7 Days at Disney & the MANY Lessons We Learned Along the Way! My Jan 2010 TR

 Your snow makes me cold.

:goodvibes

Post when you can--- the poor babies---- and poor Mom. You need some TLC.

:goodvibes

The poor little buggers! I hope they get well really quickly! :wizard:

And here's a hug for the mommy, because it's so hard to have sick kids!

You have so much snow! :scared1: Waaaaay more than we do! I knew it must be bad there again because my pal Michael (heehee) couldn't get a flight out to get to his meet in Missouri this weekend. :headache: I'm glad I didn't go all the way there to try to see him like many disappointed fans did!

I hope your weekend is full of rest for all of you...and totally devoid of snow!!!
No more snow for us... until Monday that is. I can't wait for spring. :flower3:
 Your snow makes me cold.

Post when you can--- the poor babies---- and poor Mom. You need some TLC.

:goodvibes
Babies are in bed and I'm relaxing with a cup of tea while watching the Olympics. :cloud9: Andrew's fever is down to 101 which is better than where we were this time last night. He's had 2 doses of antibiotics that should be kicking in soon. Now if I could just get him to drink more we'd be set.
   For you and your poor sick little ones!

Hang in there Girl! :goodvibes Sending up some prayers for ya!
Thanks for the prayers and hugs! This too shall pass. I keep repeating it over and over in my head...perhaps it will come true soon.

Bear with me... Photobucket hates me right now and I'll get to work fixing it soon. :headache:

I think I have all my photobucket issues all worked out. Apparently you can't change the titles you have pics in or it breaks the link. One of those "duh" moments for me.

Andrew is feeling better today- thank heavens! His fever broke last night and he's drinking more fluids. We're taking it easy today. He's playing Wii so I think he's on the mend. ;) Thanks for all of your prayers and thoughts!

DAY FOUR: Part 1
Monday, January 25th

A Day for my Little Princess! princess:

Our day began here…
DSCN3944.jpg

It was raining a little when we first started out. This was the only rain we saw our entire trip. :cool2:
DSCN3945.jpg

Made our way to Akershus to dine with Em’s Princesses!
DSCN3949.jpg

DSCN3947.jpg

DSCN3950.jpg

We met Belle first. Emily was in awe! Andrew did not want his picture with her. He wanted to know where Beast was.
DSCN3953.jpg

We convinced him to reluctantly join us for a family pic.
DSCN3954.jpg

We were taken to our table and before we even got a chance to sit down, the princesses came all at once! It was a bit overwhelming a little more rushed than I would have liked. :scared:

First up was Cinderella. Em’s face says it all!!! :goodvibes
DSCN3956.jpg

Cinderella asked Andrew to join in the picture and he surprisingly agreed. He asked her about the mice. He likes Gus Gus.
DSCN3957.jpg

Next up was Snow White. She asked how old Em was and she proudly told her “I’m 2!”
DSCN3958.jpg

Andrew agreed to a pic with her and asked about the seven dwarfs. He told her his favorite was Dopey because he‘s silly- a trait they both share.
DSCN3960.jpg

Then came Ariel. She was the last one and the one in the biggest hurry to finish. She interacted the least with Em which was disappointing since she is one of her top three favorite princesses. She signed quickly, said a few quick words to Em and then said okay let’s get a picture.
DSCN3961.jpg

It took great convincing and a bribe of a pastry to get Andrew to take a picture with her. Notice Em’s face in this one. :lmao: She couldn’t contain her excitement! Ariel is her favorite!!! (Look MOM I'm holding hands with ARIEL!!!!!)
DSCN3963.jpg

Once all the princesses had said hello, we finally settled in and ate and ate and ate some more! The food was delicious! Those potatoes were heavenly.

We headed back out of World Showcase and saw this silly guy dancing about.
DSCN3965.jpg

Andrew was being stubborn and said he was too tired from getting his pics with all the princesses so he chose not to say hello to Rafiki.

We headed straight for this!!!!! I didn’t get a chance to ride it last time and this was definitely on my checklist of Must Do’s! It’s one of my absolute favorites now!
DSCN3966.jpg

The line was short and we used the child swap so Jason could ride too. Andrew was a bit nervous at first but loved it once he relaxed. His favorite part was Tink and flying over MK. He liked that he got to ride it twice. I'm sure Em would have loved it if she were tall enough to ride. Maybe next time...

