I am thinking of staying at a hotel during the sixtieth anniversary but before I book things I just want to make sure it's in July right? The 15th of July? Thanks in advance

I can barely wait for the announcements on what will be going on celebration wise for the 60th.

I'm excited too. I've never been on an anniversary and I am trying to decide if staying at an on site resort would be a good idea. I live close to disneyland but I really don't want to deal with parking and traffic

Well I am sure you are well aware that the Disneyland resort hotels give the best Disney experience, but there are some amazing offsite ones too that are super close and walking distance to the parks. I was at Disneyland for the 50th and that was fun. A lot going on for the park celebration. I really hope they at least consider a brand new parade, fireworks or something for the 60th.

RUMOR has it that they will be having a new firework show and a new parade! The last "Remember" firework show was in November, they are currently doing "Believe" for Christmas and I heard "Remember" is not scheduled to come back next year, so I THINK that means they are making a new show.

As for a new parade, I read that they MAY bring the Hong Kong Disneyland Parade "Paint the Night" here too. We have new "Glow with the Show" items now called "Made with Magic" items that look very similar to the "Paint the Night" items. So maybe!

These are what I think will happen based on rumors, so please don't take my word for it. But I do hope these happen :yay:

I was there for the 50th and all the extras they had during this time was amazing, I can hardly wait for whats in store for the 60th. The HK Paint the Night Parade looks amazing so I would be soooo happy if this was coming or even better something that included more classic Disney not just Pixar. I loved the electrical parade and this looks like the Electrical Parade of the future! PS, looking forward to our stay with you next year!

I won't quote you but that would be amazing. I too had heard rumor of them bringing in a new night time parade. Who knows :) I really wouldn't doubt it if they do a new parade and fireworks. They went all out for the 50th so I cant imagine they wouldn't do something for another 10 year milestone.

Hey Kriss, so nice to meet you on our trip last month. Loved the hotel. I hope that we can get Paint the Night. A friend told me that this was an amazing parade. I'm kinda bummed that I won't see "Remember", but I'm sure that whatever replaces it will be amazing. And hopefully Dumbo still flies - I never got to see that.

Just Peachy, that is just peachy! Thanks for telling us about that. Saweeeeet!!!! :cool1:

I'm pretty sure I am going to be staying at one of the Disney resorts, I can't decide if I want to stay at the Disneyland Hotel since it's been a good decade since if I have stayed there or the Grand Californian (where I stayed 2 years ago for the 24 hour disney day.) It's expensive so that may be off the table (The Grand Californian) I wouldn't mind Paradise Pier again, I stayed there back in April..

So I guess I am asking which one do you think would be best? I'm probably only staying there for 2ish days.

If you are worried so much about budget stay at the Disneyland hotel. There you will get of of the best Disney feel experiences, not break the budget and you have access to the monorail.

Saw this yesterday over on another Disney "blog spot". You have to tab half-way down the article to get to the 60th anniversary stuff. There will be the official announcements from Disney on Friday.

I can hardly wait!
:woohoo:

There's a lot of exciting things on that report - if even half of it comes into works (especially the night parade) I'll be sooo happy!

This question is asked a lot. Here are a couple of recent threads on the subject:

My family's preference is DLH. We really love the new headboards and the renovations that were done a couple of years ago (as evidenced by this picture of one of my D-twins from a few years back).

Having said that, for our next trip to DLR we are staying at the Grand Californian, but with DVC in a two bedroom villa (the cost was much more reasonable than one of the Theme Suits at the DLH).
