and the baby is well on her way!!!! ARGH!!!!

Any good suggestions on something to give a 22 month old to keep our germs away from her (since putting her in a bubble isn't an option right now!)

Buy Airborne (they're tablets you dissolve in H2O-orange or lime flavored)-I'm pretty sure they have a kid's version. I love them!! Throughout this past year, I took these whenever I started coming down with something, and they really helped reduce how sick I was (and sometimes whatever I felt like I was getting went away). If they don't have the children's version, cut the tablets in half-they're just a mix of vitamins/herbs. :confused3 Hope it helps!! :sunny:

I *LOVE* Zicam. It is a natural product and has NO interactions with any prescription drugs. You can use it NOW before she is showing symptoms of the cold. It helps your body fight the germies naturally. I use it on mysel & dd3 (the childs version) and it works like a dream...we haven't been really sick in over a year!!! I typically use the "nasal swabs" which are like q-tips for the nose...it is supposed to be the most effective way to use it. My dd3 doesn't mind the nasal swabs...you don't insert them all the way in the nose, just rub them right inside on the outer sides of the nose.

They work!!...my sil's have started using them on all of their children as well. Unfortunately :( , looking back at your original post again, I realize that your dd is only 22mths...they have to be 3yrs old to use them. Just thought I would post it anyway for your future knowledge.

Sorry, I hope you all feel better. If this helps, you should always be able to calculate colds with a 5 day incubation period. This is why moms are always sick when everyone else is better!!!

WASH HANDS WASH HANDS WASH HANDS

Sorry you'rehaving such rotten luck. talk about bad timing! Hope everyone recovers real soon.

up her vit c intake through extra juice or supplements.
Try Sambucold for kids - it is black elderberry juice with echinacea for kids. Very pleasant tasting and great for fending off viruses.
Visit a health food store and see what the have for liquid herbal immunity support for kids. MOst taste pretty ok and help quite a bit.
Also what kind of sickness? Stomach? Respiratory? Ear problems?

Me too! We leave on Saturday and I started getting a sore throat on Saturday, told myself i just hurt my neck doing sit ups. Now I have a runny nose and full blown sore throat. Started taking Zinc drops today. I just pray my boys don't get it, it always ends in an ear infection. It is cold and rainy here, maybe Disney will make it all better!

Pixie dust your way. My kids got sick a month before the trip and my daughter had back to back ear infections so I was worried about what if it came back while we were there. None of that happened and we had a lovely trip...here's wishing the same for you

Our family went to the Star Wars convention in Indy just over a week ago (35,000 people herded together!). The day after we got back, DS9 started getting a cold, then DH came down with a respiratory virus, then I got it and now DH and I both have secondary bacterial infections, too (started anti-biotics 2 days ago)...and we leave for WDW in 2 weeks! Surely, we'll be better by then!!!

BTW, I used Zicam regularly---but it only works on the common cold virus, not other viruses. I've had good luck with it in the past, but this bug was too strong.