We left the land and headed to the sea because we heard a certain little fish had gone missing and we were eager to help find him. :thumbsup2
DSCN3968.jpg

We boarded a clam shell and finally found him here swimming with his Dad.
DSCN3976.jpg

We also found some of his friends.
DSCN3971.jpg

DSCN3979.jpg

Then we headed over to learn how to talk like a turtle. You so totally rock dude!
DSCN3981.jpg

While waiting for Crush, Em took a quiz in another language and did surprisingly well.
DSCN3983.jpg

We said hello to some of the creatures in Mr. Ray’s Lagoon.
DSCN4001.jpg

DSCN4002.jpg

DSCN4003.jpg

DSCN4004.jpg

Our tummies started rumbling so we had some lunch at
DSCN4015.jpg

I got the sweet and sour chicken and learned that I do not like warm pineapple. :sad2:

From there we headed to the big golf ball (as my kids call it)
DSCN3946.jpg

DSCN4011.jpg

Met Stitch on the way out. Told him we’d see him again in the morning at Ohana’s.

To be continued...

YAY more updates! Sorry I missed a few pages, but you know I've been on a little adventure of my own! ;)

Great updates. Sorry about the crowds at DHS. It seems that you have to hit that park on just the right day anymore, otherwise it's so packed. But all in all it looks like you had a great day!

Looks like a great day at Epcot, except for the rain. Akershus sounds wonderful. One of those places that a mom of 2 boys will probably never get to visit! :rotfl: Em looks so happy getting to see all the princesses. princess:

Can't wait for more! :yay:

So glad Andrew got to do the jedi training ! :cool1:
We were in DHS that same day - I don't remember the clouds being so cloudy :confused3. We stayed for Fantasmic! :wizard:

Awww, look at the Little Princess meeting the Princesses.:goodvibes
So dang sweet.

I really loved her little face all bright and shiney with excitement--- so cute.

Glad you got to do Soarin'-- and maybe next trip Em can ride too.:)

So happy Andrew is feeling better now--- how scary.

Waiting for the rest of the day.:)

Jo

PS---
(OT---- Welcome Home Shelly! Can't wait to hear all about it.:) Forget the laundry- we want a mini TR and pics.popcorn::)

:lmao:

Subbing! I love your trip report so far! My kids will be these ages when we take a trip sometime LOL, so I couldn't resist reading.

How brave of your DS to do the Jedi training. My DS is really shy and never would have answered the questions. (he also can not follow directions and would have run around fighting the other kids and screaming...)

Those pictures of your DD and the princesses are so sweet. I keep trying to convince DH that we need to see some princesses, now that we have a DD! (He's not buying it, since she's a baby...)

I love those little license plates on the back of your stroller. Where did you get them? And can I ask what kind of stroller you have? We're thinking about getting a double for Disney. Do you think it's worth it not to have two singles? DD will probably be in the sling a lot this year still, but not all the time, and probably will need a stroller most of the time next year.

Sorry for all the questions! I'm really enjoying your trip report! Can't wait to read more!

Just found your trip report and enjoyed reading what you've written so far. We were there 1/27 - 2/4 and saw a lot of Brazilian tour groups too. You took a much more relaxed approach to the trip, which I hope to do next time. I was a mom-on-a-mission (ride as many rides as we possibly could!) and hope to do a better mix of rides and experiences next time.

I can't wait to read more!

I just found your trip report and am all caught up!
Your kids are so cute. I have a dd named Emily too. Nice choice in name!:thumbsup2:rotfl2:
I'm sorry to hear your trip got off to a rough start. Sounds like Tinkerbell heard your wishes and sprayed you some pixie dust. :tink:
How did you like CBR? I'm considering it for our next trip. Too funny about the flags!:lmao: I know it must of not been funny then however. We had the same issue in May with the graduation trips. We had soaking wet people in ponchos that were about 10 years old standing in top of us when we were eating too and speaking inappropriately.
I'm so happy to hear Andrew got his day at DHS! Yay, for getting chosen for the jeti training academy. He looks in heaven during it! Too funny about being worried about his lightsaber. (or something to those words)
Emily looks like she is on cloud 9 with the princesses.:cloud9: :cutie:
Can't wait for more!

