Goofy's Candy Co. Post 17-Lots of pictures

Cast of Characters: DH: 49 Loves food. All food. Will try anything.
Me: 44 I'm not as adventurous as DH.
DD: 17 Loves sweets, pasta the basics.
DS: 14 Loves meat, mashed potatoes, sweets. Eats a ton and skinny as a rail--not fair.
DD: 8 (Turned 9 when we got home) Was so excited about the trip that she hardly ate anything the entire week. Said she had a stomach ache whenever we ate. Drove me nuts. At home she is a big eater. In fact they all are except DD17.

Day 1: Monday
We ate lunch in Sunshine Season Food Fair after getting off Soarin for the second time.
DH: Grilled Salmon with great mashed potatoes. He had a powerade to drink and the Soarin Brulee for desert. He really liked everything. I loved his potatoes.

Me and DD17: Shared the Two Entree Items and Two Sides at the Asian station. One was sweet and sour chicken and one was beef and veges. It was good. Enough for two to share. We got a large lemonade to drink and had the butterfinger cheesecake for desert. It was a good cheesecake but not a very strong butterfinger flavor.

DS14: He also had the Two Entree Items and Two Sides. He ate it all so I guess he enjoyed it. He had a Lemonade too and the Soarin Brulee. He really liked the Brulee.

DD8: She had the Chicken Leg with Mashed Potatoes and drink milk I think. This was the most she ate all week. She didn't finish it, but she liked what she ate.

Sorry no pictures. Just trying to get everybody at the same table was a challenge. I can't imagine being there when it is during the busy time of the year. The park was not crowded at all.

We Liked Sunshine Seasons and would return later in the week. Just wish they had more lines to check out.

First table service meal was at Biergarten. We were here about 12 years ago and really liked it. My husband being of German descent wanted to go for the kids. More like for the bratwurst. We waited about 10-15 minutes to be seated.

This place was a lot of fun. The entertainment was great. We enjoyed the food. I especially liked the soup. DD14 loved everything.
If figure out how to add pictures I'll add some.

We love Sunshine Seasons and tried the Asian entree for the first time on our last trip and it was not good, must have caught them on a bad day. Looking forward to the rest of your reviews!!!!:cool1:

We want to try Sunshine Seasons in a few weeks. Silly question but when you said 2 entrees and 2 sides I know you got the chicken and beef, but what were the sides? Are there different choices or is it rice and lo mein?

Great start, looking forward to reading about Le Cellier. :)

Tuesday was Magic Kingdom day.

For Lunch we went to Pecos Bill's.
DH & DS14 had the Bacon Double Cheeseburger basket with fries. They loved the fixens bar. I think my husband took everything. He really like it. They both had the carrot cake for dessert.

DD17 got the Bacon Double Cheeseburger with apples and yogurt for dessert. She didn't finish the burger it was too big. The apples we took with us and ate later. They were nice and crisp.

DD8 & I shared a Chicken wrap and apples and had the carrot cake for dessert. The wrap was really good. It was large and plenty to share. We saved the cake for later. The carrot cake wasn't bad for a non homemade.
pecosbilllunch.jpg

For drinks we got a chocolate milk, 22 oz. lemonade, Lg Bottled Water and a Low Fat Milk. My husband got the water so he would have a bottle to carry around. DS14 hates pop so you won't see much of that on this trip.

Overall we liked this place and would recommend it. We ate upstairs and had the place to ourselves. So don't just stay downstairs. We heard the music to the pirates ride. (Which later we rode 5 times in a row--no line.)

We had our first snacks today. We had 2 premium mickey bars while waiting for DDs to ride dumbo. They were really good. Don't look at the caleries if you really want to enjoy it.

Later in the day we shared a couple of Dole Pineapple floats. Everyone absolutely loved these.:cool1: They were a must do the last day.

Dinner was at Chef Mickey's.
Rode the monorail over to the Contemporary. That was fun. Our ADR was for 5:10 and we got in shortly after. I thought they took pictures of you before and tried to sell them to you, but no pictures were taken of us.

