Celebrating a big birthday at US/IOA for a couple days :cool1: wondering what restaurant you would recommend for dinner? TIA

A lot of people like Emerils at City walk for a special occasion, I find the menu quite dull but it's a nice place.

Have you considered some of the hotel restaurants? Some of them allude more to special occasion than the citywalk restaurants, although most of them are lovely.

The Palm at HRH is beautiful. I'm not a fan of Italian restaurants but Bice at Portofino gets good reviews consistently.

But for General citywalk places to eat Nascar (which is closing soon) is always fantastic as is Margaritaville, always had good food and good service at both. Fantastic atmosphere in both places.

NBA is another that has good food. But always seem to lack atmosphere for some reason.

We love Emeril's Tchoup Chop restaurant at the Royal Pacific.

We are going to be staying at Bonnet Creek for our vacation, but I think I'm going to book us into HRH for a night to take advantage of the perks. The early entry, express pass, and the convenience of just staying there sounds like the best plan for our family. My husband hates lines, crowds, fuss, and being in a theme park too long :( So, all the options around the area are open and sound great!

I was toying with the idea of Margaritaville, but didn't give much thought into any hotel restaurant. My experience has been that hotels don't usually offer great food, but maybe I've been to the wrong hotels?!? Atmosphere is good, but food quality is better. I appreciate your help.

This was my second choice! I've always wanted to try Emeril's but have heard a lot of mixed feelings about this one. Since we'll be in the Universal parks for two days, we could do both of them. Problem is, there's too many choices! LOL Thanks for the reply!

check out the menus at www.citywalk.com and see what appeals to you.

go for the food and not the ambiance for your big celebration.

That's exactly my feeling too... food is the most important. We'll bring our own atmosphere anywhere we go! ;)

I have checked out all the restaurants and Margaritaville appealed most, but I hadn't thought of the hotel restaurants. So..... now I guess I need to look into those. Ideally, great food and service in a quieter location would be best to keep everyone happy. Menus don't tell you these things though. I have read that you get priority seating at select restaurants, but not sure which those are? LOL Thanks for the help, I'm grateful!

lol......I know what you mean..........

Margaritaville, while serving good food is anything but quiet.........it is a huge amount of fun and there is music which can be quite loud..........love it though :thumbsup2

The Islands and Tchoup Tchop at Royal Pacific are quiet, food is great in Jake`s Bar but some nights it can be fairly loud too. We were lucky when we ate there it was quiet, but other nights it was bouncing!!!

Yep, have a good read of the menus and see what would appeal to your group best........and you`re right.....there is so much choice :thumbsup2

op, check out damo's thread that is a sticky.
it has menus and pictures of food, some are from city walk.

Thanks, I appreciate the input! I guess maybe 'quiet' wasn't the right word! The least amount of trouble is more apt. With us staying at HRH, priority seating could come in handy! We haven't been to US/IOA since 2003, so this is going to be awesome! :cool1:

Emerils CItywalk or Emerils Tchop Chop are two of our favorite restaurants. We go to both restaurants on every trip. I don't know why others commented on a dull menu at Emerils Citywalk.......we think it is fantastic!!!!!

I'm so glad you enjoy Emerils Citywalk menu and think it's fantastic.........

I however find it quite dull.

Good job we are all different and there's plenty of choice for everyone.

Congrats! We just celebrated my 50th at Uni a couple of weeks ago, and had an absolutely fantastic meal at the chef's table at Emeril's. The food was great, and it was a lot of fun to watch the kitchen staff in action. Plus the price was pretty reasonable ($89 per person for four substantial courses). So if you like that kind if thing, I'd recommend it.

Thanks for the info! Everything ultimately comes down to preferences and sometimes just being at the right place at the right time, I guess. I'm just looking forward to an amazing couple of days and I'm sure to love most of it.

I wasn't aware they did that. Was the menu your choice or was it the Chef's choice? I'm not a fan of mushrooms or seafood and would not be happy with either. :worried:

It's a chef's menu, but they checked with us at the beginning about any food allergies, so I think they would be willing to adjust it if necessary. But I would check before reserving to be sure.

That sounds like a good time. Glad to hear you had a great 50th! :thumbsup2 Happy belated, and thanks for passing on the info.

Cowfish will probably open up soon! It sounds pretty delicious and I think it'll be worth checking out...