Hey Kim! I finally got here! Computer woes and sick kiddos here kept me away!! Well, I have comments!!!! First, your kids are soo adorable!! I love seeing Disney through their eyes and watching the little faces speak what they feel--
We didnt deal with tour groups, only Pop Warner cheerleaders and football players!!! YIKES!!!!! I have had the tour groups there in the past...much worse, but ours was pretty obnoxious at times.
Sorry Ariel was snotty to Emily!! That is just not right, who could rush a sweet little thing like her? I have found that usually Snow White is the nicest one and takes the most time with the kids.
My oldest son can't handle the pressure of knowing about a Disney trip before we go either---hence the # of surprise trips I have done! Great report and lovin your pics----hope your kids are better, the snow is stopped, and your FIL is doing okay and we are praying for his healing!

Great update! :yay:

Luckily the rain was finished by the time we came out of Akershus.

Your boys should take YOU to Akershus or CRT! You're never too old to meet the princesses!

Can't wait to hear all about your trip! I'm sure the boys had a blast with all those water slides. :cloud9:
So glad Andrew got to do the jedi training ! :cool1:

Funny- I didn't remember it being that cloudy either. :confused3 When I got home and uploaded my pics I was surprised at the amount of clouds. How was Fantasmic? I've yet to see it. :sad2: We thought about it but weren't sure how the kids would do with it. We may do it next time when they might not get too scared.

It was *so dang sweet* !!! I had trouble holding the camera because her little facial expressions were so funny. Em is like me when it comes to rides. She was sad she wasn't allowed on some things. Andrew is like his daddy- had to convince them both to get on the Tea Cups for pete's sake! I can't wait until Em is big enough so I'll have a riding partner for all the fast rides!

Subbing! I love your trip report so far! My kids will be these ages when we take a trip sometime LOL, so I couldn't resist reading.

:welcome: First and foremost...your little princess DOES need to see some princesses, there is not age requirement. I couldn't see forking out all the $$ for Cindy's Royal Table so we did Akershus. It was a great experience for her and we got some great food so it was a win-win for everyone.

Perhaps DS will be ready for the Jedi training by the time you go. Maybe stand and watch it first so he will know what to expect. My DS loved it and still talks about it every day!

Double stroller- Here's my take on it: Last year we took 2 singles and vowed never to do it again. On the buses, I had both kids (ages 1 and 4 at the time) while DH struggled with 2 strollers. We hated it. Plus my DS didn't ride all the time and many occasions we found ourselves pushing an empty one and sometimes one of us was trying to push both strollers. Wouldn't do it again if you paid me. This trip we took a double. It's a Maclaren- got it off of Craigslist for $100. I bought it because I am a family child care provider and needed it for my business, of course I had the idea of using it for Disney in the back of my mind when I bought it. ;) It folds up small like 2 umbrellas together, doesn't weigh tons, and can hold up to 55lbs in each seat. It is used daily for bus stop runs and walks and it is still in excellent condition. Our next trip (which will be a couple years from now :sad2: ) we will be flying instead of driving and have decided that we will rent from Disney since our kids will be a bit older and capable of walking more.
Hope that helped! :goodvibes

The relaxed approach was really what we needed this time around. I'm so glad we did it that way. :cloud9: It made it feel like a real vacation and we weren't as worn out when we came home.

:welcome: Thanks for joining in! Emily is a great name pick isn't it! ;) We love CBR. This was our 4th time staying there. We don't mind the walk to the food court. It's a beautiful resort and have always found it to be pretty quiet and calm. The tropical details make you feel like you are on a little Caribbean island with a hint of Disney magic.

Glad to hear your computer and your kiddos are all better. I'm not sure which is worse- Pop Warner or tour groups! :scared1: Both are not fun in my opinion. :sad2:
Snow White and Cinderella were the nicest and really took a moment or two with Em.
Thanks for the prayers for my FIL. I really appreciate it. :flower3:
Great TR so far! Hurry up and update ;)
No pressure right?
Great update! :yay:

What did Cinderella have to say about the mice when Andrew asked about them?

Do you think Emily noticed that Ariel rushed through? Her face in that pic with Ariel is just pure excitement!

You capture such wonderful emotions in all of your pictures!

I'm glad you got to ride Soarin'...it's one of my favorites. :cloud9:

Everytime your updates end I say "Noooooooooooo!" I want more!!! :lmao:
He told Cinderella that he liked the mice and she asked which one was his favorite. She told him she would be sure to tell them that he said hello. I thought it was nice of her to not just talk to Em and was happy she didn't leave him out of the conversation.
I don't think Em noticed that she was being rushed. She was too overwhelmed and just happy to be so close to the real Ariel.
Great update!! I hope your kids are all on the mend and your FIL is in our prayers!

YAY more updates! Sorry I missed a few pages, but you know I've been on a little adventure of my own! ;)
