7 day Ticket Options

We will be staying at the GC in August for 7 days. Are our only options for tickets for the whole trip a 5 day ticket plus a 2 day ticket or annual passes? It looks like the passes would be a bit more expensive (not taking into account whatever discounts the passes get you). Am I missing something? We are WDW regulars so I am used to being able to get as many days as we want on our tickets. And while we will be doing other things while we are out there, I would like the ability to hit the parks in the morning, go do other things, then close the parks down. Thanks!

Yes, those are the only options. DLR does not sell tickets over 5 days, nor can you add days over 5 days. If you're considering deluxe APs, check the blockout dates for your stay. If you decide to to 5+2 days, you can save a little by not getting hoppers for one set of tickets. If you're only doing the parks in the mornings on some days, you can get by without hopping on those days.

Another option, plan to do other things on two of those days, and do 5 "full" days at the two Disneyland Parks.

Such as a day at Buena Park, Knott's Berry Farm is less than $50 per person if bought 3 days in advance. Also Two Family Dinner Theaters, and hopefully the new Butterfly Palladium will be open. Easy to get to using Public Transit.

Maybe a day trip to Universal Studios Hollywood, the Anaheim Tour Company and Starline Tours willtake you there.

Have a car? Newport Beach and the Balboa Pier is nice, as is Huntington Beach and its's Pier area. Also, Long Beach with the Aquarium of the Pacific and the RMS Queen Mary.

Also lots of Shopping, South Coast Plaza, the Citadel Outlets and the Outlets at Orange are favorites.

Also maybe go check out a sports event, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and the Anaheim Ducks play nearby, and the ART system provides special shuttle service.

Hope that helps

We're planning on doing Huntington Beach for sure and maybe drive up the coast a bit. And do the LA Spartan Race going ton while we are there. We are on the fence on Universal (I think Harry Potter would be the big draw) and an LA tour of some sort. The non-hopper 2 day is a great idea as we'd be talking about a few hours at night and could live with not hopping those nights.

Thanks!

You also may want to consider doing a "rest" day in the middle. By rest I mean doing things like swimming at the hotel, checking out Downtown Disney, or our favorite, scheduling a hotel character meal like Goofy's Kitchen. Basically things that you might want to do at the resort that does not require park access. We do this now for every trip and it is amazing how just one low key day can refresh us and make the last several park days much more enjoyable.

We always have a rest day, by the 3 day in Disney the kids are ready for a sleep in and pool day.. I like to go the little indoor flea market they have a free shuttle to pick you up and drop you off.. they have some cheap Disney stuff there.. great for buying for my class kids .
