I think my husband and I sat in the back of your car in ScFi last fall. Did you make a trip out there last sept.?

Actually, no, we went to Sci-Fi in december last year, the trip before that was october, and then before that was june. But, I have gotten many people who have said "you look familiar" in some of the disney restaurants.

Who knows... maybe I have a double... or twin!!

Wow these reviews are great and I love how quickly you've gotten them out usually I'm not good at waiting for things thanks!!!! You've reaffirmed that some of my choices are excellent. And for the record your kids are complete dolls absolutely adorable!

Thanks!!! I only wish they always acted as cute as they look! :rotfl:

You are so quick about updating! I keep seeing Tonga Toast and it is killing me. I can't wait to be able to have bread again. Yum. That was very sweet of the server and chef to help your family at the Brown Derby. Dining with an unhappy camper is not fun. Been there, done that. Keep it up.

I just finished reading all these pages... great job at your reviews!!!!!!:goodvibes

Chef Mickey's is a tradition of ours, and I'm the one that ALWAYS buys the pictures! I wish they were cheaper!

We also love Akershus and 'Ohana. We always do 'Ohana on the night we arrive.

We're going in a month on the Deluxe plan and will be trying Brown Derby for the first time. Your review has made me even more excited!

Thanks for taking the time to do this. Love it!:lovestruc

Phew! I just read all your reviews and now I'm starving. You've covered several of the places we are trying next month. I was espcecially glad to see the tips about Tusker House. We have an 8:00am ADR too.:goodvibes

Thanks for the Brown Derby review. I wasn't particularly looking forward to our meal there, but now I can't wait to try that tuna.

great pics and reviews! thanks for the detailed info!!! and double thanks for the warning about the eggs. nothing worse than undercooked eggs!

Great pictures and reviews. I just finished going through the thread and am now dying to try some of your choices. Tusker house food looks really good and fresh. Thanks again for the pictures and can't wait for more:)

Friday, July 25th ~ Ohana breakfast

Today was our last full day at Disney, and we were going to be touring MK again. So we decided to have breakfast with Lilo and Stitch at Ohana! Our ADRs were for 7:30 and we checked in about 7:25.

Unlike dinner the other night, at breakfast they give you leis when you check in. They then lead you to a photo-op area...which we decided to pass on entirely this time since Grumpy was in a particulary foul mood and wouldn't even go near the camera.

We were seated in short order...a little closer to the main area, but not much. We were parallel to the woodfire grill, along the windows. Our server immediately brought out some amazingly good juice, and DELICIOUS bread...a big sweet roll with raisins and, my personal favorite, PINEAPPLE BREAD!

Shortly thereafter a plate of fruit was brought to the table.
100_3108.jpg

I quickly snarfed the pineapple and Superstar made quick work of the watermelon. The twins shared the grapes, and Mr. Picky picked at whatever was left.

Next came the big hot plate!
100_3111.jpg

Mmmm...we had scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes and biscuits. Our server also brought around Mickey waffles. All of the food was delicious! We really gorged ourselves today. Superstar also had fun with our leis...

Characters were Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and Pluto. They also had a hula parade and Bashful went up there by herself and participated!!!!

This was definitely my favorite breakfast of the trip. I just LOVE the atmosphere at Ohana...in fact, I may even go out on a limb and say it's my favorite restaurant in Disney (well, of the ones we have tried). Although the meal at Brown Derby was superb and definitely the best FOOD of the trip, Ohana has the complete package...yummy food, festive atmosphere and great service. You really and truly feel like you are on vacation. Dinner and breakfast were equally good, and I would urge anyone to try both. The food and activities are totally different so you really are getting 2 completely different restaurant experiences.

Up next....Liberty Tree Tavern lunch

'Ohana, Boma and the Brown Derby are my three favorite restaurants at WDW, so this report is right up my alley! The lack of filet at the Derby is making me anxious, though. I'm going in October and I'm in a bit of a tizzy. I've never ordered a different entree than the filet! (It's my favorite steak of any place and any time.)

Friday, July 25th ~ Liberty Tree Tavern lunch

Our ADRs for lunch were at 12:15, and we were a few minutes late checking in...about 12:25. We got a beeper and were seated within 10 minutes. BTW...they were taking walkups with a 10-15 minute wait.

