6/6 at HRH club

Left Holiday Inn Airport at 7:30 a.m. Arrived at HRH about 8:00.

Checked in. Was told AAA gets no welcome gift, no use of health club, no kid welcome gift, no sampler CD. Oh well.....Kids were disappointed. Desk clerk suggested I upgrade to rack rate for $75+/night to get these. NO WAY!

While I checked in Niece went to concierge to buy 2 one day tickets for Islands. Concierge said to go back to desk and ask to have 2 extra room keys printed so she and her BF could also have FOTL.

Went to Club level to get water and have a bite of breakfast. Back to front desk - asked again about amenities and told NO. Did find a desk clerk to print FOTL for 1 day for niece and boyfriend. No questions asked. That was very nice!

Left for Islands about 9:00. DD, DH, and DNBF went immediately to Hulk - no wait. Then all to Spiderman - no wait. Doom for DD, DH and DNBF also with no wait. After these did the water rides - again no wait time. DH chose not to get wet so he held all the stuff. I still had purse as I didn't want to leave it with bell hops.

Lots of adults on Pteranadon flyers, but when we asked were told no adults after the line reached 30 min.

Did Fire and Ice, then went to Nascar for lunch. No problems with DN and DNBF using a cert and my family of 4 using 2 Certs. Nacho's were AWESOME. Everyone else had a variation on burgers and shakes which were very good.

After lunch repeated several rides. Hulk had closed but reopened shortly before we left park for day at about 3:45.

3:55 got the call that our room was ready. Back to HRH, had luggage delivered, went to lounge for snacks - Pasta salad, italian meat salad, rolls, vegs & dip, 3 cheeses. DH and DNBF each had a beer. Later DH had the 'pink' wine. Said it was very good - was a Beringer.

DN and DNBF left for home (Lakeland) about 6. We went to Pastamore to get carry out - using GC.

Large pepperoni Pizza, 1 lg shake, 1 lg ice cream cone, 1 sm ice cream cone, 1 caramel Latte, 1 cheesecake, 1 lemon square, 1 italian cake, 2 heath bar cookies and 1 peanut butter cookie - and our total was 54 cents above the $50.

Oh, our room had the white Duvet, not the green. Carpet was SOAKED in our room as they likely had shampooed it. The cleaner stench was awful.

On to Universal tomorrow.....

Sounds like you got a lot of "Nos". They had the room ready a whole 5 minutes early? Don't you get health club access from Loews 1st and not the rate you pay? It gets better doesn't it?

Wow! Seems like HRH, is getting stingy with perks. Hope you still enjoyed yourself!

I thought you still got the perks with AAA discounts. That is supposedly the only discounted rate you can still get the perks with. And the fitness center is supposed to be available to all Loews First members regardless of what rate you paid for your room. I would have been very unhappy to have wet, smelly carpet in my room. Did you complain?

I thought that all Loews first members got access to the fitness room and I thought that everybody got a free CD at check-in, regardless of whether or not you were a Loews first member. Do you think that maybe you got a check-in person who was new or maybe just in a bad mood? Something just doesn't sound right. I'm glad you had a good time, though.
