A new first day record was set by Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest with $55.5 Million!

This is according to boxofficemojo.com

A huge accomplishment by Disney :thumbsup2
 
50 million was the previous record, set by Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith ;)
