5k family run in Jan 2010

My kids are running in the 5k in Jan and I have a few questions. Has anyone ever gone to the 5k as just a spectator? Is that even possible or feasable? I understand that I can't get into Epcot since it isn't open that early. Can I see anything from the parking lot?

The 5K in 2010 is in Epcot, the same place as the Minnie and Princess 5K, so I am basing my information on these races.

Yes there was a few people watching, espceially at the end, its great finishing a race and having people cheer you through.

My DH and DD did the 5K at AK in 2008, and I went as a spectator. There were plenty of people just watching as far as we could in the parking lot, and lots at the finish line. Plenty of opportunity for photos as they came towards the finish. I haven't seen the 5K course at Epcot, but I plan to be there this year since DH is running the 5K again.

Thanks for the reply! Are you planning on riding the bus over to Epcot with your DH or do catch a bus later? Can we ride the bus with the runners?