Our server was an older lady Rebecca and she was really good. We ordered milk to drink and she brought two for everybody, chocolate and white. She said milk drinkers always need two glasses.

Once again my DD8 was not wanting to eat. Glad I wasn't paying the adult price for her. She was just excited to get signitures of the characters. She got Minnie, Mickey, Donald Duck, Goofy and Pluto.

The food was ok but I wouldn't go there unless I had a child that wanted autographs of the main people. There are better places to eat.
We really liked the Butternut Squash soup. It was wonderful! I asked the waitress for the receipe. She took my email and gave it to the chef, but I haven't heard anything yet.
The parmesan mashed potatoes were heavenly. The carrots were also very good. The prime rib was over cooked, so it was a little dry. DH had some salmon. He said it was ok but that it was better at the Sunshine Season Food Fair.

There was a banana bread pudding I think it was for dessert that was pretty good. Frankly the desserts didn't tempt me too much.
Below is a picture of DS14 with his desserts. Yuk! Too much sweets. By the last day he was taking his dessert to go.

They gave you rice and noodles. I think there was a vegetable side too. But I just didn't pay attention as my DD pick out what she wanted and I went along. I wish I took a picture but I just didn't think about it.

Wednesday we were at Disney MGM.

For Lunch we ate at Backlot Express.
I was worried after what I had read on these posts, but it wasn't bad.

I had the Grilled Turkey & Cheese with arugula and red peppers. It came with a choice of fries or carrot sticks but I asked if I could have grapes instead and they gave them to me. I had a milk to drink with it. For desert I had the cheesecake. The sandwich was really very good. The grapes were crisp and cold. The cheesecake was ok. I didn't finish it. The Strawberry parfait was better.

DH & DS14 had the Double Cheeseburger - with French fries. They like it but liked the fixins bar at Pecos Bills much better. DH got bottled water for his drink and for dessert the Frozen Blue Rasberry Cooler. DS got lemonade for his drink and the Strawberry Parfait for dessert. He ate everything.

DD17 had the Chicken Strips served with French fries, chocolate milk and the sugar free strawberry parfait. She said the chicken was tender and she really liked the parfait. I tasted it and it was good.

DD8 had Chicken Nuggets with grapes and applesauce. She had a juice box and then chocolate pudding for dessert. What she ate she liked.

Sorry no pictures. I just didn't think about it. But I'm glad others remembered. Maybe next time.

We didn't have a sit down this day because I didn't want to use it at MGM or take the time to leave because I wanted to see Fantasmic. Frankly we weren't that hungry so it worked really well to have a break in the week.

I made two consecutive reservations at All-Star Music. The first for Monday to Saturday. Then one for just one night Saturday. I didn't want to pay for the food plan 6 nights as we were leaving Sunday morning and I knew we wouldn't need any more food. This worked out great for us.

We did get more snacks this day. We all got an ice cream treat. I had the fruit bar which was really refreshing. DD8 got the curly treat. One got the nesle crunch the other two got the premium micky bars.

While we were waiting for Fantasmic to start we go a frozen strawberry slush, nachos and pretzel. I didn't like the nachos. Too salty. I wouldn't waste a snack credit on it again. The pretzel was good and the slush was ok. It did the job and filled us up.

Another day in Epcot.
Lunch: Sunshine Season Food Fair

This is so handy to step off of Soarin and eat. Plus we like the variety.

DH: He tried the 2 Entree 2 Sides in the Asian part. He had a chicken and vegetable and a beef entree with 2 noodle sides. He liked the chicken one by far. He had a Powerade for a drink and the Friut Tulip for dessert which was really good.

DS14: Had the Black Forest Ham and Salami Grinder. It looked really good. My husband tasted it and really liked it. He had a powerade to drink and a Chocolate Mousse cake for dessert. He really enjoyed that.

