60th birthday? Of trip timing - which would you pick

Would you pick the last week of February for the lower crowds?

Or would you go your actual 60th birthday week - in March - spring break for many?

For many years we were restricted to March Spring Break with our kids, so now that we're empty nesters we go in January when crowds are lower. But my birthday is in January, and my DH is in early February, so we can go in late January to celebrate both. For a milestone birthday such as yours, I'd want to be at WDW for my birthday, because when I'm there I can still feel like I'm ten years old again!

For sure do Feb instead of March. Those spring break crowds are brutal. Your time will be so much more relaxed and enjoyable.

I'd do Feb. If you feel guilty, write almost 60th or countdown to 60th on a birthday button. This year if I went on my birthday, I'd have to be eating turkey legs with 50 million others. It lands on Thanksgiving this year.

Speaking from experience here, March birthday and I always go last week of February to beat the crowds. it's much more enjoyable, I've traveled during spring break when my daughter was in school. Feb trip is better.

It’s a milestone birthday, but I’ve stopped trying to go on actual birthdays after being sorely disappointed for the past few. Will you be celebrating with family when you get back? If that’s the case then Feb.

Otherwise just go on your actual birthday and lower expectations.

If you go a bit earlier February you can attend the Festival of Arts. This would make a nice 60th birthday trip.

I would want to be at a festival. I suppose I would go for my actual birthday. Easter is in April next year, so, I don’t think March will be too bad. I’m actually going in late March and beginning of April!

Easter timing doesn't change the spring breaks anywhere around us.
It's always in March.

I have a Jan. birthday and go then, DH has April and we went last year for his. It was fine.
Between Feb and March, I would go in Feb. Lower crowds, nicer weather and Festival of the Arts.

March is pretty crowded (despite the holidays being on different weeks for different regions). Think shoulder to shoulder fireworks crowds; passes selling out by noon.

We are going over Christmas, so lower expectations and have fun despite the crowds; Plan for lines for food/snacks and slow moving crowds everywhere; exit the parks earlier or a bit later than fireworks

We did this with the kids when there were young and they loved it. Of course that all stopped once they hit those pre-teen years.

We went January for 3 days with DD. Used my free companion pass to bring DH.

And my friends picked Grand Cayman for February. Will use the companion pass for a friend.

I'll be there last week of February this year - 1 and 1/2 more weeks to go!

My birthday is also in January! I've done quite a few January trips over the years. Including the one where you got a free ticket on your birthday!

2026 I'll be there in January and first week of February, just not on my actual birthday. Have to stay home because we have birthdays with my kids and grandkids that run Dec 30, 31, January 17, 19 and 19 - 5 birthdays in three weeks! When the last two are old enough me may get to do an actual trip on our day.

Hmmm I just saw a night open while I was in Florida with DD. So we did agree to snag it, during that birthday month…

I would first check a few things. Which week will be the President's Day / Ski Week / Princess Half Marathon week(end)? That can make the parks very busy. Then I would check when Mardi Gras is as all of LA is there during it (or so it seems). I have gone a number of times the first week of March and I do not find it too bad as long as I avoid Mardi Gras. This year I am going a week later to avoid Mardi Gras (3/4) week. Hoping it will not be too bad. But I also would prefer being in the parks for big birthdays and going early March means I miss my late Feb birthday (although I go to DL since I am local there).

Last week of Feb so long as the President's Day - week-long visitors are gone by then. You can still wear the Happy Birthday pin. No one will be asking for your to validate your birthday with your ID. Choose the chance for cooler weather and lower lines.
