Hi all,

Want to make ressies for Rose and Crown (15 trips and have never eaten there) but can't figure out what time would be better (7:15 or 7:50) to catch Illuminations. Summer months tend to be busy and free dining probably will be offered, so it will be busy at restaurants. Is it safer for us to go at 7:15 in case there's a wait? My thoughts on 7:50 is that most people will already be "settled in" on the patio at that point so our chances of being seated outside will likely be slimmer.

Thoughts?

TIA!

PS. I know that there aren't any guarantees of sitting on the patio, etc., so the issue isn't really about the patio seating but more about timing the dinner right in order to see Illuminations somewhere from the restaurant....:thumbsup2

Definitely 7:15. You can ask for an outside seat and tell them you are willing to wait as well. Good luck, but if you don't get an outside seat, don't worry, because you an always get up and watch from outside anyways.

7:15 it is! It may very well end up that we'll want to be inside since we go during a hot and humid time! Good to know that we will still be able to go outside either way :thumbsup2!

I just booked my first ADR online for Rose & Crown for 5-31 @ 7pm so we can catch Illuminations. Whoo hoo!
So from what I'm understanding is that they won't care that we sit there for 2 hrs to watch Illuminations? Do we need to tell them that in advance?

Just switched from 7:15 to 7:00. Reading other posts, it sounds like there is usually a bit of a wait before being seated (but I figure this probably depends on what time of year it is), and if seated by 7:30, it appears that there is no issue with you staying to watch Illuminations. You can request a patio seat when you check in, but if this is not available and you are placed inside instead, you should let your server know that you wish to watch Illuminations and you will be brought outside to a special area to do so. Good luck to us both! :thumbsup2

I'm just asking because I'm curious...if you have a 7 pm reservation and are seated shortly thereafter and done eating at 8 pm are you really going to sit at a table for an hour without ordering anything additional? There is no way servers are encouraging that! lol I get you wanna see Illuminations but you can watch it from anywhere around the lake. We generally find a spot about 30 minutes before and just sit and wait, never really had any issues doing so either.

1) It's very likely that I won't be seated at exactly 7:00 during the season I am going.

2) We will likely not all be done by 8:00.

3) No, I will not sit at a table for an hour and not order anything else.

4) No one said servers or anyone else was encouraging that type of behavior.

5) I've been to WDW at least 15 times in the last 11 years and I am fully aware that I can watch Illuminations from other areas in the park.

6) I am not you, so I will do what suits me and my family.

7) Relax.

8) Oh, and LOL! Hmm, not so funny, huh?

9) Hope my answers have fully satisfied your curioisity.

This ressie was made for 7pm. BASED ON PAST DINERS' SUGGESTIONS as each waited at least a half-hour before even being seated, inside or out.

Thanks, and have a wonderful day!