DD17: She had the Turkey and Muenster Cheese on Foccacia with Chipotle Mayonnaise. She thought the mayonnaise was a bit to spicy for her. She didn't finish it. DH liked it but liked the ham sandwich better. She had a chocolate milk and for dessert the Strawberry Shortcake which she loved.

DD8 & I: We shared the Rotisseri Chicken with mashed potatoes. It was huge and really good. More than we could eat. Had chocolate milk to eat also. For dessert we had the Key Lime Pie which was the best of the desserts. Yum.

We shared a Frozen Lemonade while waiting in line for the early Candlelight Processional. It was a good snack.

Dinner: Le Cellier

We had 7:10 ADRs but we waited at least 40 minutes to get in. Beyond that it was a wonderful experience.

Our server was Jason and he was great. Since there was 5 of us we had a bigger table by a piller and weren't close to anyone. We loved the atmosphere, but were surprised with how small the restaurant is. I guess that is part of why it is so hard to get into.

On to the food, which was absolutely the best meal of the week. We all loved it.

DH: The drink he picked was the Sour Apple Frizz. It was really good. It was my 2nd favorite. The appitizer was Duck Confit - with crispy prosciutto ham and pomegranate molasses. This was his best appitizer of the week. He had the 14 oz. New York Strip Steak - with balsamic red onions, watercress, and roasted Yukon gold potatoes, and finished with veal demi glace cooked med. rare. It was the best steak he has had in a long time. He absolutely loved it. He couldn't finish all the veges. He did finish the steak and my sons. He said next time we go, we are to eat there three times! He had the chocolate moose to go for dessert. It was the only dessert you could get to go. He never did have it. I had a bite. It was nice. Not my favorite.

DS14: He also had the Sour Apple Freeze and loved it. He had the Beef Barley Soup for his appitizer and really loved it. I had a bite and I agree, it was outstanding. I liked it better than the cheddar cheese. Oh, the bread, was great. We liked the pretzel and the multi grain the best. We even had then bring 2nds.
He also had the 14 oz. New York Strip med rare and loved it.
He had the smores for dessert and really liked it although he was really full. He had to have dessert.

DD17: She had the raspberry shake. It had whip cream and a cherry on top. This was my least favorite drink. It was ok. Whe had the Cheese soup and a lot of bread. Her entree was Sauteed Shrimp and Bay Scallops - served with a rich lobster cream sauce, linguini and spinach finished with lobster oil. She really loved this. DH thought it was really good also. She had the chocolate moose to go also.

DD8: She also had the Sour Apple Frizz drink. She picked the cheddar soup for her appitizer. She liked it, but again she didn't finish anything, which is so not like her. For her entree she picked the steak which was very good. For dessert she took the fruit cup to go. It was good. She had it for breakfast the next day. We had a cooler in the room.

Me: I had the Niagara Refresher to drink. If I remember correctly it was a mango, cranberry drink. It was the best of the three we tried. It was awesome. I had the Beefsteak Tomato Stack - with caramelized onions, marinated mozzarella and yuzu vinaigrette for my appitizer. It was really good. I expected the mozzarella to be between the tomatoes but it was just little pieces on the side. The flavors were so good together. My DH like it too. My entree was the 7 oz. Filet Mignon - glazed with maple barbecue sauce and accompanied by cream cheese mashed potatoes. Oh my, I thought I had died and gone to heaven. It was so very good. I am getting hungry just thinking about it. It was the very best steak I have ever eaten. The maple barbecue sauce went perfect with it and the potatoes. Wow. I would order it again in a minute. I have to say I ate it all and would have licked the plate if I wasn't in public.
I got the Apple Crumble with vanilla ice cream and shared it with the family. It was really good.

Needless to say. We were very stuffed after this meal. We were glad we didn't eat much the day before. Everyone agreed that this was the best meal hands down. We highly recommend it to everyone.

Oh my goodness, say it's not true - has the duck two ways appetiser been taken off the menu at Le Cellier? That is one of the main reasons we are going back next trip as I loved this dish :confused3

It is the duck confit. I don't know how it differs the the duck two ways, but my husband absolutely loved it. So hopefully you will like this too.

