*7/15 A Trip Report* The Year of a Thousand Trips! ~ PTR

Day 2
Wednesday, October 14

Today is our Epcot morning. We'll probably get up and do the Soarin' Rush for Rope Drop. (even staying at the MK until close the night before is only 9) I want to get in Soarin', Living with the Land, and Spaceship Earth( the last two I've never done!) I think we can get those in before the lines get too long. The rest is gravy. I like Test Track, but I won't die without it, and I learned my lesson the hard way with Spaceship Earth.

Even though I'm not sure how I'll do with my surgery and portions, I do believe I'll find more things at table service restaurants that I'll be able to eat (think Atkins diet, but high fat) so I've made reservations for all our meals. If I change my mind, I can always cancel the reservations. We have a 12:00 lunch ressie at Rose & Crown which I've heard mixed reports about so if it doesn't suit that day we might just do the F&W thing again. We'll play it by ear. Probably hit the WS countries that we missed the day before and wander out the back door to the BW! I'm sure there will be a long nap this afternoon!!

That night we have a reservation at Artist Point at 5:35. I've never been to the Wilderness Lodge so I'm really excited about it. I'm also excited because we'll be taking the boat over to the MK for MNSSHP after that. I loved this last year and I'm so excited to be going again!! My big wish is to do Splash Mountain after dark. (I hear it's amazing!) And, of course, we'll have to hit the Haunted Mansion too. (Last year we went during the first parade and it was perfect!! Hopefully we'll be all rested from our night and ready to stay for the 2nd parade and the villains show to end our night!

Day 2 looks wonderful!!!! I think you''ll like R&C- at least I hope you do, cuz that means I'll like it too. :)

Wow....I can't wait to be able to go to a MNSSHP one day....I love Halloween! Any ideas on what you'll be dressing up as?

What a jam-packed-fun-filled day! :goodvibes

And yes, I'm going to ask as well ... what are you dressing as for the party???

Kathy

Hey!! I've missed you. Hope your move went smoothly. :)

I've missed you, too!! I'm so glad to be back--I was having DIS withdrawals!! Our move went very smoothly! We had lots of friends and family that helped!! :goodvibes

We've eaten at R&C two or three times and have always enjoyed it!

So WHAT are you dressing up as this year???

We dressed up when we went in 2008 but I think when we go this year we'll be content with Halloween sweatshirts.

I hope so too. It sounds good and it has a great location!

I love MNSSHP!!! I absolutely love the atmosphere and it's the best parade ever! This year I really want to try and meet more characters. I especially want to meet the dwarves.

I think it will be! I don't know about dressing for the party. I don't even know what SIZE I'll be, since I'll be about 3 months out from my gastric bypass. :confused3

Last year we wore Halloween t-shirts and they were really great. I had them made by a seller on ebay. Maybe I'll get some made for us again this year. They were comfy and easy!

Hi Shannon!! I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day!! :goodvibes

Thanks honey! I had a great Mother's Day. We went to Atlanta (my mom & I and my kids) to see Mary Poppins at the Fox Theatre. It was WONDERFUL!!!

So, if you add up those nights, we're looking at 4 in October and 6 or 7 in March. And you know what you buy if you're thinking 10 nights right? OH YEA.... APs for us!!!
Love your PTRs and your TRs, Shannon. Don't forget to use your DVC discount when you purchase your APs...one of the best DVC perks!

How is your mom feeling? Sarah

Shannn, I think that your trip reports and descriptions of MNSSHP are largely responsible for my decision to go this fall when I [whispers] go to see the Wizarding World of HP. I'm not generally big on parades, but this is one I've got to see!

Just read your TR's. Love the Christmas TR! I have always wanted to go to Disney at Christmas time!

I'M BACK!

This summer has been a tough one for me and Disney has taken a back burner. I had my surgery in July. It has been a hard recovery, but I'm doing well and I've lost 50 pounds so far. I still have a lot more to lose but I'm happy with my results in the last 11 weeks.

My mom's cancer returned with a vengeance and we were told a few weeks ago that there's no more treatments available to her. She has gone rapidly downhill since then and we've begun hospice visits. She is in a considerable amount of pain and it's the hardest thing I've ever done to watch her suffer.

But....Disney in October is coming up fast and I'm about to make our Adrs for March as well. So where was I?

Day 3: Friday October 15

This is our Hollywood Studios day. I can not wait to pull Sam onto ToT. He's never ridden it and I absolutely loved it! Of course I have to challenge him to TSM. We've never ridden together since we always have children along. It will be cool! Lunch this day is the Brown Derby. I really want to try the Cobb salad!

That night after a rest, we're going to hop on over through the back door at Epcot and have dinner at Le Cellier! Sam would have liked to have dinner here every night, but he'll have to settle for just this one!

I hope I have some readers left who'll jump back in with me. I've really missed hanging out here!

Congratulations on your successful surgery and your weight loss!

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. You, she and your family will be in my thoughts.

Hey Shann! I'm still here!
Congrats on your weight loss! I wish you continued sucess.

I'm so sorry about your mom's battle with cancer. I will pray for peace for her and your family.

Shannon.............I just finished reading your October and December trip reports. You have a very cute family.

Congrats on the weight loss!!! :thumbsup2

So sorry to hear about your mom. She as well as the rest of your family are in my prayers.

Just an update for those of you who are still following along. My mom passed away on Saturday morning. She went peacefully in her sleep after a difficult few weeks and a long fight with cancer. It is very empty at my house, but I know it is a blessing that she isn't suffering anymore.
