$600 to $700 dollars to rent a car after Christmas????!!!?????!!

THEY'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING!! I get a quote pre-Christmas for less than $200 a week for a mid-size car. The same car costs $5, 6, even 700 dollars the week following Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is there ANYWHERE to get a cheap car rental after Christmas???????

What are your dates? I just looked on National Car, and for 12/26-1/2, it's $447. That's booking regular, without the Priceless vacation code or any coupon.

When I checked in as an Emerald Club member, used pricelss vacation code and an entertainment coupon, I found it to be $348.

Alamo is $434 before any coupons for a full sized car.


Just one suggestion. If you really need a car, book one, even if the rates seem high. I booked a full sized car for last summer and it was $450, for two weeks. I thought it was INSANELY high, and kept looking. Well, the rates went up to about $600 and stayed there. Suddenly I was glad I booked at $450!

I have a car booked with Budget from 12/28 to 1/2 for $250. I also have a reservation with National -- for $185 (I plan to take ME to our DVC-hotel (Boardwalk), and then walk over to the Dolphin HOtel and pick-up the car at the National Counter, and then will return it to the airport).
You could also consider picking up the car at the Disney Car Care Center (if you are staying on property).

Ummm..it IS Xmas week...peak season...supply and demand will dictate higher prices. You certainly aren't going to be seeing any good deals.

I just looked at National for your dates 12/27 thru 01/04 it came out to 212.81 with taxes and fees. Used the AE code 5125601 (you may be asked to show an American Express credit card, so have one with you ) and the Entertainment coupon code 10009123. This is the exact same price I am paying for 8 days October 22nd thru the 30th, which I don't believe is considered a peak season. Good Luck!!

I booked my car back in late April early May for our Christmas trip. It's through National-Car Care Center--Full Size -- 12/18 pickup (6pm) 12/29 (6pm) dropoff. It started out around $330. and I got it down to $172.

I'm glad I booked it early!

I dont' care! I'm not paying them 3 or 4X the amount for the same car, same service, only "peak" season.

I've pushed my dates back a little to save money.

Hi there, I booked in March for my upcoming Jan 06 trip and found prices to be high one week, then low the next. I ended up getting a 1 week rental from Jan 8-15 for $105+taxes($131 taxes in) from Alamo. We'll take ME to ASMu then pick up the car at the Dolphin resort. I read somewhere that if you pick up your car at MCO the prices are way higher. By picking the car up at Dolphin it cut my rental price in half. Hope it helps.

We go every year and this is SUPER HIGH season for cars. Try mousesavers for some codes and book a car fast. Cars do sell out at this time of the year. I got a Fulll size from national from 12/23- 1/2 for 320.00 with all taxes and fees. Book something or you may find yourself walking.

That's like me......we are traveling on 12/17 and 12/27. We'll use ME. I have a car booked from 12/18-12/26, picking up at the Dolphin, and it's only $100!

Our original ressie was pciking up at the airport on the 17th, and returning it the 27th, for $150. I just like the idea of ME dealing with our bags at the airport......one less hassle for me.