Counter Service:

Day 1: Monday
We ate lunch in Sunshine Season Food Fair after getting off Soarin for the second time.
DH: Grilled Salmon with great mashed potatoes. He had a powerade to drink and the Soarin Brulee for desert. He really liked everything. I loved his potatoes.

We Liked Sunshine Seasons and would return later in the week. Just wish they had more lines to check out.

We love the Sunshine Seasons ! The portions are definitely big enough for us to share, except for my 19 year old boys - they eat a full meal plus clean up everyone else's plates, lol ! We love the variety and the quality of food. However, I do agree about the number of cashier stands - lines tend to back up !

Today was Animal Kingdom Day.

Counter Service: Yak and Yeti

I'm having a hard time remembering exactly what we ate here. The receipt doesn't list what we ate like the other places. This is right next to the the table service restaurant. The food was good and the portions are big enough for two.

DH: Shrimp Lo Mien. He had a frozen lemonade for his dessert. He really liked this meal a lot. This was his favorite counter service meal of the week.

Me & DD8: We had a Sweet and Sour Chicken over rice. The chicken was tender and the sauce was good. Not too sweet. We had a fruit punch to drink and a mango pie for dessert. The pie was really good. We saved it and ate it later.

DS14: He had sweet and sour pork. Frozen lemonade for dessert. He liked it and ate it up.

DD17: She probably had the shrimp too. I don't remember and she isn't home.

We all enjoyed this meal. The tables are outside around the corner. Some of the tables have umbrellas. So if it is hot you want an umbrella.

This is our lunch.
yakyeticounterlunch.jpg

We thought the containers added to the charm of the place.

Dinner: Boma

We all really enjoyed this meal. The food was great and the variety was fun. They had a butternut soup which was very good. If you like nutmeg, this is the restaurant for you. I have never tasted nutmeg in so many things. I wouldn't have thought of putting it in some of the things, but we really liked it.

The FuFu sweetpotatoes were really good. The prime rib was excellent. The different toppings for it were interesting also. I really enjoyed the different hummus'. The red one, I think it was the dried tomatoe, was my favorite. They had three different ones.

The salmon wasn't as good here as the Sunshine Seasons Food Fair.
The desserts were just ok. There was one a round thing with a strawberry on top that my son at about 10 of that he really liked. I don't know if it was a tart or a custard. Oh well. He liked whatever it was. Oh, the pineapple cheescakes were really good too.

I realized that I should have taken notes because I just don't remember it so well now.

We enjoyed this restaurant. It wasn't our favorite. But we would consider coming again.

We went to Downtown Disney after dinner so we could get the bus back to our hotel. So we went to Goofy's Candy Company to spend some snack credits.

goofyscandyco.jpg

The sign is made out of jelly beans we thought that was fun.

We each did a make your own treat.
DS14: Mickey Krispy Rice Treat dipped in Milk Chocolate topped with Rainbow Sprinkles, Crushed Oreos, M&Ms, Butterfingers, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and drizzled with Milk Chocolate and Caramel. It weighed a ton when it was done.

DD8: Mickey Krispy Rice Treat, dipped in Milk Chocolate and topped with: Rainbow sprinkles, M&Ms Drizzled with Caramel.

DD17: Mickey Krispy Rice Treat dipped in Milk Chocolate topped with crushed Oreos, Butterfingers, Reese's peanut butter cups and drizzed with Milk Chocolate.

DH: 3 Pretzel Rods 2 dipped in Milk Chocolate and 1 dipped in Dark Chocolate. One Topped with Oreos, 2 with Butterfingers and drizzled with caramel.

ME: Gingerbread Mickey Cookie: Dipped in Milk Chocolate. Topped with: Chopped peanuts, Reese's Peanut Butter Cup and Drizzled with Milk Chocolate, White Chocolate and Caramel. It too weighed a ton. But oh, so good.

