Thanks, Bob. We did have a great time, the food at Yachstman was outstanding (we had a great server too) and the upgrade at the Dolphin was a very nice surprise. If we could get a good discount, we would not hesitate staying there again (well, except for the parking fee!).

We did have a blast. And the weather from what I saw was weird everywhere...but in Florida.

Glad to hear the weather has been fantastic. For us we were pulvorized with storms and an unbelievable amount of rain. Our power went out last night and our sump pump began to overflow. Fortunately I bought a generator last year; it saved our finished basement and property down there. I can't say the same for several of our neighbors. There were several restoration companies and insurance adjusters on our street today cleaning up the mess and assessing the damage.

I am so happy to hear that you were able to prevent flooding in your basement, but so sorry to hear about your neighbors. This weathe rhas been really weird the last several months. We are supposed to have 5 inches of rain beginnig today through Friday.

I hope the weather continues to be nice for you and I certainly hope the business improves from so-so to excellent. Here's to a few more great meals as well.

Business was up and down, unfortunately. The meals were spectacular.

Marv, we had a blast, and it just makes us want to be together all the time. Thankfully, we will see them again in four months and hoping they'll be able to make it for the December trip. Mark and I both came home with a little tan (which will now fade since we have no sunshine here).

Let's see if I can get at least a short update done while my boss is in a meeting.

We left on Saturday, April 6. Andy took us to O'Hare...we left the house around 6:00 a.m. We were through bag check and security in 15 minutes!

Of course, as the guys on here will tell you, our first stop was for one of these beauties:

Our chariot arrived on time and awaited our boarding:



We left right on schedule and were soon soaring to Jacksonville, Florida.

We landed in Jacksonville about 20 minutes early. I really love this airport:







We picked up our rental car, a very nice Chevy Impala, with leather seats and a sunroof!



First stop:



We were starving since Mark only had a small scone from Starbucks and I had nothing.





After filling our bellies and changing into "summer" clothes from our winter clothes in the restroom, we got back in the car and headed here:

I didn’t realize that you still had this TR going. Looking forward to hearing about the J’ville Zoo. We’ve yet to take in that little bit of Florida culture.

I’ll be the one to defend “The Waffle”. It’s not a bad breakfast house if you don’t know of a local joint doin’ a better job. Their grits leave a bit to be desired (but we’re connoisseurs of that particular bit of South’rn tradition in my house). The waffles, flapjacks and omelets, however, are pretty good and the hash browns rock. The coffee there has gotten better over the years but it’s still just so-so. It is however certainly better then the dreck at “Charbucks”. One could float an iron wedge on a caldron of that stuff (and it costs about the same per oz as Kobe-Beef). Reminds me of the retched ooze that my grandparents use to perk for hours on end.
