6 Year Old Trapped in a Balloon. Boy Found Alive - Hiding at Home!

I should also add that I do not believe that in a family where they do not believe in punishing their kids that their six year old would be so scared that he would hide away for FOUR hours and not respond in any way when his family was calling for him.

Another thing that seems a bit odd is that during this "frantic search" in and around the house, the attic of the garage was not searched..

Why? Because the dad told the police not to.. Evidently there is a "pole" that goes up to the attic and dad told the police that the attic was "child proof"..

When Falcon was asked how he got into the attic of the garage, he replied, "I went up the pole.." Hmmmmm... :confused3

When my kid says he's going to vomit, I jump up and run him into the bathroom as fast as I can move. And nobody has to tell me to help him.

That bothered me so much!! He's 6!! I can understand not running after a 16 year old but a 6 year old? That is beyond weird to me. Then he was on the Today show and he threw up on camera:confused3 I don't know but I'd like to think that if my 6 year old started throwing up, I'd cancel the rest of the days interviews or at least have mom take the boy home where he could be comfortable. Add that to the disgusting video on youtube and I don't feel bad for judging them-they put themselves out there.

One other thing stays on my mind. How the heck did he get food up in the attic and drinks and stuff by climbing up the poll on his own? Someone had to bring that stuff up there at one time or other.

First the DAD said not to bother checking up there because it is child proof and the boys cant climb the poll:confused3. Yet the boys have been up there before. I have no doubt that the parents new of this spot.

Not to mention if you were worried about your son missing or worse he could be flying in that balloon....wouldn't you want them to check EVERYWHERE! And worse yet the police listened to the DAD instead of just ruling the area out.

2 seperate trips. A backpack or other bag. Or the kids have a stockpile up there that the parents were not aware of.

Okay. I have seen the home video of the balloon going up. The kid was no where in site. Mom was holding/in charge of a tether rope, Dad was in charge of the other. He let his go thinking Mom had hers tied or under control. And she didn't. And he YELLED at her.

So why would the 6 year old be "scared"???? He nothing to be scared about? He wasn't even near the balloon when it took off. He had no reason to think he was in trouble and that he might be punished for something.

I understand how there were all different stories in the beginning about the boys on the roof with the camera, and running inside because they set the balloon off and all of that. When a situation is happening things get miscommunicated, confused and the news outlets will jump on anything they hear as the gospel truth.

But now that we see this video and see what happened I am calling complete and utter HOAX.

And Fox has the transcript of the 911 call. The dad is saying that there is an electrical current that comes on every 5 minutes on this thing???? From what?

I think he realized when the thing took off and was headed towards the airport (which he said on the 911 call) that he was in deep doo-doo with the FAA and decided to try the sympathy card to keep him out of trouble. He and mom can't even agree on how long it had been since the thing took off. He says just a few mintues and she says 20 minutes (cause he was calling the FAA and the News first).

I also think that he was hoping that by saying the boy was in it the rescuers would come up with a way to catch and bring down the balloon without destroying it so he could get it back. Remember they say it was his prized posession. I think he is crying because they destroyed it!

Boy had no reason to be scared, so there was no reason for him to hide in the attic.

:thumbsup2

I tried to keep an open mind about it up until this point, and think that maybe it was just a genuine accident. Once I saw that home video.. I'm completely sure it was a hoax. There was not one reason for that kid to go and hide in the attic.

The dad just seems like a nutjob to me, and the mom is a little off as well. When you're on national television and your kid runs off screen to throw up.. someone should probably go make sure he's okay! If it was my kid, I'd be right behind him on the way to the bathroom. Then later, they just gave him a pan to throw up in and let him throw up on camera. SERIOUSLY?! That kid is sick for some reason, get him off camera and into bed!

that is my point. The boys new of this place and they walked the police through every nook and cranny of the house and all the hiding places....yet they clearly new of this spot. The boys even said that it is one of the most frequented hiding spots for Falcon....yet they did not think of it not to mention the police questioned about this spot.

The dad said that the boys could not get up there because of the poll....come on....these boys climb trees and things like they are monkeys and jump from the top of things that would make climbing up a poll a given.

I would love to see the wife swap again just to see if the poll is in there and if the boys climbed in and out of that attic via poll or ladder and the parents were witness to it.

I must add that in light of there interviews these folks are like 5 year olds....so there interviews could be making them look fishy because of this....they are not the smartest fish in the pond. Don't even think that he is a legitimate scientist...with a degree that is.

It may have happened as the family says it did.....but under the circumstances......it is yet to be seen if that is the facts.

Since I saw the home video this morning I have decided the Dad used Falcon as an excuse to try to get himself out of trouble with the FAA.

The guy is wacky but I don't think he's really that stupid. I think he knew he was in trouble and tried to get himself out of it.

OR

Maybe Falcon untied the tether rope, saw the balloon float away and Dad ge so angry and that is why he hid. Then older brother told his parents he was in the balloon earlier (although I don't understand where "in" could be) and then when they couldn't find him they thought maybe he was still in it. In the chaos that happened at the take off of the balloon certainly Falcon could have been missed or snuck off.

I am leaning towards number 1 though.

This "story" stinks to high heaven. Let's face it...we all got punked. Balloon Dad is very creepy and I totally believe that this was all premeditated. On a side note, I saw on the Today show this morning, Merideth asked him about the youtube video and he said he lets all three boys cuss. They can only do it inside, and not outside of the house. His reasoning was he didn't want to be a hypocrite because he cusses. I was very disappointed to hear the Sheriff say there is no evidence this was a hoax.

The story stinks indeed, but seen the kids behavior , Falcon could have done in just as a prank, the have no respect their parents or anyone.

:confused3 The sherriff and other responders spoke with the parents and Falcon independantly. They evaluated the situation and will follow up.

I hope it wasn't a hoax. I'd hate to think someone did this intentionally.

about the poll again....I want to add...Did the dad build the poll so he could climb up into that small attic area? Seems to me that it was built for the boys....unless DAD is into climbing up polls when a ladder could work.:rotfl2: Was that what he meant by it is child proof? that he built the poll instead of a ladder because the boys cant climb a poll.....:lmao:

And why would they child proof anything? this is a family that feels that there kids are allowed to do anything...like jumping down from high trees instead of climbing down.....but gee....they must not be allowed to get into that small attic space full of toys and food.....so lets put a poll there instead....that should keep them out....

That just sounds so stupid. A child proof poll to keep them out of a non dangerous area:rotfl: and just off the chance it is a dangerous area...who the heck would think to build a poll there...dont build anything. Just use a ladder when needed.

Falcon could have done in just as a prank, the have no respect their parents or anyone.

This sounds probable and makes sense as to why Falcon wouldn't come out. What 6 year old could have imagined the consequences of his "little" prank.

When the Daddy has no respect for women what can we expect from the kids :(

Exactly, a normal 6 year old, but those kids have no manners, no respect for people, they do whatever the want :sad2:
