7 Days at Disney & the MANY Lessons We Learned Along the Way! My Jan 2010 TR

Enjoying your TR! :tink:

Very attractive huh?

:mickeybar This picture will come in handy when he brings a girl home to meet you someday in the far off future! Trust me.

Then got in line for Peter Pan’s Flight. We got all the way up to the front when Em decided she had to go potty. This had been about the millionth time she’d done this on this trip so we were used to it. :upsidedow Ran potty and got back in line again.[/LIST]

I'm glad you got out of line to take her. On our tip last month to WDW, we got in line for Mission Space (it was a 10 min wait) About 2 mins into waiting the little boy in front of us told his dad that he had to pee "real bad". His dad said "Too bad, we are already in line!" After about 8 mins of waiting - and the little boy did the potty dance and held himself for dear life the entire time - we got on the ride. Luckily, DH and I were in a different "vehicle". Not sure what happened after that, but I was so worried for the little guy. Also, I was surprised that very young kids can ride the more intense side of the ride.

Hope you are feeling better!
Catching the parade in Frontierland was one of our secrets :thumbsup2- which I thought I shared on here somewhere :confused3
You had some great luck with getting onto the fantasyland attractions!

And don't worry about updates- in case you haven't noticed I am still on arrival day!

What a great evening! Some beach time, dinner, ending the day at MK! Looking forward to reading more!

5 MORE!!!! Geesh! :scared1: As long as Ken (king of the Star Wars household) is proud than I'm doing okay I guess. :lmao:

You are doing GREAT!!! :thumbsup2 Believe me - they are ALL worth watching! :) The prequel series is really cool cause you get to see the evolution of Anakin Skywalker into Darth Vader! SO COOL!!! :cool1:

We grabbed some dinner at CBR and decided MK would be a nice place to visit this evening.

When we came out we realized why the crowds were so low. Everyone was busy staking out their spots for Spectromagic. I completely forgot it was a Spectro night. At the last minute we grabbed a nice little spot and used a couple snack credits to get some popcorn:: and :drinking1.

Lessons Learned from DAY FOUR:
  • Yes, I know Disney is expensive and far away but the look on my daughter’s face when she met her favorite princesses made it all worthwhile. Pure joy.
  • Soarin’ is my new favorite attraction! So glad I didn’t miss it this time.
  • Always know where the nearest restroom is located. A newly potty trained child will ALWAYS have to visit the bathroom when you get to the front of a line, even if you just went before getting in line.
  • Frontierland is an excellent spot to view parades- much less crowded than Main Street.
  • I need a hammock at home…and the Caribbean themed waterfront view to go along with it. :cloud9:

WHAT??????? :scared1: You were at MK on the 25th??????? We were there too!!!!! :confused3 How did we miss each other?????? :confused3 We were probably in Fantasyland at the exact same time!!! Oh well maybe we will bump into each other some other time! ;)

I totally agree with your list! :thumbsup2 I too would LOVE :cloud9: to have a hammock in my back yard! :goodvibes Frontierland IS an excellent place to watch Spectro! We watched it from Main St this year and I think next time we will go back to Fronteirland! Much less crowded! :)

I'd love a hammock too. Except did you guys watch the Samantha Brown anniversary stuff on Travel Channel? One of the memorable moments was when she flipped a hammock and landed flat on her back. I was worried she'd cracked her head, she was laughing. I would do that, only I would crack my head open.

I have to try watching a parade from Frontierland or Liberty Square sometime. I'd love to avoid that elbow-to-elbow business.

Great updates! :thumbsup2
Lovin' the hammock! Looks very relaxing & peaceful!

So cute of your DD w/the Princesses.....thats how I felt when we went last trip and my DD was just in awe of them all!! It is just great!

We are going to have Breakfast @ Akershus on our upcoming trip...it's a first for us to eat there!

CBR looks fantastic! Did you love it? I'd read mixed reviews about it being so far with the busses, but since you had your own car I guess you didn't have to deal with that.

Soarin' is my new favorite ride too. Loved it!!!

