6 hr layover at LAX...now an 11 hr layover. DL here I come!

I was actually able to push back the connecting flight by 5 hours without penalty, creating a layover of 11.5 hours! DH was even supportive.

I'm so happy for you. It'll be just what you need.

As I suggested before, I would still rent a car rather than go with DL Express or Supershuttle. You'll be in control of the timing of your trip, and I'll bet it would cost no more than the shuttle.

Have fun!

no more cost and in charge of timing? Gas (and the time to get the gas, unless she prepays which is more $), parking which is now...12? 14? and the time involved in getting into the structure, getting to the spot, getting to the tram (we always seem to be parked as far as we possibly can be from the escalator), getting from the tram to bag check, and back of course, the time involved in turning in the car and getting the shuttle to/from airport...plus the cost of the car... Not to mention shuttles being able to use HOV lanes...

No one Answered but Yes they have these posts with plug in's where you can use your lap top at LAX!!

So sorry to hear about your Grandmother. Here is a little

Can't believe I forgot to reply to that too. The plug-ins are for charging; you can connect to the wifi for free just sitting in your seat. That was our experience at least.

Also wanted to add...it was when we had a rental car that we almost missed our flight, and that was WITH access to high occupancy lanes. We just did not take into account the time needed...time to get to highway, time to find gasoline, time to fill up, time to realize we're on the wrong side of the pump and need to turn the car around, time to get to the rental company, time to get stuff out of car, time to get onto shuttle, etc etc etc. I'm good with time for airport shuttles...but the time management was horrible with the rental car!

Mission accomplished! I had close to 5 glorious hours in the park today. The trip report is going to have to wait, as I won't get home until after midnight & I'm hoping the pictures I took with my phone are good enough to post.

LAX is freezing cold tonight & could really use more restrooms, IMHO. Oh well. I'm just happy I got back here in plenty of time to catch my flight.

Thank you guys for talking me out of the 6 hr attempt...it wouldn't have worked so well!

I'm so glad you had a good time today. Sorry about your Grandmother's passing.

That's great!! I read this thread knowing how tempting it would be (I would probably have done it too!) and felt bad that you just wouldn't have a lot of time. You still won't have as much time but you will definitely have enough to go! I'm excited for you and I know you will have a great time! :goodvibes

Oops, I forgot to read the next page. I hope you had a great time. :goodvibes

I'm glad you were able to swing this, I hope you had a magical time!