My kids wanted to know where the characters were, and we had to explain to them that lunch was a little different, and we got to pick off the menu. First was appetizers...

Grumpy opted for the Chicken Noodle Soup...
100_3146.jpg

This looked much heartier than the soup at Brown Derby. I tasted it, though, and it was your standard canned Campbell's. I could tell because the litle cubes of chicken were like dry sawdust...typical of Campbells. But Grumpy liked it and that's what counts!

Once again Superstar chose the carrots and celery with dip...
100_3150.jpg

This time the dip was fine, but she said the celery wasn't ripe. :confused3 So she wouldn't eat any of it.

Bashful chose the brown sugar apples...
100_3148.jpg

Now I personally think sugar only adds to the deliciousness of any food, but Bashful had other ideas. She didn't like the idea of brown stuff being on her apples. So we had to replace with a bowl of plain apples...which they happily did. Already we are becoming the problem table. :rolleyes1

Now Mr. Picky's favorite food is cheese. Even better if it's breaded and deep fried! So the Tavern Fried Cheese was a natural choice for him.
100_3149.jpg

I tasted this, and it was DELISH! At least, the long pieces were. The little nuggets really had no taste, they were almost like little fried nuggets of tofu. But I know they were a cheese...just really bland. Mr. Picky polished off the ENTIRE plate and gave it 2 enthusiastic thumbs up! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I chose the Soup Kettle of the day, which was basically French Onion...
100_3147.jpg

This was delicious! Again, it was really too hot for soup, but it was the only thing that appealed to me. It was slightly too salty, but otherwise had a great flavor. Loved the gooey cheesy bread on top!

Next came entrees. Bashful and Grumpy both chose the mac and cheese.
100_3152.jpg

Superstar decided she was in the mood for pizza.
100_3154.jpg

One bite and she made a terrible face, spouting out her new favorite word, "Nasty!" She really disliked it for whatever reason. The server happened to witness her little episode and immediately whisked it away and offered her whatever she wanted...which was mac and cheese. It arrived very quickly and everyone was happy. Gotta love that amazing Disney service! :worship:

Mr. Picky chose Pilgrims' Feast - traditional roast turkey with herb bread dressing, mashed potatoes and a garden vegetable..
100_3153.jpg

This was an exact repeat of dinner the other night, which Mr. Picky loved so he was quite happy with his choice. This is a good way to taste what dinner at LTT is like, without actually going to dinner.

I chose the Colony Salad - Washington apples, sweet pecans and applewood smoked cheddar and grilled chicken tossed with field greens in honey shallot vinaigrette
100_3151.jpg

This was good. Again, they did a great job of coating the salad with just enough dressing, and not drowning it. It was basically a grilled chicken salad...tasty, but nothing special.

Dessert was last. All 3 girls chose the kids' sundae, which was decorated with red, white and blue sprinkles.
100_3158.jpg

Mr. Picky chose the Three Chocolate Brownie, which was topped with a cherry chambord ice cream.
100_3160.jpg

He said it was good, but not spectacular.

I went for the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake...I mean, anything that says "Ooey Gooey" has to be good, right?
100_3157.jpg

Wow, this did not disappoint!!! It was amazing! If you are at LTT at lunch, you HAVE GOT to try this! It's fantastic!

This was a nice relaxing lunch in the middle of a hot, crowded day at MK. If you are wanting something sit-down, then we would definitely recommend this. You'll get a good meal with a heaping side of air conditioning!

Up next...Crystal Palace dinner

Lunch at LTT was the ADR that I was least looking forward to on our upcoming trip, but now that I've seen that ooey gooey toffee cake, I can't wait!!!! :thumbsup2

Oh, and since you're almost done with your dining reviews, will you post a link to your TR on this thread when you start it? I'd love to follow along. :goodvibes

Dessert was last...the famous Bread Pudding A La Mode With Bananas Foster Sauce.

Bread pudding....

Extra ice cream and Bananas Foster Sauce...
100_3018.jpg

Heaven in a bowl is my description! This was FABULOUS! I just wish the sauce had more banana slices in it.

Heaven in a bowl would be my description as well! LOVE IT!!! Lovin' your report, too!

Ok, I'm definitely getting that toffee cake when we go to LTT. Great updates, I'm in awe at how quickly you are able to update this report!