We caught Spectro in Frontierland and had no problem getting a spot 20 minutes after the parade had started on Main Street! Not crowded at all and we rode BTMR while we were waiting. :thumbsup2

I'm really enjoying your report and was glad to see the update!
We are partial to CBR. We've stayed there 3 times since 2001. During our first stay, we didn't have a car and had no trouble with the buses. They were crowded in the evenings but you can't avoid it when thousands of people are all leaving the parks at once. We did use the buses a few times this trip (mainly to MK) but found it easier to drive with a bulky stroller and two kids.
Great update, you are really making me miss CBR though! :cloud9: I agree, I need a hammock and a CBR view to go along with it too! :thumbsup2

So glad you got to enjoy Soarin this time, it's one of my favorites! :lovestruc

YAY for MK having low crowds that evening. And how lucky that you got to see Spectro without having to stake out a spot hours in advance! :goodvibes

PS -- Great picture of Dumbo's BEHIND!! :lmao::rotfl:

I thought you might like the Dumbo shot. It's for all my MAYer friends. :snooty: I'd give anything to be back in that hammock right now. It's cold here and there's talk of more snow coming tomorrow. :scared1:
I would love to find a spot not as crowded to view the parade. I have read Liberty Square is pretty nice for parade watching. You settled in Frontierland? Did you see how Liberty Square looked?

Soarin' is my favorite attraction of all the parks!!

:rotfl2: I think we will have the same with Lilian--always needing to go to the bathroom!! I think I will memorize where all the restrooms are before we leave :thumbsup2:
I think technically we were between Liberty Square and Frontierland. I think you'd be fine in either spot.
Soarin was definitely spectacular!! :woohoo:
Get those maps out and start studying those potty locations now! Little girls have little bladders!

awwww, so sweet and cute and precious!

I am liking the way you toured this trip.

The hammock pictures are so wonderful. So sweet.

ANd what can you say about Dumbo's BEHIND? It's large.:snooty:

:lmao:

great update!

Enjoying your Trippie! :thumbsup2 Can't wait to read more :)
Thanks! :cool1: I'm trying my best to keep up with updates between regular life!
Enjoying your TR! :tink:

:mickeybar This picture will come in handy when he brings a girl home to meet you someday in the far off future! Trust me.
:lmao: I'll add it to my collection of embarrassing ones. Maybe I'll put it right next to the one of him as a baby running down the hall in his bday suit after tub. He is soooo going to hate me in about 10-15 years. ;)

Mission Space is one that we skip- it's intense enough without having a full bladder. I hope the poor kid made it through dry. :sad2:

Well it's a good secret! Shhhh. We don't want the masses knowing about it. ;)
Arrival day  As if you have more important things to do than to be here and update all of us. Sheesh!

What a great evening! Some beach time, dinner, ending the day at MK! Looking forward to reading more!
It really was a great day! Of course any day that you're at Disney is great though isn't it? :thumbsup2

Yeah, we'll bump into each other some other time. :rotfl:
We watched part of the second Star Wars last night. We'll finish it tonight. I've heard the newer ones are a little less PG than the original 3. I may have to watch them first before letting Andrew watch them. What's your take?

I didn't see that one- how embarrassing! A hammock would probably cause injuries at my house too. I guess I will just have to look forward to relaxing in it on our next trip. *sigh*
Great updates! :thumbsup2

Isn't it amazing to see the look on your little one's face when they are experiencing the magic for the first time. Nothing like it.
Akershus was a great place to dine! The potato casserole was heavenly! Yum! Sure beats the bowl of mini wheats I had this morning.

great update!

Poor Dumbo! What an angle! As if his ears aren't enough of a reason to be picked on. :lmao:

This trip I think was by far my favorite and the relaxed approach was definitely a big part of why I had so much fun.

Those hammock pictures of your feet are so cute! I felt like I was there, with my own little person beside me!

I love that picture of your DS on It's a small world, he's looking around in amazement, so excited!

Sounds like you caught a great night at the MK! I always catch the parades from crowded Main Street. I'll have to try frontierland next time!

You're the third person I've read say that!!! I think those of us "veterans" have learned a thing or two about Disney touring!

I think after a couple trips you are not in such a rush and are able to relax more... imagine when we become even more veteran at the disney touring ;)

The prequel series is DEFINITELY a little more than PG!!! Emily watched the original series at 6.5/7. We didn't let her watch the prequel series until she had turned 8! I would say you and Jay should watch them first and then decide when and if Andrew is ready to watch them! :goodvibes Episode 1 is fairly tame but the next 2 and especially #3 is VERY mature!

Happy Watching! :goodvibes

I was thinking of that little hammock today while looking out my window at MORE SNOW! :scared1:
That was probably the third time we were on Small World too! It's one of our favorites. Such detail- there's always something new to see!

It really does make a difference to relax and just go with the flow. I couldn't believe how much better the trip was! :cloud9:

If only I lived close enough to visit more often and be a true veteran!

Thanks Kim! I think we'll hold off on the prequel ones then. These first ones are enough. I wanted to wait until he was at least 6 before he watched any of them but his passion for Star Wars has made me give in a little earlier. He'll be 6 in April. ;)

I just caught up with your last two updates!
I love your Akershus pictures, Em is so cute with the princesses!
And i just love CBR & MK at night! Your pictures are great. :wizard:
