Hi Kathy,

Finally got all caught up. Joe and I love Chefs. Glad you did too.

I would have gone nuts with the kids in the pool making all that noise. :-(

Loved your pics of the lights. We were there one year and missed them if you can believe that.

Can't wait to read more.

Another great update. I really want a snowball!! We ate at YSH last year and it was fantastic.

The lights at HS were canceled when we were there in Nov a couple of years ago. Your pictures are wonderful!!

I'll do replies and an update tomorrow.

In the meantime, I booked my flights for my June trip with Mary (MaryAZ) and the girls. I arrive on Thursday, June 6, at 10:20 p.m. and fly home Wendesday, June 12, arriving home at 11:55 a.m. This gets me home in plenty of time to go and get my pedicure and nails done and leave for Dubuque the next day for the wedding. And the best part? My airfare was $213.80 round trip.

I'll be starting a PTR at some point...but definitely not until I finish this TR.

WOW!!! You aren't worried coming in the day before the wedding? :confused3

The wedding is on Friday; the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner is on Thursday so I'll be fine. And I'll be tan for my pretty dress. :goodvibes

An exciting June !!! Disney and the Wedding!!!!:banana:I am going to Vermont in June I think the 13th, another P&P trip !!!

After finishing with Santa Goofy, we continued walking the Streets to see more lights and to hear the music played over and over. Actually, I don't think we were walking, I think we were doing a mixture of dancing, gliding and jiving.
Isn't it a great feeling??? You just kind of lose all track of time and where you are and get sucked into the music and the lights.

How about some more Osborne lights? No, well too bad...it's my TR and I loved them and I'm going to share them.
I don't think there were any objections anyway.

Unfortunately, we got back to the Coronado and the same group was creating the same mischief and we again had to walk to the main building (we ended up meeting the kids there who had stopped in the gift shop).
This is the part where you quit trying to take care of things by going to the front desk and just take matters into your own hands. You should have texted me, I'd have been happy to help. I was fed up with them by then anyway. I'm thinking a Baby Ruth in the "quiet" pool would have been a nice touch that evening. :rolleyes1

:lovestruc those Osborne Lights! I want to go back every year just to see them. And great pictures with Santa Goofy.

Thanks for posting the pictures from the Yacht Club. I think that was one of the only Deluxe resorts we missed so it was nice to see the pictures.

I never get tired of the OL pics! :santa: You can post as many as you wish - just tell them I said so. :rotfl: I'm glad dinner lived up to your expectations. Too bad about the annoying PW kids. I think the Baby Ruth would have been a good idea! :goodvibes

that shade of royal purple will look fabulous with a florida tan! :thumbsup2 perfect for pictures!

Y'all are wearing me out!! After the day in the park I'm not sure I could have been awake enough to eat dinner! According to Nicki's report you weren't too sure either, but perked up when the food came! :goodvibes

Until that food arrived, it was really tough. :rotfl:

The light pictures look great! I just don't know I'll ever be able to see them. I have such horrible eye sensitivity (especially to LED lights) it would probably be one big, painful situation. :worried:
But I always love looking at pictures of them! :goodvibes Your pictures made me feel like I was there, especially under the blanket of them. :lovestruc

Oh, I'm so sorry about the eye sensitivity...that's a shame as I know youw ould love them.

Hope you had a much quieter night than the night before.
smilie_girl_344.gif

It wasn't quieter, but at least after they were told to leave they didn't come back.

Enjoying your posts immensely! Just reading it and looking at the photo's have me right back at WDW. All the smiles on all 6 of your faces show just what a magical trip this was - YAY!

Read you soon - :surfweb:

Hi, there. I'm so glad you are here and enjoying. It truly was the most magical trip.

Yay for getting that cupcake. I got one for the 1st time this past trip. I shared it with Claire and my niece. it was so darn good. I think we got the peanut butter one. It was filling, even sharing it 3 ways. And the girls were really good at eating their share! :rotfl:

I'm not sure why I didn't get a cupcake...probably too much exictement after they let us in after they closed. ;)

I love your tattoe. Did you get it at the palce out front of Rockin Roller coaster? Claire and my niece each got one too. They loved theirs.

Yes, that's where I got the tattoo. Glad the girls enjoyed theirs too.

