For Monday lunch we toured the world showcase booths. That was a must do for me so I was excited to try all of the booths!
My first stop was the South African booth Seared Filet of Beef with Smashed Sweet Potatoes and Braai Sauce.

This was so good. The Braai sauce was a spicy curry sauce almost and it actually tasted good with the sweet potatoes! I really liked the sweet potatoes too! The filet was a little overcooked and I am not sure about it being a filet but it was still good!
....
Photobucket crapped out on me! I think their server is down so I will finish this when it goes back up!
Its back up!
Then from Hawaii I had the Kahlua Pork slider with Pineapples on top.

I didn't like this. the bread was too hard and too thick for the pork. The pork was too dry. I did like the spicy may on top though!
Then I had the pumpkin mousse with orange sauce from the Hops and Barley booth.

The pumpkin mousse was very good but I didn't like the orange sauce. I don't think orange and pumpkin goes well together. If I could just have a bowl of the pumpkin mousse with the craisins on top I would be good to go!
I also got the lobster claw cuddler.

This wasn't great. Thank god I used a snack credit for it because it was like $5.50. There wasn't that much meat in the lobster claw and it was very watery from cooking it which made the dipping sauce runny.
Emily got the grilled lamb chop with mint pesto and potato chips from Australia.

This was actually pretty good with the exception of the fat. The meat was really good but the mint pesto was a little weird.
Next up was the crispy shrimp taco from Mexico. This was not good! The shrimp were so crispy that they were hard and chewy. There was also way too much radish on the taco.

I got the caramel flan from Mexico.

This was good but very very sweet and very thick. It was a little too rich but had good caramel flavor!
Next up I had the spicy hand roll from Japan. This was really good and I was surprised at how big it was! This was definitely filling. I wish the rice layer was a little thinner though because I like to taste the spicy tuna more, not the rice.

We stopped for a drink in France and Emily got the chocolate crepe. She was kind of disappointed because she has been to the real France and loved the crepes there. She said they normally use nutella but there they just put chocolate syrup on it.

Corey also bought us ladies grey goose slushies! He bought himself one too. This may sound weird to you guys but it is the first alcoholic drink he has ever bought for himself! He doesn't drink and the only couple of times he drank was at our parties in college where it was free. He loves the grey goose slushie so if you are afraid to drink, try these, they are yummy!

We also got the chocolate creme brulee from France. This is probably my favorite dessert in the Food and Wine Festival. It is so light and has a light chocolatey flavor and it is delicious!

We went to the desserts booth and Corey got the frozen nesquick drink. He loved this! It was definitely light and airy.

I got the dessert trio. First up is the chocolate mousse with a hint of spicy.

Absolutely delicious! the spice was so mild; you only felt it in the back of your throat every so light! The mousse was light and cold! The spicy was actually on the bottom; it was soaked up in that cake stuff on the bottom.
The others were the lemon with the berries and the panna cotta with fruit.

I loved both of these as well. The lemon was a very tart lemon that paired nicely with the sweet blueberries! Yum I want one of those right now!

That is it for my food and wine! There wasn't as much wine as I wanted to try but that is okay! It was too hot and I didn't feel like drinking. I wanted to try the grapefruit beer but they were all it. It sucked because at the end of the festival they were out of a lot of drinks, maybe they just didn't want to re order them when it was the end but that isn't right.
