50th Castle Decor: How long to put UP?

There is much discussion about whether Disney will remove (some or all) of the special "golden" additions to the MK Castle at the end of the "50th Celebration" this Fall.

I thought it took several WEEKS, with that huge construction crane sitting in Fantasyland, to add these to the castle facade.

So... it seems that it will take a very long time to REMOVE these (if they decide to).

Does anyone remember exactly how long it took to ADD these decorations?

It was several weeks, at least. I remember because it started going up during the last days of Cinderella's Surprise Celebration. The reason it took so long is because they only worked on it at night.

So if we are going to be there Sept. 19-27th there is probably a good chance that we are going to have a half decorated castle the whole time. What a bummer. I am worried that the atmosphere is not going to be very magical.

The 50th Celebration doesn't end until Oct. 1, they probably won't change the outside until after that.

And, we still don't KNOW if (or how MUCH of) the "golden decor" will be removed.

Me too.. That mirror thingy is horrible...

There are rumors that they will be removing the cameo from the front of the castle and leaving the rest of the gold (including characters). I actually really like the gold spires and flying characters. I can't stand the cameo though, so I hope that rumor is true! We will be there Nov 5-11th I hope it'll be done by then!
