5K Run in 01/2007

Can anyone tell me about the 5K run that is held in Jan. ? We are thinking about going and would like some more info. THANKS

This is a Family Fun Run 5k, probably as a result of all the half/marathoners bringing their families. They do not give awards. Two years ago DS was doing half so DD did 5k. She ran at her normal speed (she is a 5k competitor), and after was like "why did I do that?" The entire family did it this year together, and it was fun. Everyone gets a tshirt and a medal for finishing. This year it is moved to it's own day at MGM which should be much better. Last year the half ran alittle over and the 5k so much bigger than year before that it started late. So late we ran in EPCOT with the guests (wasn't the case the year before). So I'm glad they are moving to another day and early, I wanted the park to ourselves and it was a bummer. So Run for Fun because it's not organized as a competitive race.

They have loaded the course map on Disney's Wide World of Sports site. Price, date, times are there too

Sorry I can't be of more help since I haven't done the 5K yet but the new course at MGM sounds very kewl!!!

Good luck if you decide to do it!!!! I think a few on the WISH Events boards (sub board of the Disboards WISH board) have done it and you probably can find a thread about 2006's 5K. I think a couple of us asked questions earlier in the year.