The osborne lights....ahhhh! Words can't even describe it. It was incredible. Pictures do not do it justice. I NEED to see them again. i got chills when they lit them. It was just awesome. it looks like some really great times that day for you all. How exciting this all must've been for Mark. One day just thinking he would have to keep working and all of a sudden he is in Disney! What an awesome surprise.

Words would never be able to describe it...it's just so beautiful in person. We are hoping to see them again in December. Mark was totally in awe that we planned this and did this for him.

I had a few people recognize me this trip too. It's kind of neat.

It is neat to see some of the people you see post on the DIS.

Love the photos of you with Goofy Santa... I love that they have the different Holiday Outfits for the characters...:goodvibes Goofy Santa is extra good...:thumbsup2

I like the different holiday outfits (and the Halloween costumes too). I thought Goofy looked great.

Yum for Yachtsman... Trying to decide on a special dinner next July...Seriously thinking about Yachtman... Sounds fabulous...:goodvibes

Oh go for it...you will NOT be disappointed.

Osbourne Lights are just amazing...:goodvibes You got some really great photos... It's actually hard to explain how immersed you get in them and quite how many there are... I was in awe... David who has hardly ever been speechless in his 10 years... (at least since he learned to speak...;) was almost speechless... I think he was having an almost out of body experience... he was so totally blown away...

That is so neat that David enjoyed them so much. It is hard to explain...I kept "not" wanting to take pictures and just take it all in.

Lovely update...:cloud9:

Thank you.

My goodness, everything looks so pretty decorated for Christmas. It's been several years since I visited at that time of year... may have to fix that in 2013! :santa:

I think you should definitely fix that for this year. :thumbsup2

So glad you enjoyed the birthday dinner. I have only eaten there once and it was positively delish. Not sure why I haven't been back. :confused3 Too many restaurants too little time!

I can confidently say it was the best dinner we have ever had at Disney...we enjoyed it that much. You need to get back.

Hi, Sophia...glad you made it back (I still have to get over to your PTR).

Chefs was a big surprise for me...I really wasn't expecting to like it...but like it we did, and we'll be back in August.

You and Joe need to go one year and see them (the weather is cooler and I know you like that).

Another great update. I really want a snowball!! We ate at YSH last year and it was fantastic.

The lights at HS were canceled when we were there in Nov a couple of years ago. Your pictures are wonderful!!

I could go for a Snowball right now...even though it is only 11 a.m. I'm glad you enjoyed YSH too.

Why were the lights cancelled? Was it bad weather?

An exciting June !!! Disney and the Wedding!!!!:banana:I am going to Vermont in June I think the 13th, another P&P trip !!!

June is going to be filled and busy, but so much fun. Vermont...interesting choice. What is there to do in Vermont?

Thanks; I want to go back every year too so we can see them; I can't imagine NOT going now that we've gone once.

The Yacht Club was very nicely done.

Thanks. :goodvibes

Dinner was phenomenal!

I like the Baby Ruth idea too and will keep it in mind for future trips.

that shade of royal purple will look fabulous with a florida tan! :thumbsup2 perfect for pictures!

Awwww...you are too sweet.

Love the Osborne lights pictures! Post as many as you want, they never get old. The black-and-white one was especially cool! :thumbsup2

I really want to try Yachtsman sometime. Just never had the budget (or lack of little ones around) to try. Sounds like I need to make it happen sometime.

In case any of you missed it posted yesterday, I am 150 days out from my girls trip with Mary (MaryAZ), Avery and Cayley...purchased the airfare yesterday as I couldn't pass up the price of $213.80 round trip. :thumbsup2 A PTR will be done but not until this puppy is done; I cannot do two reports at the same time again...that was brutal (as it is I'm behind on a few threads).

So back to this TR. It is now Saturday, December 8. Having slept a tad better the night before, I was up at 6:00 a.m. to shower and get dressed. Mark followed after me and we left our room a few minutes before 7. Yes, I only mentioned Mark and me. Andy and Des, being the VERY young people in this group, were too tired to get up and join us for our breakfast ADR and said they'd meet us at the park later that morning. Your loss guys, not ours. And next time suck it up! If we can do it at almost age 55 and 60, you sure as heck can at 26 and 23! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Mark and I walked to El Centro so we could catch a cab. A few pictures on the way. It was still dark and VERY foggy.

We stopped in El Centro as we were both desperately in need of coffee:

Coffee in hand, we went out front and caught a cab. We were headed here:

Day3SaturdayDecember8018.jpg

Can anyone guess where here is?

