5th person in the room

Ok..so here is my dilemma...we are trying to go next year. I know that most of the value resorts only sleep 4 (except for the new suites in AS Music) and was wondering if they will allow a 5th person at all. I am sure this is very taboo...but when I was younger we always had an extra person in the room and it never seemed to be a problem....anyone have any insight????

It is not allowed. The extra person will be be able to participate in extra magic hours. Everyone receives a room key with their name, the extra person would not receive one.

How old is the 5th person?

There are a few other resorts that have rooms that sleep 5, like POR and FW, and most deulxe resorts do, according to mousesavers.com:

"Standard rooms at the Deluxe resorts vary in size from as small as 344 square feet at Animal Kingdom Lodge and Wilderness Lodge to as large as 440 square feet at Grand Floridian. Standard rooms at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Wilderness Lodge and Boardwalk Inn sleep up to 4 (plus one baby under age 3 in a crib) on two Queen beds. Rooms with a Queen and a bunk bed are also available at the two lodges. Most standard rooms at the other Deluxe resorts sleep up to 5 (plus one baby under age 3 in a crib) on two Queen beds and a day bed. All Deluxe resorts except the Polynesian have some standard rooms with King beds."

There are laws against allowing more people in a room than are stated in the occupancy regulations. Unless the 5th person is under age 3, you will have to do what thousands of other families of 5 do, and get a room at POR, FW Cabins, or a deluxe. If someone finds out you are sneaking an extra person in, you will probably be given the option of moving to a resort where 5 in a room is permitted, or asked to leave, depending on the circumstances.

This is a heated topic here, not sure if you are a newbie, but many have strong feelings about people who inquire about breaking the law.

The people in our trip will be myself, my husband, our 7 year old daughter, 4 year old son and my father....

I get the whole safety thing...and I understand the room key thing having just gotten back from disney with a dining package plan....it's just so expensive...

Honestly, when we were kids my parents always let my sister bring a friend, which took us to 6 at the polynesian...I never remember it ever being a problem. But they probably just didnt' care....

I will probably book the Port Orleans Riverside. Another question though...when I was younger my aunt and uncle stayed at POFQ and we visited them and they have the really cool dragon pool (which my daughter loves) are the two resorts close to each other??? So if we were staying at POR could we walk to POFQ?
