513 Miles till the Poly...59 days to get there!

I started a thread back in April...can't find it. I mapped that it is 1,037 miles from our house north of Indy to the Polynesian. We are walking/riding our way there. We are down to 513 mile to go. It is a great family activity. My husband and I will walk after dinner, we go on family bike rides to the library, my sons will ride around the neighborhood in the afternoon instead of playing video games. My boy and I rode our bikes 18 miles (RT) for ice cream on the country roads to the small town where they go to school- today my youngest (11 1/2) and I rode back there to Subway for lunch. We are going to be ready for the walking in 59 days when we hit Disney as our reward. I think our goal for the winter will be to make it back by January 1st. I am feeling so much better- hubby has said my hips look smaller. We are having a great time....

Great idea! I checked mapquest and we are 1272 miles from Disney. We will be there about the same time as you. I don't think I can get all those miles walked before then though - it would be about 22 miles per day! Yikes! That would be nearly a marathon every day until we leave!

What a great idea! So, do you have to all do all of the miles or is it a sort of collected family mileage thing?

No, it is a group effort. I have enough Airtran credits for 2 upgrades to business class. I told everyone the top 2 would get upgrades but plan on it for everyone IF seats are available.

Kids are enjoying it!
