Do you think I can do this or am I missing something?

It will just be me and DS15. We are not planning to eat at sit down restaurants more than twice ( Bubba Gumps and maybe Crystal Palace breakfast) Traveling sometime in July or early August, driving from NC. We plan to spend 4 days at Disney and 3 days at Universal. DS will have his own souvenir money, so that is not included in the food/souvenir amount.

2 Universal 7 day tickets(already bought) --- $0

2 8 day Disney MYW Non expire tickets(4 days left for next year)-$670
($828 w/tax- $158 value from GAD tickets)

Encantada townhouse(with pool!) ---7 nights— $623

Food/souvenirs---($85/day)(plus $100 regular grocery budget) $495

Parking---(7 days parking) $98

Gas from NC and around Orlando $180

Pet sitting(family) --- $100

It looks doable to me. Since there are only two of you, I bet you could lower your accommodations price if you had too. Although, I've never traveled to Orlando in the summer and prices are probably higher than I'm use too.

In Universal, you might be able to get the meal plan and eat all day for less. I don't remember how much it cost.

It looks like you'll have a great trip!

I agree that you could lower that accommodation price, if that's something that's not a done deal yet.
I know the Doubletree Castle is offering some $49 rates (check travelzoo) for this summer and that would save you a bit.

We're trying to get away from hotel rooms this trip, which is why I am planning on a townhouse rental. Still waiting on confirmation of what dates the family I babysit for will be out of town to book. With a teen, it will be nice to have 2 tvs, separate rooms and even a pool. The full kitchen will help with food costs(I am a big breakfast person) and the laundry will mean I can do a load of clothes if I need to.

I know we could cut the lodging in 1/2, but I think its worth it to spread out. DS feels the same way, as he was willing to endure the drive vs. flying to have his own space. The place I am looking at is a 3 bedroom, so I am still hoping to talk my sister into coming along with her kids.

Just a little info that you may find useful ..... Just returned 2 days ago from Daytona Beach via I-75. Gas along interstate in Fl is about $2.80 a gallon (that was a shock to me - about .30 a gallon more than it is here.) I-75 still has heavy road construction from Valdosta Georgia south for about 30 miles.....it was a mess. Have a great trip!!

Last year, I swear that the whole stretch of 95 through SC was under construction. We were traveling late at night through back to back thunderstorms and it was CRAZY! I have not prayed so much in two hours in a long time. GA was full of construction too, but at least the storms were gone by then. We are not traveling at night this time.

Your pricing looks correct to me. We always pay more for Disney passes than anything else and strive for low cost or free (through points) accomodations. We pay more for gas but we don't have to pay for pet sitting. Your schedule looks a lot like ours too. :)

Your townhouse sounds nice. How amazing to have a pool!

That makes sense, then.
I think your plan looks great! I don't think you've missed anything..
