reading! I made the shirt. She had to wear a black t-shirt under it because it was so chilly.

Here is a better picture of it.

Thanks for the bigger picture - it looks even cuter!! Did you use a certain pattern? I haven't sewn in a few years, but I used to make many of my DDs clothes back in the day - I'm sure I could pull it off with a pattern!

I used McCall's 5616 it is pretty quick but it has a zipper in the back which I didn't realize until I had it all cut out.

There is a website called youcanmakethis.com with a circle neck top that buttons. It is really cute too. Their patterns are downloaded from their website. Very easy. Have you visited the disboutiquers thread?

It is a thread on the Family board, we all sew and post photos to share our latest creations and give each hints and tips and a little inspiration.

The shorts are really easy. I just used a little fraycheck on the edges of the ribbons and sewed them on a pair of shorts. The shorts are just a pair of jeans that DD ripped holes in the knees so I cut them off and embellished them.

Officially signing on here!
I have been a lurker on your thread from the start :goodvibes!
Loved your Main Street Bakery Breakfast! Looked a lot like the one we had a few days ago!

Lunch at Pecos Bills
We seemed to find ourselves here again at lunchtime without even trying. We don't plan too much of our days. We just pick which days we go to which park and then pick a restaurant for our Table service meal in that park or in a nearby resort.

So we found ourselves at Pecos Bills again and were able to order at a computer kiosk quickly and easily. I decided to order a taco salad, DH ordered a cheeseburger. Abby claimed she wasn't hungry and Ethan also ordered a cheeseburger.

When you order a taco salad you only get the meat in the big shell. Then you must fight your way to the toppings bar and create your salad. I added lettuce, salsa, cheese and I grabbed a packet of ranch dressing. I also got some hot cheese for the french fries and some ketchup for Ethan's burger.

We grabbed a seat and it was relatively good for Counter Service. We would probably eat there again on our next trip, but I think I would stick with the barbecue pork sandwich that I had. By the time I had fixed up my salad the meat was pretty cold and I really prefer chicken in my taco salads.

After a lovely afternoon exploring Tom Sawyer Island and riding Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. We headed over to dinner at 1900 Park Fare.

It is a quick ride on the monorail over the the Grand Floridian Hotel. Then down the elevator to the main floor. We checked in and waited for a little bit. Some minor details take away from this restaurant in my opinion. There is no seating near the hostess desk to wait and it gets crowded. I prefer to have either DH or I sit to the side with the kids while the other one of us checks in at the Podium. There isn't a good place for one to stand out of the way here. Also, the restroom is too small for the restaurant there is always a line in there.

We were seated near the buffet and we were excited to hear that the meal was an Anniversary celebration for Cinderella and Prince Charming! How lovely! We were also there celebrating our 10th wedding Anniversary. Our waiter came and took our drink order. I ordered iced tea, DH ordered a beer. *an italian beer I believe it is called Stella* the kids ordered sprite and water.

The waiter didn't notice our anniversary buttons.

We headed up to the buffet and I helped Ethan pick out some things he liked. Then went back to find something for myself.

I missed the cards over the food items at first and I didn't know what I was taking. I took small portions of some salads and some chicken marsala, and a bowl of cream of asparagus soup.

On my second trip to the buffet I notice the little cards naming the items. I had some more Chicken Marsala and a tomato and mozzerella salad I had missed before. I also enjoyed some more of the soup. I found it yummy.

The characters came around and we took some pictures.

I didn't take any pictures of the food but I have this one of Ethan enjoying some broccoli

We enjoyed the desserts. The kids wanted to know if they could take home the little glass cups they served the desserts in. No I don't think so.

DH had another beer which the waiter dropped off at the table and quickly walked away. So I couldn't ask for a refill of my iced tea. We used the dining plan for the meal and only had to pay for the tip and DH's beer. We left the waiter $40.00 cash.

The next morning, when we received our bill for the trip we were surprised to see a charge of $14.00 for the beer at the restaurant on our room.:headache:

Be careful when you fill out the papers that you make sure to sign were needed and don't leave any blank spaces for waiters to modify things after you leave. We left him a 20 % tip despite his poor service and he was dishonest.

We started out our last day at the Port Orleans French Quarter Food Court.

Abby and I enjoyed some beignets.

Ron ordered the King Creole Platter and we had plenty to share with Ethan who also had his favorite bowl of fruit loops with milk. We sat outside at a nice table and watched the 1/2 marathon runners wander by with their shiny wraps (or are they "blankets") and their new medals!

We then headed over to the Magic Kingdom which was quite crowded. It took forever to get there and we weren't able to do much. We enjoyed a ride on the Astro Orbitor, then we drove the cars at the speedway. By that time we needed to finish things up so we headed to Cosmic Rays for lunch. :scared1:It was crowded! DH and the kids got in one line for Chicken tenders and I went to the line for a turkey wrap. It took forever, by the time I got my sandwich they were finished eating. We ended the trip with Stitch's Great Escape! Which Ethan and I had never tried. So we headed towards Main Street and the confectionery. We bought some Mickey Head Rice Krispy treats and were ready to head out.

Abby picked out a big lollipop to eat on the road trip.

That about wraps it up!

I must say that Disney Dining can be a mixed bag. Some places can me hit or miss. We had an awful evening at Akershus, bad service and dreadful food.

Kona Cafe was a delicious breakfast and Boma was wonderful for dinner. We also enjoyed our breakfast at Tusker House in the Animal Kingdom.

Our next trip is coming up in October we can't wait to go back and try some new places and visit some favorites.

Thanks for all of the great reviews! Your kids are adorable! Hope you had an awesome vacation! (We will be going to our first MNSSHP this year too!!)

I hope you argued those charges. Technically you don't have to leave them a tip at all. But it sounds like he pockets the 40 and pretended like you never paid for hte beer. Exspensive beer too. LOL!

I think he pocketed the cash too. I should have added that DH called immediately and got the charge removed. I was really angry that he did that considering we tipped him well despite his poor service.

I am usually willing to give waiters\waitresses a little understanding because my mother is a waitress and DH is a valet and I know families depend on tips. Sometimes they are short staffed, sometimes the bar is slow with drinks etc. But dishonesty is inexcusable. Next time we will really watch our statements.

Thanks for reading along!!