Does this help?

Or this?

Well, if you haven't figured it out yet, we were at the Poly and we were having breakfast here:

Day3SaturdayDecember8030.jpg

We were there early...our ADR wasn't until 7:30, so we took the time to take a few pictures of the Poly tree and some of the resort:

As you can see in Nicki's dining reviews, we had a wonderful breakfast as always at Kona...this is a keeper for us. And the four of us had FOUR pressed coffee pots. We took what was leftover with us as we hopped on the monorail.

I love this picture of Todd and Nicki (used with Instagram that Des showed us how to use):

We were headed here:

We got through bag check and were on our way inside the Magic Kingdom. I couldn't believe we had been here two days already and still had not been to the Magic Kingdom.

First stop, some photos of the Christmas decorations:

And our first stop after seeing that tree? Well, to see the Main Mouse of course:

One of my favorite shots of the trip:

Photo0102FourBySix.jpg

After visiting with everyone's favorite Mouse, it was back to Main Street. And we decided to stop for some photopass pictures while it was still rather empty. You will see in the pictures just how humid and foggy it was at 9:00 in the morning.

Then the photopass photographer asked if I wanted "wings?" I said, "sure, why not?"

So....what will be our first attraction of the day? Come back later to find out.

I'm so sorry to hear about your DIS friend; we lost one too and I think of her every day.

We are glad to have you back.
Glad to be back Kathy  Her Memorial is tonight :littleangel: so I'll go before heading to work. LOVE the Santa Goofy and Osbourne pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:santa:

A June trip!!! :cool1: I am in the process of tweaking our Summer trip..who knows where it will end up :upsidedow

I am jealous you got to see the MK Christmas tree!!! It wasn't up yet when I was there, they had a huge stage there instead :confused3.

Love all of the PP shots, including the Mickey shot of you gals kissing him! :goodvibes

Congrats of the upcoming trip and on the good flight deal.

The PTR can wait until this one’s done. I also tried to do two at once and that was not a good idea for me either. It would take too long to get the updates together so I also won’t be planning to do that again. The problem now though is without a new DisTrip on the horizon I don’t have one to write at all now. I miss that. We did travel in 2012, but not to Disney. I might have to do a Non-Disney TR just to keep in practice.

Andy and Des, being the VERY young people in this group, were too tired to get up and join us for our breakfast ADR and said they'd meet us at the park later that morning. Your loss guys, not ours.

Youth is wasted on the young. I can out walk, out stand, out wait, out whatever my 17-year-old (especially where Disney is concerned).

We were headed here:

Can anyone guess where here is?

The Polly!

Does this help?

Ummm… still the Polly

Alex… I’ll take “The Polly” for $2000

Well, if you haven't figured it out yet, we were at the Poly

Whoa…

and we were having breakfast here:

:woohoo:
And “there” is far and away the best breakfast On World (IMHO).
Certainly the best coffee.

Those sleepy young’ens chose… poorly.

As you can see in Nicki's dining reviews, we had a wonderful breakfast as always at Kona...this is a keeper for us. And the four of us had FOUR pressed coffee pots. We took what was leftover with us as we hopped on the monorail.

:thumbsup2

I couldn't believe we had been here two days already and still had not been to the Magic Kingdom.

Problem now rectified…

Nice pictures with Mr. Mouse and along Main Street. Y’all have a knack for relaxing and getting into the magic of the Photopass pictures.

I’m always stiff in photos myelf. I’d rather take them then be in them (besides, nearly any scenery is better then my ugly mug :lmao: ).

Great start… Bring on the rest of the Day at the MK!

If I didn't decide to sleep in on Saturday, I probably would have seen Mark sitting there by the fountain on my way in to Rix... :rolleyes1

Is Kona coffee as good as Starbucks??? :confused3 :lmao:

Interested to see what plans are for the MK. We didnt' plan to go there on Saturday, but we might have just ended up there... :rolleyes1

Kona breakfast always sounds so good! We'll get there someday. :)

Some more fantastic PP pics-I love how much fun all the Photographers seem to be having with you guys.

Great magic shots! They tried to to the wings with Maddie last trip, but it didn't turn out. Next trip I think I'll be more vocal about asking to have some taken. I usually feel bad asking, but I really missed getting some fun ones.