We all ended up bringing them home. They lasted a long time. They were so rich you couldn't eat very much at a time. I loved how they boxed them up and put the form you filled out on them.

This was a lot of fun and we wanted to come back the next day and do it again but my husband had no more energy left so we didn't. I highly recommend doing it.

Last Day.

Counter Service: Sunshine Season Food Fair.

DH, DS, DD17: They all had the 2 Entree 2 Side Asian, I wasn't there so I don't know what. Someone had a Key Lime Pie, Strawbery shortcake, and the Butterfinger Cheesecake. 2 Powerades and a soda. They said they liked it.

They park hopped to 3 parks this day. DD8 and I stayed at Magic Kingdom. This was the most crowded day of all. I think in the future I would avoid the parks on a Saturday.

Music Intermission Food Court. Last counter service credit.

We got there at 11:30pm. they didn't have much left. So we got the chicken ceasar salad with dressing on the side. We ate this for breakfast Sunday. We got grapes and Chocolate milk to go with it. It was ok. Like I said they were out of most everything at that hour.

Snacks:

Pretzel

3 Dole Pineapple Floats. What can I say we love them.

At the Main Street Bakery in MK DD8 and I shared a Cookie ice cream sandwich. It was huge. 2 big chocolate chip cookies with 2 large scoops of ice cream in the center. Yum.

At Auntie Gravity's DD8 and I shared a Strawberry Banana Smoothie. It was really good.

Our last snack was a box of donuts bought at Maestro Mickey's the gift shop at All-Star Music. This was for breakfast the next day.

Table Service: Whispering Canyon Cafe

This place was loud but fun. We were tired and since it was the end of the week not as hungry as we could have been. Our server Slippery recommended that only one person get the Canyon Skillet because we could all share and everyone else get something different.

DH: The Canyon skillet, All you can eat Chocolate Shake, Chocolate moose Stampede. He drank 3 shakes, and ate the skillet.
IMG_1419.jpg

DS14: Cheese and Sausage Appitizer he really liked this.
St. Louis-style Ribs - cowboy beans, mashed potatoes, and seasonal vegetables; Half Rack $19.99 He couldn't finish this shock of the year. We saved it and he ate it for dinner Sunday on the way home. He had the Apple Caramel Pie to go. This was really, really good. Raspberry Smoothie. This was good.

DD17: Valley Greens Salad Appitizer, Western Chicken Pasta - with fresh vegetables tossed with Roasted Garlic Chipotle Cream Sauce $17.99 She didn't eat much of this. Not hungry. We took it and ate it Sunday. It was good. Apple Caramel Pie to go. Yum, Yum. Strawberry Shake. This was good but I liked the Chocolate shake better.
IMG_1417.jpg

DD8: Strawberry Orange Smoothie. Very good. Watermelon for appitizer, good. Kid burger with fries. Apples for dessert. We took most of this with us because she still wasn't eating.
She did ask for ketchup and thought it was funny we got the table covered with ketchup bottles. We were glad when someone else asked for ketchup.
IMG_1423.jpg

Me: Strawberry Orange Smoothie, yum. Western Chips and Dip - Homemade Corn Torilla Chips with a bowl of freshly made salsa and queso dip $7.99 For my appitizer. It was good. Everyone had some.
10 ounce Smoked Prime Rib - with mashed potatoes and season vegetables $20.99
I really liked the prime rib. It was very good.
S'more Cheesecake - New York style cheesecake on a graham cracker crust topped with chocolate ganache and marshmallows. Had this to go. It was very good.

This was a pretty good meal. We had almost enough left overs for dinner the next night.

The dinning plan was fun to use. We felt we got out moneys worth. I liked having the tip included. That would really make me think twice before doing it again. I would also rather have appitizers than dessert. We found that we could share a lot of the counter service meals and been fine. So we don't know if we would do the DDP as it is now. It was convenient not to carry any money and you would have to under the new plan.
We had a great time on this trip and are glad we went when we did. I hope this helped someone.
